Really awesome match, played the first 6 or 7 hours of reset and it was an intense 3-way the entire time. IoJ have stepped up their game in a big way following rumors of a number of well organized guilds transferring over to them, and SoR seem eager for SoS blood, as always.

Hopefully this match stays full-on till the end.

As much as that news would be very exciting, I haven't seen any new tags at all in weeks. We simply had a few meetings over last week with various WvW Leaders and stepped up the game a bit. Whether it holds through the week or not due to population matters little to most here on IoJ.

We're hoping to prove (if we haven't already) that even far in third and with/without the outmanned buff, we'll be coming out giving some epic fights in hopes of both sides having a good time.

Glad to hear this. IoJ seems renewed and hungry for a fight. They were bringing the pain in EB all night. AoI is fairly new to EB, so we spent the last few days doing some serious research and picking our fellow guild leaders brains for tips (Thx Coron[TSym] & Quality[PRX]). Playing in EBG is a totally different beast than playing a BL. It's been a tremendous learning experience for AoI and we hope to prove that we can roll in EBG with the best of them.
So far, this has been even more competitive and exciting than I hoped for. I can only imagine what is in store for us this Sunday... we will be looking forward to it :)

Good luck to all three servers.  =)

SoS and SoR, it's also time to start tuning your engines and organizing for the M-F war of Tier One.   All things remaining equal and all the servers continuing to mobilize, everyone currently in Tier 1-2 will get their shot.

Ok who are you, and what have you done to IoJ?  You've been ahead on PPT on the weekend, we all know that IoJ doesn't start the match until Tuesday.

j/k gj IoJ, you are finally giving us the 3-way match everyone has wanted.  SoR, this is what you should have saw last week, welcome to the real T2.

SoR, getting good with those portal bombs!  Particularly Tempest Wolves; you're not TSym yet though.

Really? news to me since there's no new guild tags not to mention actual missing guild tags ;) if anything IoJ has LOST guilds since "taking a break" from wuvwuv weeks ago

Janthir is the same as it was before if not less, just overachieving doing what we can with what we have

I'll say this about our little server that could.. besides Stormbluff Isle (not counting the recent bandwagoning on sbi since claiming the wuvwuv throne)

I don't know of any other servers who have had as loyal a foundation of guilds and have not received massive transfers than Stormbluff and Janthir

..actually, now that I think about it.. is it an Isle thing? o_O

Match has been a lot of fun so far.
Got on several hours after reset and spent the next several hours sniping green water yaks in sor bl to delay upgrades at the hills until SoS eventually sent a few thieves down to perma-stealth them.
Just a shame we couldn't manage to cap hills while it was still only reinforced with  no cannons or anything.

Since reset, we've been giving it our all, and doing a damn good job keeping both servers at bay. We've had amazing fights, and had a blast with all the guilds involved from SoS. Even right after the reset when our IDOL / TL pug had SoS on the defense, we still had SoR sieging up Pangloss. We've put up a pretty good fight, but the cries from other servers that IoJ doesn't fight back get old when you get double teamed as bad as this.

I don't understand, why SoR doesn't attack SoS. I've heard that there's no love lost, and that SoR has a rivalry with SoS, but for whatever reason, you guys are too scared to push and attack Golanta / Klovan.

IoJ has had constant meetings and ideas to keep us going good, restructure our W3, and the fight isn't lost yet. We lost our Overlook with SoS inside the keep and SoR LITERALLY cutting people off from spawn, giving SoS the keep. I ask SoR, what makes you resort to a tactic like that? IoJ hasn't posed a threat in weeks. Why don't you push and attack each other?

I like a good fight, and enjoy a challenge. You'd think that after a week of the same garbage, you two would constantly attack each other. Right after the reset, SoS was actually pushing into SoR and IoJ took SM. People fought hard, THAT was fun, but when it's a 2v1 it's hard to keep people interested. Shortly after this, in EB, IoJ had the Out-manned buff. The scores are still close, so we'll see. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night.

This is about 20 minutes after losing our keep...still not attacking each other.

Arctix, I think you should know by now that there is no alliance between SoR and SoS. In all the borderlands we crash our face into each other for hours just for the sake of it. I think the major reasons SoR doesnt advance onto Golanta and then try and grab Glovan then hitting into SoS territory is because :

1) Golanta is usually protected by people on sieges from the major guilds so they do call for help when needed/scout.
2) Waypoint from Keep is actually very close to that part, I've seen Tsym manage to make there in time and portal bomb the SoR Golanta raid crew and wipe them out.
3) It is a wide open area where non-portal flanks are strong, and portal flanks are deadly.
4) Tied with 2, once Glovan is fortified its very hard to cap it before the SoS zerg reacts.

All this just makes pushing onto the IoJ side more feasible points wise/rewarding. I think if you ( IoJ ) manage the reset the upgrades at Glovan / Golanta, I'm sure SoR will be there all day everyday.

Same shit different week man.  Come out strong, and the first and third server squash you for their own reasons.  WvW is also losing some steam with players as far as i can tell.... i may be wrong.

Yeah, I don't think there is any conspiracy of the two working together. I think it's just a matter of SoS being too strong in those areas and IoJ being an easier target.

Whoa who said anything about an alliance? I do not think there's an alliance.

I just think SoR doesn't attack SoS as much as they should. There are plenty of opportunities, when one server is getting double teamed to sneak a few towers, SoR didn't take advantage of even a supply camp.

My point is that it's poor tactics. SoR is playing for Second.

Also, if any supply camp is easily defended and set up with siege, it would be Pangloss, and that's where you can find SoR 80% of the time. Like I said, during reset, all three servers were attacking each other, and not playing a 2v1. IoJ did just fine, in fact we did very well, and it was more fun. It's hard to rally "PuG's" when SoS and SoR have both of their collaborative zergs on your side of the map, taking everything you have, instead of fighting each other (like at the beginning of the match).

SoR could gain some good points if they pushed into SoS's side of the map.

<Or SoS not hitting SoR>
So this is the second map picture you posted.  I can't speak for what SoS is really doing in EB since I have been spending most of my time in SoS border, but that looks like SoR taking both of SoS's sentries and SoS rolling through the hyleks and taking Danelon...

I think it's just much more of a seesaw/Stalemate than anything else.

SoR could gain some good points if they pushed into SoS's side of the map.
I think one of the main reason was we both kept smashing into each other for the Hylek/Golanta area beforehand and gain very little from it.  Once they take Golanta we'll take it back, they can never take Jerrifer because we have like at least 5-7 arrow carts and they can't do much with an upgraded Klovan either before reinforcement arrives; same for us with QL.

Geographically Red section's just bad because your keep's so far away from your outer towers (wtf @ needing to cross lakes, mountain ridges, and bridges to even get to a Tower), which makes it easier for the other two to snipe Towers; mentality wise if we were able to progress to your side, we want to keep pushing in (whereas with SoR it's just stalemate most of the time and can't even hold the place until the tick happens).

When we eventually got inside your keep and took it (which was very difficult to take with all the lag and Lord getting rezzed twice; took us 3x to set a group of 5 just standing on the coarpse spamming auto attack and aoe).  By this point, we don't have the spare manpower to invade SoR; after we took it, we tried to hold onto the keep but it was just too much effort for so little points, we decided to give it up to SoR (who made pretty good progress on the right corner and had like 4 trebs attacking us from all over).

Once SoR took Overlook then we start attacking each other after.

tl;dr: just take advantage of map terrain really

EDIT: Apparently BG's having the same issue at T1 being red and Klovan/Quentin not getting actions?

Be sure to crush Blackgate and consider it done. Last I checked despite already getting a little bit of a lead over the other servers, if the scores stay in this ratio, Sos's glicko rating will go down, because of the rating of our opponents is a fair bit lower than ours despite us being close in competition level.

Meanwhile Blackgate were 3rd by a small margin and their glicko rating goes up because their opponents have superior rating. Thrash them and we might see you next week.
