  • Corrected drop rate for Unidentified Dye.
On November 1, we introduced a change that unintentionally increased the drop rate of Unidentified Dye. Today’s game update corrects the drop rate for Unidentified Dye.

I wondered why I was seeing so many dyes all of a sudden. I'll miss the increased drop rate.

But on the bright side, I got so many dyes, I look mahhhhvelous, dahhhling.   :cool:

Can I get some advice please? Due to the new update I believe I can't run GW2. I open the application but the program doesn't run.

There's things that have been broken since day one, bugs that have been there since day one, and their top priority is to fix dye drops.

Nice to see they know what's important...

Heh, my wife managed to get Abyss, and I just got White like an hour before the update ^_^

They need to fix this or they might not sell more from the gem store. Maybe they can add dungeon and other bug fixes to the gem store, I will sure buy some.

I know I took advantage of it... 10g worth of unid dyes at 1.25s each with around 10-15 white/black colours among various other rares, greens and blues... Filling up that dye page on many characters :P

Although I am kind of sad I didn't hold onto more of those rares until later... I foresee a price hike again =[

with the low drop rate they prices are next to nothing anyway.. they should have just kept them more common.. it's not like there is a shortage of different colors anyway. Plus, it's more of a fun thing anyway, it's not like anyone is going to use more than 10-20 of their favorites.

IMO they should have kept the drop rate OR made dyes account based.

I'm guessing it took them almost zero effort to fix. It's not like they are actually giving up on other bugs in order to fix this one.

They fix things as they are able, if they can fix it why should they ignore it until they fix things they are unable to atm?

Where's the rest of the patch notes? The patch was atleast 42mb, I can't believe all that was for was a dye fix.

Also guilds are broken now.

dyes dropping a little more than usual is hardly game breaking or balance-destroying though. some other the other bugs in the game on the other hand...

even if it only took 5 minutes to fix this dye problem, that was 5 minutes better spent on other, real issues, imo. who gives a crap that dye drops more...

Unless is completely breaks or unbalances the game, no one bug is more important than another. They get fixed when they can.

This is a pretty drastic oversimplification. Do you really know enough about the game's source code that you can tell us that every bug is just a matter of time and willpower to fix? Or that 5 minutes spent on one task is truly what's delaying something else from getting done?

there's things that have been broken since day one, but i'm 100% sure they're not as simple to fix as the dropchance for dyes.

Id rather they fixed the Orr dynamic event chain... Stopping us from doing dungeon and finishing personal story.

Mystic Forge ate 4 rares and spit out NOTHING....  careful of what you put in mystic forge since this patch...i bugged it, but i doubt i'll get any refund....

That has been the case since release. Still no word if it is intentional or a bug.

Well, I guess I am back to not caring about dyes.
The increased rate made me actually think that I could start IDing and using them, but if they are supposed to be insanely rare, then I'll go back to simply selling them. Unless something is extremely common, then that's out of reach for me in this game.

Oh I am sorry they did not cater to your specific needs with this patch. I'll make sure they do so in the future.


Why do people think it is a good idea to postpone completed fixes just because they don't care?
