But like with every other thing in game once not reachable becomes very easy to get with time....
I will leave Legendary weapon for some other time, now i spend my hard earned gold on gearing all my characters.

This too. In my opinion Sunrise is the only nice looking legendary at the moment, but I kind of want a legendary for my Elementalist if I ever get one. Unfortunately all legendaries for Elementalist are crap.

I was semi-excited for them, until the first few started coming out, and I saw the screenshots/videos, and realized how awful most of them look. The only ones that are even remotely good looking (imo) are the juggernaut, the predator, and rodgort. Most of them are, frankly, insulting to have to work that hard for to get (really? a clown water pistol that shoots flowers and makes squeaky noises?). and other than juggernaut and the greatswords, its obvious that little time was spent on the other weapons.
I won't get a single one, probably ever. There are tons of exotic skins that look so much better than all of the legendaries, and don't cost a million karma, 500g or more, and over a month of time to get.

I'm not actively going to do it. I play and do what I want and if it happens to get me closer to my legendary, that's great. But there's no way in hell I log on and think "Today I do only WvW for badges!"

With that in mind, you can imagine how many legendaries I plan to obtain.

You should try at least a few of them. Some of the stories and encounters are actually pretty fun and you don't really need to grind them like in WoW. Do one explorable dungeon path a week and you'll get enough for a legendary in 8 weeks. I do more than one in a day and I'm still not bored of them, part of that is because my guild runs are always pretty fun though xD

Always been a fan of shields and there designs, my warrior in WoW had a bank full of shields just because I like the look of them.
But it seems like a waste in this game, as shield has a limited use here. Unlike WoW as a tank spec I would have it out and use it all the time. I guess if you had a set weapon you used 90% of the time it would be worth it.

That said, I'd still like to get one, some day. In deciding what character to make my "main" (that being, the one I want to get really good at and explore everywhere with), how much I would like the available legendaries helps make the difference. For instance, Bifrost is a big draw for guardian. In combination with the staff attacks that guardian gets, I could make myself into an honest-to-goodness rainbowmancer. Feel the fury of rainbows!
So, I definitely haven't given up entirely, but I'm not really making a solid effort toward one, either.

But I'm glad that ANET has made them so that they offer no statistical advantage and that it offers a lot of people something to work towards. Unfortunately, a lot of high end stuff are geared towards the goal of getting Legendaries (i.e. Gift of Exploration from 100% map completion) so for folks like me who are not interested in a Legendary, that stuff is useless.
Here's hoping there are alternatives to Legendary items.

I haven't given up on a legendary, but I see it as more of a longterm goal, not something I feel pressured to complete any time soon.
