so, who on JQ will support you and MMAC intentionally losing matches on behalf of JQQ once JQ falls down to Tier 2 (which is a real possibility if SoS comes in second next week, given that by the end of the week your rating will probably not have changed much, certainly less than the 32 points predicted)? Or is it all just a bunch of BS and the jade emporer is only pretending they control an entire server's outcome?

Wow. I thought were were shaping up and got our off hours crew back. I've been in EB mostly. The commanders there are awesome in /team. Very helpful. Very polite. And we seem to do well on that map.

Still trying to get that breakthrough on other maps, but still the TS crowd won't budge.

I don't think its possible to +695 for any consistent period anymore. Too much cross coverage. Sometimes it could occur at the end of a week-long match when outcome is not reversible. From the fighting I have seen all the T1 servers seem to give their best to get max PPT even when undermanned. It is not easily manipulated. Even if you had insidious intent, you can't control masses on the server and you definitely can't control your enemy. If someone tries to suggest that kind of stunt on SBI they would be mocked mercilessly.

Today was different. I wasn't around for the initial push but SBI pretty much held PPT lead for majority of whole day including North American time.

Is it because now that the turle and portal bombs have been countered, there's nothing left in the tank? Some are saying it's because they're getting 2v1 by SBI and JQ, but aren't we ALL getting 2v1? I know that we're fighting 2 servers at once. I'm pretty sure SBI is fighting 2 servers at once as well. It only looks like a double team because neither side is helping your server, but trust me... they ain't helping us either.

Some are saying it's coverage. Pardon me, but didn't BG have awesome coverage until thursday night of week 1 when they lost the lead?

I see some mighty fine warrior guilds on BG giving it their all every fight... seems like the rest of the server quit when they lost. So much respect for the BG guilds still fighting. You guys rocked. Just wish your population would back you guys up and give you all the support you need.

These comments aren't represenative of AoS or any of our members as Menaace isn't a part of the guild. We play WvW to have fun and he isn't part of the guild. Just wanted to make that clear.

Maybe people are simply seeing things for what they are. Our hopes, dreams, visions and desires regarding massive warfare is simply that, Fool's Gold.

ArenaNET never intended wuvwuv to become what we have turned it into: ENDGAME. World-vs-World-vs-World was made for casual players to play casually. It was something AN wanted people to jump into, get a few kills, log off. We turned it into endgame because there is nothing else to do in GW2.

All one needs to do is take a look at SPVP and all the plans, projects, on-the-way works on arenanet's pipeline to see where their focus is at.

Then look at wuvwuv. Total utter silence without a drop of any sort of plan.

My friend who plays strictly in SPVP since launch slapped me with that cold hard truth almost 3 weeks ago and she is 120,000% correct and I cannot deny it. AN simply does not care about wuvwuv and to that end, why should we?

Arenanet made wuvwuv for casual play. It's something they want everyone to be able to jump into, get a few battles going, get some kills and that's that. This is the reason they have absolutely no plan whatsoever regarding wuvwuv and all you need to do is open your eyes and look at SPVP's pipeline to see exactly what is going on.

edit: don't let my somber tone and macabre attitude affect anyone. there's simply no way to say this truth except to lay it out there. all you need is a change of perspective and it does not matter how much we want things to be amazing. in the end, arenanet never intended wuvwuv to become what we have turned it into

Well, don't get too tied up in gaming.  Friend of mine got divorced because of it.  Played RIFT when it came out for 2 months and we never heard from him till around SWTOR.  Then he played SWTOR for a good 3-4 months and now he is divorced.  Too much gaming and not enough wife time.

Edit:  Also, don't get me wrong, BG and JQ are awesome opponents.  I don't know your server or want to speculate.  On SBI, we play nicely with each other and have fun doing it.  We don't have a huge alliance.  We are out to have fun, win or lose.  Even when we are down, people keep the complaining down to a minimum.  So for us, it's the fun fights.  Remember last week when BG and JQ took turns at DB and we held in the orb room for 3 hours?  No complaining, just people keeping chat clear for movement and numbers and keeping everyone alive.  So when we are losing, people don't suddenly want to give up and call it a wash that fast.  I say that because some people said that after the 3 hours, both sides got demoralized a little due to not being able to take the keep.  Just have fun and do what you can.  Our guild only has 5 people on WvW most nights and some nights we have up to 15.

You say AN doesn't care about WvW and why should we?  We make the game fun.  We don't have to rely on the game company to make the game fun.  I'll ask you this.  I don't know if you ever played SWG or not.  That game has ZERO content, none.  We played that game because we made it fun.  We went out and flagged up and sought out fights from Imperials.  There was nothing other than farming Night Sisters in that game for rare drops.  We made the game fun as a community, both sides, not just 1 side.

Here, we have a sort of sand box that AN provides.  We are left to make our fun.  It's not as open ended as SWG was, but you have somewhere to go and find opponents to battle against.  Lay out your best strategy to keep the enemy thinking and preventing from losing ground.  To me, open end world PvP is much more enjoyable than setting out a pre made team for areans.  In WoW back in the day, did you ever wonder why RMP was always the top 3 teams in arena play (3 man groups) and probably 6 out of 10 teams were always up there?  It's because they meshed better than other combinations.  In two mans, Druid was always up there.

Thanks we definitely had some fun @ titan paw in SBI BL Lol. Think it was a 50 man zerg that ultimately wiped us but was lots of fun haha. Keep up the fun fights hopefully this match will still have its moments rather than a dead period in the coming days.

Hello All,
I am a new user to Guru, but a long time lurker. I am public relations for AoS, it was recently brought to my attention that we have someone who we would rather not claiming to be part of our guild. We hold no grudges. But would prefer to not be associated with him. So from this point forward anything that "Walker" says on behalf of AoS, does not reflect the views of AoS.

On another note, great job SBI, JQ, and BG.  It is nice to see the match this close. Keep up the good work everyone.

I'll give you my take. Three weeks ago in our first match, BG was coming off two snorefests, and was hungry. We came out firing, and DEYs brought their turtle tactic out in full force that caught everyone by surprise (even prompting a whole thread on the subject). Then those despicable and unfortunate incidents with the orb happened, which pissed WM off to the point where they probably took a few days off. So week 1 was a combination of 1) excitement for BG on being in a T1 match, 2) a new tactic that took time to figure out and counter and 3) WM and maybe others in their time zone saying screw this for a couple days.

But then SBI's superior coverage and organization overcame, and BG lost the lead, which I think demoralized the average player who tends to zone in, find a commander icon and run to that spot to follow them around. I think it's that kind of player that has been missing the past two weeks. The "casual" player if you will. When you give it 110% all week just to realize you're still outgunned, it can crush your morale and desire to even bother when you're more of the casual type.

There's also been some attrition in the player base. A couple NA guilds officially retired, some of our Oceanic players have been busy with life and are taking a break. The bottom line is, the server is tired, frazzled and pretty disorganized right now. But we're working on that as I type this. BG just needs a little time to get their stuff together.

Edit - Oh I had another thought that I forgot to mention. I'm betting that there were a fair amount of bandwagoners that followed the TA guilds to BG, and were present during the first match. Once they realized we weren't going to be HoD 2.0, they bailed, since all that type of player is interested in is always being on the winning team.

Arenanet made wuvwuv for casual play. It's something they want everyone to be able to jump into, get a few battles going, get some kills and that's that. This is the reason they have absolutely no plan whatsoever regarding wuvwuv and all you need to do is open your eyes and look at SPVP's pipeline to see exactly what is going on.

edit: don't let my somber tone and macabre attitude affect anyone. there's simply no way to say this truth except to lay it out there. all you need is a change of perspective and it does not matter how much we want things to be amazing. in the end, arenanet never intended wuvwuv to become what we have turned it into

The only thing I could find accurate in your post is the fact that AN labeled WvW 'Casual PvP' and Minigame PvP 'Stuctured PvP.  

The reality is that WvW has had more attention and more tuning by AN than SPvP since day 1.  

Another reality is that WvW is a lot closer to what RvR centric players expected as opposed to SPvP meeting the expectations of SPvP players. WvW needs tuning.  SPvP needs some major additions to survive as 'Spectator Sport' PvP and clearly AN recognizes that.  It is only logical that AN puts some marketing focus on what they have planned for it.

So you've labeled your post as defacto truth, yet other than talking to your friend who 'strictly' play SPvP I am not really sure how you have drawn your conclusions.

Is it because now that the turle and portal bombs have been countered, there's nothing left in the tank? Some are saying it's because they're getting 2v1 by SBI and JQ, but aren't we ALL getting 2v1? I know that we're fighting 2 servers at once. I'm pretty sure SBI is fighting 2 servers at once as well. It only looks like a double team because neither side is helping your server, but trust me... they ain't helping us either.

Some are saying it's coverage. Pardon me, but didn't BG have awesome coverage until thursday night of week 1 when they lost the lead?

I see some mighty fine warrior guilds on BG giving it their all every fight... seems like the rest of the server quit when they lost. So much respect for the BG guilds still fighting. You guys rocked. Just wish your population would back you guys up and give you all the support you need.

The same thing happened to IoJ, like the ride up to T1 built this wave of momentum, and then it just washed away... I'm not trolling, I'm serious. I was eating dirt in that first matchup and BG killed me more times than any other server ever had. What's the deal?

I can't speak to all the reasons. As for coverage, it was never amazing, and it's definitely a little less than it was in the beginning these matches. A few guilds transferred/disbanded/retired from the game. People were itching for a fight after two weeks of blowouts and when it came we literally gave it our all and burned out, which resulted in the population drop off. In the following days it became less an issue of losing, which never really was an issue in my opinion, and more one of boredom.

I for one am bored of this match. I know my guild mates and people I've talked to are as well. People got used to the progression one finds in the lower tiers. Seeing different servers, facing new guilds, strategies, and challenges every week. There definitely was that factor in the beginning, but as the following weeks came a long it became stale.

While the score may not reflect it, we definitely haven't given up. Obviously I don't speak for Blackgate, this is just my take on it. This match has its moments of fun and I log on every night hoping to be surprised.

Game was amazing.

Besides the JTLS part of the game, all that stuff was game content for sure, but it wasn't made by SOE as scripted events.  All that was there open ended for players to do something with, nothing scripted.  The house interior contests, the cantina videos, lots of that stuff was community driven.  I was on Bloodfin, we had a great PvP community and we constantly went out looking for fights.  We even had someone trying to meta game the PvP just like the Emerald Council

I was on Bloodfin too playing with AXIS, VII and VoD. I agree, the community was amazing, always jedi fights at tattooine cantina. I never felt like I was out of content and the open-source feel of the world made it seem like we controlled part of it. i.e. trapping people inside the loading docks haha.
