More and more posts I am seeing comment on Nov 15th and that thiefs are screwed? is there a big nerf patching coming down or what? only thing I keep finding is infomration on the new zone but nothing on Thief changes beside the posts about gloom and doom for thiefs.
anyone have a good link or information they can post would be appricated.

But, along with that release we should all expect that there will be a "standard" patch involved.
I believe the discussion you're looking for can be found here, also relating to the official forum thread where J. Sharp had this to say:
"Just wanted you guys to know we’re looking at this specifically right now. We will probably bring down the raw spike DPS for some builds, but we’ll be careful to increase other areas to compensate."
Hope that helps!

I predict that BS will be nerfed into the ground, most will go some type of surv/cond and sooner or later that builded will become OP by the cry babies and it will be nerfed and BS will come back.....welcome to the regular MMO...

It's lots of fun for me due to requiring positioning, timing and stealth management - I find the other setups too facerollish for my tastes.
Then again if PW was decreased by 15% I can't see them doing worse on backstab since it requires stealth and it's positional.
I believe they should instead disallow to "charge" CnD before steal.
If they did, people would have 1 second or more from steal to backstab, so they would have no reason to cry again because it would be 100% L2P issue.
I already don't use charged CnD because I find it gimmicky and I want it changed.

Anet keeps lots of metrics on the number of players playing each class. It's pretty easy to take the #1 and #2 played classes, revamp or nerf them, buff the #7 and #8 classes...which pushes all those players to re-roll, learn the new class, go through the content again, get new gear, maybe even a new legendary, etc....all the while buying more gems and keeping the environment populated which encourages others to do the same.
I'm just saying...it's not very hard to make the classes equal in strength. I don't buy the "it takes us years of repeated patching/nerfing/buffing" to make classes balanced. Technical programming details aside, I think most of us could balance the classes fairly easily. The problem is that for companies that play this re-balance for re-playability game, profession balance will never happen. There is a big incentive for them not to ever balance things. I HOPED ArenaNet was different and above that. But I'm definitely starting to have my doubts...

Nerfs hit the hardest on PvP, and since in Guild Wars PvP, there is no leveling needed to jump right in... this argument doesn't really hold very well.

I'm really hoping for a backstab nerf so that all these bandwagging thieves can piss off back to warrior or what ever else they came from.

If you use MUG/CnD/Steal combo then expect a nerf (possibly executioner to nerfed to 15%)
BS will remain "as is"
