As the title suggest, why not sell different kinds of lodestones (perhaps lower level variants too) for karma? People have plenty of karma to burn after getting whatever it is they might've wanted to get with it, but little to spend it on. On the other hand, a lot of weapons, legendary or crafted via normal means require tons of these expensive and hardly-ever-dropping pieces of crafting materials. The price for single lodestone shouldn't be too low, perhaps 3k/piece, and they could be sold only after some more difficult dynamic event somewhere in dark corner of Tyria. This would make crafting a weapon of choice do-able in a month, but would still require some effort.

Of course, this could mean inflation of prices on any and all lodestones (or lonestones, *cough*)

After karma almost permanently destroyed the market at the games' release, I don't see this happening, ever.  They're only going to allow karma to be converted into account bound items whose crafted products cannot be vendored.
Fun while it lasted.  I guess.

They would have to make all lodestones account bound...and all things created with them account bound...which would be fine with me!

another thing to consider, doing your daily would net you 4.5k karma, meaning you could obtain at least 1 per day without having to grind 3k karma.
more incentive to play daily i guess and explore all content rather then riding shotgun with plinx for 'x' amount of hours.

what about having more dragon bosses, and their respective chests drops 1 lodestone every time you open it(along with a few other random drops of course)

Make a second set of lodestones (same graphic/name, different item number) that are account-bound. Sell for 20k karma a piece. Problem solved.

Having Lodestones, and potentially other valuable rare drops, sold for Karma would be fine even if they weren't soulbound so long as they were priced appropriately (and of course, doing so would decrease the gold value of some lodestones too which may not be a bad thing.)  3k each would be a joke though, and even 20k is almost absurdly cheap.  Price them at 40-60k Karma (so on a par with a piece of exotic gear) and then although supply would be increased and price decreased it wouldn't kill the market.  They need to introduce something in the 50-100k karma range other than legendary components at any rate and rare crafting materials is as good as any of the alternative possibilities.

I like the idea of making second, soulbound version for karma variants. Also, never say no to more cool bosses, which would definately be welcome :D
As for pricing, it was simply a suggestion. I don't personally yet have problem with "too much karma" so I threw something a bit higher than what I believe obsidian shards go for.
