Hello guys,
I have been playing guild wars 2 from releasedate and suddenly -can't pinpoint when - this problem occurred and i can't seem to ix it.
When i bought and installed Guild Wars 2 i think the first 2 months i had no issues.
Since a few weeks i have the strange problem that the sound in Guild Wars 2 is so low that
i have to adjust the volume of my speakers to maximum to hear a little sound (environment/voices etc).
When i use my headset i don't hear no ingamesound at all, though i hear the voices of my guildies alright.
Never had this before.
It suddenly happened - can't really pinpoint when and since it happened it never disappeared.
I tinkered with the ingame sound settings to no solution.
So now i am stiuck with almost no sound while playing the game.
In every other game i play (atm Dead Island) the sound from my speakers works just fine.
When i play some music it sound just well (speakers and with headphone)
Anybody heard of this problem and might have a fix ?
Almost no sound when playing Guild Wars 2

Make sure you have the proper audio device selected in the audio settings.

Hey swordmagic
I faced the same problem as you, and this is the second time I've experienced this. I just decided to try to reinstall my audio drivers again (Realtek HD audio manager), and yeah it works. I hope this works for you. I played gw2 for quite sometime without sound, and it sucks. The game sounds, everything from music to dialogue, makes it worth playing.
Frankly, I do wish Anet would buck up on their technical service support, and I hope they can get down to really addressing the technical issues of the game (such as gfx crashes and such). But well, hope this works for you.

Two things to check:
Master volume
VOIP ducking
I had my VOIP ducking set really low, and if I was ever on a Skype call, GW2's sound would basically turn off. Just a thought.
