I went tto make a new Sylvari theif and wanted to fit with lore. For the class I made him a dark grey with purple glow and tints but I do not feel this fits lore. What would be the most lore appropriate colors? I figure green would be but there are so many options.

If you *can* make it, it's lore-appropriate.  I've personally seen several NPCs with similar coloration running around.  Green is archetypical, but only because it's the cliche "plant" color.  Actual sylvari come in a variety of hues.

So would black and purple be correct for a sylvari then? I seem to recall only evil ones were that color.

The beauty of character creation is that it allows you to create the character you'd like to run around looking like. Any options that you see available on character creation will be fit in with the lore for that race. That's why you won't see a human with spotted fur running around any time soon, or a Sylvari with horns and weird feet.

Black and purple would be correct for a Sylvari, but that doesn't necessarily mean they were part of the Nightmare Court.. they'll just sort of look like it. If I recall correctly, Nightmare Court sylvari are just dark greens, blacks and purples and that applies more to the armor that they wear - but their "skin" will follow the same color gradient/palette.

I decided to just make mine black and dark purple. Hopefully I do not regret it but it doesnt feel lore fitting to me for a good guy. But i guess i can justify by saying it is a shadowy spirit type of thing.

Any other input is still welcome as I am still trying to decide really what to do.

Purple and black (well, really just so dark as to appear black) are both actual plant colours. For example, Sempervivum, Purple Knight, Ornamental Sweet Potato, some types of Oxalis, etc.

They're less common than green plants, but they certainly can fit the lore as something that grew.
