But anyways... question BG guys and girls:
I'm still wondering what happened to BG? So strong out of the gate. now going the IoJ route, it seems. Some are saying boredom, but I think there's more to it.
Is it because now that the turle and portal bombs have been countered, there's nothing left in the tank? Some are saying it's because they're getting 2v1 by SBI and JQ, but aren't we ALL getting 2v1? I know that we're fighting 2 servers at once. I'm pretty sure SBI is fighting 2 servers at once as well. It only looks like a double team because neither side is helping your server, but trust me... they ain't helping us either.
Some are saying it's coverage. Pardon me, but didn't BG have awesome coverage until thursday night of week 1 when they lost the lead?
I see some mighty fine warrior guilds on BG giving it their all every fight... seems like the rest of the server quit when they lost. So much respect for the BG guilds still fighting. You guys rocked. Just wish your population would back you guys up and give you all the support you need.
The same thing happened to IoJ, like the ride up to T1 built this wave of momentum, and then it just washed away... I'm not trolling, I'm serious. I was eating dirt in that first matchup and BG killed me more times than any other server ever had. What's the deal?
in term of PPT , Jq rarely got it more than BG since Weekdays start though . . . . .

I jumped into EB for a few mins before bed late last night (NA central time zone) and there were about 60-80 people doing grub while Durios was under attack. The only commander I saw was there telling people to build siege to kill the grub faster. That has pretty much been my overnight EB experience the last 3 weeks: either a ghost town or a carebear cluster*. From a solo queue perspective it's quite pointless being there during that time period.

It's coverage.
We can bring it in 2 maps, maybe 3 but that's it. We are always pushed off one map completely. Add in the fact that yes, the usual rats jumped shit after losses and we're still in that prime time span for people to leave new MMO's.

This BG does well during teh weekends, they smashed during the weekends a few weeks ago, but once the weekends are over its a coverage war, the server with the most coverage wins, doesn't matter how good their players are, or their commanders, or their strategy. That is the nature of the beast.

Agreed, nothing for me has come close to pre CU(even pre NGE was bearable) SWG so far and I have played lots of other games. Played on Farstar, main was same nick, had two accounts one of which was an armorsmith, built a player city on the proceeds of that. The crafting system alone was the best ever in a MMO, no other crafting system has come close, true sandbox game.

WvW is a population battle. Take the score 4 hours after reset and that's pretty much the extent of what skill, commanding, etc. matters.

To those BG who responded thoughtfully, thanks. My suspicion is that it snowballs. Gaps in coverage cause casuals to exit, causes points to drop, causes front running guilds to switch to SBI, causes fractures in the community.
I hate to say this, but JQ is the only server to go through that process and come out of the other side. I wish you guys luck. Hell, I wish US ALL luck (except SBI, who I wish boils upon).
Last thought... So, 4 special persistent world maps and hours upon hours of design and tons and tons of hype = not important, just a throw in for casuals? Ha. The Guild Wars franchise cut its teeth on PvP and is going to use WvW as their primary way of keeping players. It's only been a few months, and it is extremely difficult to add new stuff rapidly to ANY PvP due to balance issues. Give it time...

Anyone who doesn't believe this is delusional, gotta start looking past score and compacting to borderlands to ensure good fights for most servers.

Maybe people are simply seeing things for what they are. Our hopes, dreams, visions and desires regarding massive warfare is simply that, Fool's Gold.
Sounds more like general frustration with events that transpired in T1 /T2 have morfed into WvW is broken etc. World vs World by design is pretty solid. It just needs tweaking and some iterations. The main issues are population related which Arenanet has to address from various angles. Your personal assumptions doesn't really equate to any inference of Arena-net prioritization. Developers don't release details about all kinds of content at once. One release will deal with a portion of the content only. They would give specifics of content that is imminent or maybe a PvE dungeon that is at advanced stage of release. Devs are unlikely to share conceptual changes or plans that are still in early stages. Once they are comfortable and reached a milestone they would do so. Its highly unlikely one aspect of the game would be totally neglected especially as GW2 was heavily marketed for open world combat aspect. Always had to wait for staggered information release in any major MMO so I don't see the difference here.

MMAC was allied with SBI that much I do know and SBI is now winning. If you want our theory they were trying to break up JQ from the start, like an SBI metagame of sorts so they could take 1st. On JQ since MMAC arrived Menaace took a staff position on JQ.com and within two weeks TW left the server, there were two websites and a divided community, JQ's score was plummeting fast. The officers were always up to a lot of secretive stuff. He even put people like Bluntski "in charge" of MMAC just out of the blue and then MMAC"s original cast of officers sort of disappeared. I mean it's all speculation, but something fishy was going on. We are all in a guild with Bluntski now... and MMAC core are nowhere to be found. I'm sure they are back home on SBI where they started, and to be honest breaking up a server intentionally isn't beyond what Menaace was capable of, I've played many games with MMAC. That's sort of the norm.

SBI and Jade Quarry have a whole heck of a lot of great guilds that enjoy WvW for the sake of competition and score jockeying really does not factor into things one little bit. Keep up the good fight and see ya all out on the battlefield. Cheers,
