However with the current pricing of the weapons needed to create 1 thats not a option, so only thing now is too hope for a drop, but i dont see that happen either. Not really given up on it, but not all that interested in getting legendaries in their current state. Just seems like a waste of time to get 1 weapon I can use on only 1 character and doesn't give me better stats when I could spend time and money on outfitting all my 8 characters. Maybe once legendaries will require more... legendary deeds than just RNG and hoarding money I'll consider shooting for one...

Yeah the pricing is a little stiff. For some, it'd never be too much to work towards to as a long-term goal. I'm not going for it at this point though, there are actually a few other things I'd want to get done in this game.

The only legendaries worthy of legendary status are the twin greatswords. If you compare the amount of detail on those to the amount of detail in legendaries like the Minstrel it makes the effort seem meaningless.I won't even begin to attempt to craft a legendary until love is shown to the other weapons.

Yup too expensive to buy and create, and to get it as a drop well bigger chance to find water in Sahara.
But like with every other thing in game once not reachable becomes very easy to get with time....
I will leave Legendary weapon for some other time, now i spend my hard earned gold on gearing all my characters.

This too. In my opinion Sunrise is the only nice looking legendary at the moment, but I kind of want a legendary for my Elementalist if I ever get one. Unfortunately all legendaries for Elementalist are crap. :surprised:

the price is outrageous.  the skins are, at best, mediocre, and that is only for a few of them.  most of them look like absolute garbage.  The fact that you even have to get the clovers from RNG is horrible.  They offer nothing that an exotic doesn't other than epeen and a skin.

I was semi-excited for them, until the first few started coming out, and I saw the screenshots/videos, and realized how awful most of them look.  The only ones that are even remotely good looking (imo) are the juggernaut, the predator, and rodgort.  Most of them are, frankly, insulting to have to work that hard for to get (really?  a clown water pistol that shoots flowers and makes squeaky noises?).  and other than juggernaut and the greatswords, its obvious that little time was spent on the other weapons.

I won't get a single one, probably ever.  There are tons of exotic skins that look so much better than all of the legendaries, and don't cost a million karma, 500g or more, and over a month of time to get.

Most of the legandary items are not worth the price needed to create them.  I only like the greatswords appearance but I am not going to spend the money to get them.

I'm slowly working to "one day." Got my 100% world exploration and my 500 ascalon tears. Now hoping to get the 500 badges of honour just from doing the 50 kills every month. So far at 100.

I'm not actively going to do it. I play and do what I want and if it happens to get me closer to my legendary, that's great. But there's no way in hell I log on and think "Today I do only WvW for badges!"

One of the factors that helps me decide how my character should look like is how he looks in the cheapest gear available. If the character only looks good in expensive gear, then that character isn't getting made.
With that in mind, you can imagine how many legendaries I plan to obtain.

I'd be working towards one if they didn't require running dungeons. WoW just totally burnt me out on dungeon running and I have zero interest in ever doing it here.

I'm in the same boat as Darkobra. I like quite a few of the legendaries and it's something that I'm going to be working towards as a play the game, and I see myself playing this game for a very long time.

You should try at least a few of them. Some of the stories and encounters are actually pretty fun and you don't really need to grind them like in WoW. Do one explorable dungeon path a week and you'll get enough for a legendary in 8 weeks. I do more than one in a day and I'm still not bored of them, part of that is because my guild runs are always pretty fun though xD

My prediction window for my Legendary is starting to look very positive. I'm collecting the mats, diverting my funds to buying ectoplasms and lodestones, farming orichalcum whenever I can. I got lucky the other day and got a Mystic Clover! I'm telling you peeps, I have a feeling this is going to happen!

In 2016...

The prices for some prerequisites will drop as more people can more reliably get them. At this point there is still a large portion of the community that has yet to get to level 80.

The skins are noth worth the pain of farming them so no, I have no plans of making any legendary right now as there are much better skins on exotics or even rares/masterworks sometimes.

Giving up would imply I was even trying to get one, and to be honest about the only one I really want is the shield.
Always been a fan of shields and there designs, my warrior in WoW had a bank full of shields just because I like the look of them.
But it seems like a waste in this game, as shield has a limited use here. Unlike WoW as a tank spec I would have it out and use it all the time. I guess if you had a set weapon you used 90% of the time it would be worth it.

The information released on what these weapons actually require has significantly doused my enthusiasm, that's for sure.  I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon.

That said, I'd still like to get one, some day.  In deciding what character to make my "main" (that being, the one I want to get really good at and explore everywhere with), how much I would like the available legendaries helps make the difference.  For instance, Bifrost is a big draw for guardian.  In combination with the staff attacks that guardian gets, I could make myself into an honest-to-goodness rainbowmancer.  Feel the fury of rainbows!

So, I definitely haven't given up entirely, but I'm not really making a solid effort toward one, either.

First off, I'm not very interested in most of the Legendary looks. Some are cool but not cool enough to warrant spending that much time to get one. Also, Legendaries don't scream "legendary" to me because they're only an accomplishment of grind rather than actual skill. I have no idea what would test of skill would be needed but right now Legendaries are just an indication of how much wealth and how much time/grind someone has spent in the game.

But I'm glad that ANET has made them so that they offer no statistical advantage and that it offers a lot of people something to work towards. Unfortunately, a lot of high end stuff are geared towards the goal of getting Legendaries (i.e. Gift of Exploration from 100% map completion) so for folks like me who are not interested in a Legendary, that stuff is useless.

Here's hoping there are alternatives to Legendary items.

As a very casual player, I've not even started to collect anything legendary related.  It's just too expensive.  The most money I've had is 10G.  at the moment I have 7.  As a casual player, I don't expect to ever get legendary gear.  I don't really mind though, I rarely pay attention to what anyone is wearing.

I meant a use for some of the items like Gift of Explorations for map completion. I'm about to get 100% and I'll have no use for them since they're only used for Legendaries.

People cry for everything a legendary is a good long time goal to have the req needed are well diversified to keep u interested in the game for a while after u bet the game and get ur full exotic what else is there to do in ppve, map completion is not hard the jumping puzzles arnt that dificult with the help of youtube so a long term goal is healthy. I'm getting nightfall for my guardian and may even try to get the staff for my ele I  like the skins.

I was really hyped at the start on getting my Incinerator, but on their current state the skins are not even that great. So illl slowly play the game and save all i can (i already have t3 so no need for more) and then when anet give thiefs the option to use a rifle i will make the predator, this or ill make ilya and lyss since i love p/p, and even more if its gonna get buffd.

If i manage to get all the mats and am lucky with the precursor i'll make one. Otherwise i don't really care. I'm just playing for the fun of it and am not going to lose sleep over not getting a legendary.

I'm currently working on one and to be honest, I doubt giving up on it entirely is a wise choice if you still want it. Just collect the items needed little by little while still enjoying the game and before you know it, you'll have the legendary. Getting a pre-cursor may seem impossible but I'm sure you'll come across it at some point.

I hope to get Kudzu for my Ranger someday, but I wouldn't say I'm actively working for it. I'm working on my map completion and crafting, and over time I'll start putting away gold and materials for it.

I haven't given up on a legendary, but I see it as more of a longterm goal, not something I feel pressured to complete any time soon.

I'm saving legendaries for a far far off goal, since I'll only want them for the achievement. (I think almost all the skins are terrible). For now I'm attempting to craft Volcanus. Looks better than the "Legendary" greatsword skins, in my opinion of course.

I gave up on my legondary weapon skin when hacking the magic find became obvious. The ecconomy is a joke so is PvP with all the rendering, speed, teleport and other hacks in this game.
