so i just started playing on the server Stormbluff Isle. I havent been seeing a lot of players lately, ive only seen about 3 or 4 so far. Maybe its because im a ranger? Stormbluff isle is one of the highest population servers so i expected to be seeing more people....or maybe most people are in one specific area?? somebody help please

Most people are in the higher level areas.
Don't worry, there are plenty of people playing, you only need to go to Lion's Arch to find that out.

some servers are ghost towns I'm not sure about stormbluff but darkhaven seems abandoned.

Stormbluff isnt a ghost town...its almost always on full

Lion's Arch is a city, you get to it by going through a portal in your race's home city.

My playtime has almost stopped. WvW is why I bought the game and for me...it's simply awful.I just cant make myself level a character to play in WvW...knowing what a mess it is.

I've noticed a considerable drop in the population of my server (Far Shiverpeaks). Firstly we've been a major victim of nightcapping in WvW (against Vizunah Square, Desolation and most recently Baruch Bay), and as a direct result our WvW guilds have abandoned the server (we were a comfortable 2nd in the rankings; now we're 7th and and in free-fall, about to be relegated again this Friday).

But also in PvE, I'd say player numbers are down about 1/2 to 2/3 on what they were at launch. This is purely anecdotal evidence, of course, but it does take into account both high level areas (my Lv.80 Guardian) and lower-level areas (my Lv.18 Warrior) that' I've been in recently.

Yeah, bots/gold sellers usually roll rangers, so people might not think you're worth talking to.

Well, some areas, specially the low level ones, have less people now, but people are playing, many servers are full all the time. I suppose most of people are now playing dungeons (you can't see that people because is instanced), also packed in higher level areas, playing PvP and WvW, and dancing in cities showing how cool their armor is.

As this thread can be given no definite answer it is not appropriate for Q&A as said in our rules.

Your best bet to find massive amounts of people would be in Lions Arch, which is accessible via an Asura Gate in every main city.
