I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theories, I was giving a simple explanation of how the ratings work and how the fall of HoD has imbalanced the points.
What you said isn't how the ratings work however. HoD wasn't on the map long enough to make a large enough or even permanent impact, they only played 3 matches that were rated. JQ has the record for the highest rating of any server thus far and the same argument could be made for when JQ took 3rd place while in first seed that was an even bigger upset. In the end the glicko-2 scores catch up to the state of the server pretty quickly, i.e. HoD has already been forgotten by the scoring about the time they were rated 2nd over a month ago. The scores are the way they are now, have nothing to do with HoD.
And that's not a conspiracy theory, it's not hard to do when you are a commanders of the servers largest PvP guilds and you are moving a 100+ zerg around, to change the ratings. Case in point, huge BG oceanic guilds transferred to SBI (back when IoJ was in T1) on a Wednesday so that they could knock IoJ out of the tier and BG could move up. They transferred home that Friday just in time for their T1 match. That kind of stuff happens all the time in T1.

Obviously it hasn't worked as SoS now has 6 points over BG.
I think it's just the opposite, since everyone knows since T3 we are suckers for special events.

Can SoR and IoJ lay a beat down on SoS the next few days please. We are like family now, don't kick us to the curb yet!

Why do you care? Does it matter who you're killing?
If it matters that much to you then sandbag. If not, why worry about it?

Some are worried because going to T1 now sucks since a one-time event is occurring this same weekend. For me personally, I'd prefer we were in T2 another week then T1 when there isn't some PvE to distract us from a potentially great matchup. Hopefully SBI and JQ will have similar desires and it just be a slow start to WvW.

The PvE will distort the match-up. There is a lot of PvX on SoS, so our numbers will not be what they are.
Yes, we do coast after the weekend, because once we have it in hand, we do not want to burn out they players. If there was a significant threat later in the week, SoS would play harder, but if at the end of the toughest part of WvW (Sunday Night), we like to let people see their families, and make it to work a few days of the week.

Regardless, no one is going to be happy with how things are going to go. SoS will go after the shinies, our WvW centric guilds will be disappointed.
T1 will devolve into accusations of "SoS is playing for second" and other various butthurt. Especially since we'll be back on the clock Monday in force.
Meanwhile IoJ and SoR will have Blackgate with it's Euro coverage. After two weeks of being kicked around in T1 they have a lot of frustration to take out.
I think this is going to be one of the worst weeks for WvW since the format began. In T3 we'll find out if the RP'rs in TC will go for WvW over Lost Shore, while FA and Yak's Bend have to decide to take advantage or not.
I hope I'm proven wrong though and it all works out.

Are we going to keep our focus on the objective we have dedicated the last few weeks towards, or will the allure of "new shinies" take center stage and WvW will be a ghost town?

IoJ: We don't have enough WvW coverage this week because we're too busy coming up with next week's excuse. And lots of PR damage control with photo opps. It seems like you only decided to show up for T1 and that you're too important to bother fighting in T2 because it's beneath you and not worthy of your time. You're a PvE server pretending to be a PvP server.
SoR: We're tired of playing the same people and so we're taking our ball and going home. Shame on the guilds that left this week. Props to the rest of SoR for staying and fighting.
SoS: Good fights! Bring it! BAMFs or sadomasochists, I'm not sure which one yet. I'm also not sure if they're competitive for T1 yet. Although Oceanic coverage is healthy, there is still no EU coverage, no SEA coverage, and only 75% NA coverage.
My only issue is with guilds like BP, TW, ND - IoJ, ND - SoR, , uA, FIST, TEST, EPIC, SIN, Res, RUN, and GSCH. These guilds are out there everyday in WvW fighting while other guilds spend their time talking. I can respect that and applaud your efforts.
You all deserve better from your respective server communities.

Huge Oceanic guilds? *laughs* Got any guild tags to back up that statement?

Those on BG who want to go out and have some fun and bring some fights to the enemy where we can manage it will continue to do so the rest of the week, just like we did last week. It just so happened that doing this last week kept us in T1. ELO can go eat a D as far as I'm concerned.

Everyone on my stream and the 20 in the TL channel were laughing our butts off. It was epic. Let's do that more often, but earlier in the night when we don't have TL in multiple maps
/salute /respect.
Nope, we had 31 there total, 27 for most of the fighting that you were a part of. Also, do you have the footage for the 30-40 min after your stream stopped? We are working some kinks out of our strategies and your streams give us a great opportunity to improve by seeing through the eyes of our opponents. If you want to just send it privately, that would be fine! Just message me in guru.

We try man. TL and BP are fierce competitors, sent us packing back to the spawn quite a few times. Great job to everyone who showed for the fights, as long as your there, WvW will never be dull!

All the guilds you listed here have our utmost respect. Anytime a scout spots one of these tags, they are instructed to interrupt coms and immediately inform the commander. You guys bring WvW to a level many will never see, which is a shame.
If your one of these free agents, GET IN ONE! You seriously have no idea what your missing. If we had every free agent or small guild join one of these big names, your server would go from T2 to top world wide in a matter of weeks. There is a leadership law called the law of 80/20. 80% of the work in any environment is performed by 20% of the personnel. If your not in one of these teams, you are part of the unproductive group. The commanders in these teams could manage double, or even triple their current load, and would be able to dominate a whole map easy for all time zones with personnel looking to learn; and help enhance their server.
Give it a shot, what have you to lose?

I'm not sure what the climate is on IoJ, but on SoS most NA guilds welcome smaller guilds to run along side larger guilds whenever they feel like playing in WvW. We all understand the reasons you don't want to abandon friends to join larger guilds. In this game, that should not be a problem as long as other guilds are hospitable.
I frequently whisper guild tags I don't recognize to hop in my guilds Teamspeak even if to just socialize, its better for your overall server community.

Then quite frankly, your not the audience I was speaking to. I'm sure there is a small number of people out there, that do or die, stay with a few close friends and family so tightly they cant rep another guild for the few hours a day they spend in WvW. To the rest, if you guild permits it, come talk to a few of the big boys out there. Dispite what some people may think, were not all *bags running around dropping N bombs and teabagging enemies. Some of us fight for the thrill of battle, and the urge to build our team stronger with every entry into WvW.
Some WvW guilds out there will require 100% representation at all times. If that doesn't work for you, find one like Tsym that you can rep while you WvW with us, be on TS, coordinate with the forces on the map, then go back to your friends guild with all kinds of experience not possible because "Chad" doesn't like to WvW.

My guess is that we won't know until reset on Saturday morning (aussie time) the shape of T1 and T2 next week.

SoR came out swinging today but SoS rallied and currently holds a +500 PPT. This will come down to the next two days, SoS looks like a strong candidate for T1.

For any IoJ boys in this boat. TEST War has an even stricter policy.. Unless you are active doing WvWvW, get the hell out =P The multi-guild system in GW2 is awesome, please use it!
