John Peters has answered a few questions while running around in the Heart of the Mists.  He revealed some juice tidbits including talking about some of the upcoming patch notes.  He revealed that the patch notes will be almost 5 pages long and includes lots of bullet points for Rangers and Mesmers as well as a huge number of bug fixes.  The full list and bonus picture can be found on Reddit posted by iomegadrive1 (give them some Karma love).
According to Jon Peters in the mists a few hours ago:
  • The profession part of the upcoming patch notes is roughly 5 pages long.
  • ~16 bullet points for rangers.
  • ~30 bullet points for engis.
  • Mesmers saw the fewest number of changes.
  • “Tons” of bug fixes.
  • “Some” balance changes.
  • Portal is a cool ability that’s important to the game but has some problems (whatever that means from their perspective idk).
  • The ability to use custom dyes in pvp is possibly coming in a December patch.
  • Broken treb and lord announcements should be fixed soon.
  • Target of target and player cast bars are low priority but something they might look at in the future.
  • Probably no hope of ever letting us disable the terrible skill queue.
  • Custom rankings, obs mode, etc. all “on the way” (as usual).”

Sorry if this has already been posted.

The way I am reading it, the note about mesmer receiving the fewest amount of changes seems to imply every class will be seeing some changes.

that's how I'm reading it as well, although I'm not sure what constitutes the 30 things they are changing in the engineer without a complete overhaul...whiners probably got their way again "waaahhhhhh I want my sigils on kits waaahhhhh"

mesmer's only change will probably be the portal, maybe a couple other things but as I've been leveling mine recently it seems quite balanced to me.

I hope they overhaul necros and make certain aspects of them more friendly (looking at you minion AI).

The feeling is mutual on the PvP side. :P

They've hardly touched PvP since launch. It's still missing lots of basic features.

They've hardly touched the game period since launch. Most of the stuff that was broken then is still broken.

Every time they nerf something across those 5 pages, I'm taking a shot of whiskey. If it's the full 5 pages, I may have to move on to the Toilet Duck.

Yes of course.
All these patches were just for the lulz, right?

People are either completely blind or simply want to do everything to bring more hate on ArenaNet.
They have fixed loads of stuff since release.

On the web, it is cool to be a hater. I mean what will forums be like if people did not hate for the sake of everyone else hatin (to a lesser extent the opposite being true as well).

Some profession traits are still broken, and have been since BWE1. How hard is it to make things like traits and skills work properly?

Then there are basic features missing from PvP which 99% of games launch with, like leaderboards, voice chat, observer mode, and private servers. These aren't daunting to implement either. They're very generic features that should be easy to implement.

Leaderboards and "Observer Mode" might be, but you need to remember that this isn't some FPS, the landscape is different.  Consider that the most played PC game in the world, League of Legends, only just got a spectator mode and still does not have private servers or voice chat.  Voice chat isn't just some "feature", integrated voice chat leads to a certain expectation that not all players can meet, having a mic.  It's a major hassle that requires servers of it's own to be bought and ran.  Most in-game voice chat sounds terrible and has little to no customization.  I think players who use voice chat commonly tend to prefer to use their own voice chat because of the massive lack of quality.

I'm not sure what you mean by Private Servers.  I'm assuming you mean some sort of LAN party feature.  And this, again, is not an FPS.  At it's core, it's still an MMO.

LoL is the most played PC game in the world because it's free. The reason it is poorly supported is because it was developed by a small studio with limited funds. Team Fortress 2 was a wasteland before it went F2P, now it's got an enormous population.

I agree GW2 isn't an FPS, but that doesn't mean it can't borrow features from FPS games. Private servers are in the works (thankfully), so clearly Anet is aware of such features. What I mean by private servers is servers that guilds or individuals can rent (for a monthly fee) and have full control over their settings.

and WoW didn't get voice chat and other things that have been listed until years after it came out. Your point? Added onto that, League has made millions of dollars in the past little year alone I'm betting, it's anything but poorly supported, especially with a new champion every two weeks.

Bunker specs will be nerfed no doubt. The guardian is the reason the metagame is so stale right now.

I agree on the traits, it sucks to build around something and then notice it doesnt work as described in the game tooltips.

The second part of the post is flat out wrong, This is a MMO(RPG), you're thinking of a fps shooter. MMO genre games usually do not have those features at all and you should not expect them (even if some like voice chat might come or leader boards arent too far fetched).

Actually the spike thiefs were the problem, thats why all the guardians went full bunker builds in the first place, everyone seems to forget that, and also bunker builds were already nerfed last 2 patches...

Now spike thieves will be nerfed which was the problem in the first place, that and stealth bugs.

I have a feeling though since guardians have been nerfed in every single patch pretty much there will be more nerfs in this one. They already broke the guardian greatsword so half the time your auto attacking, cooldowns are very long and made symbols pretty crappy plus nerfed the hell out of retaliation. Retaliation was needed but the rest was over kill. Not sure what is left to nerf, they nerfed guardian damage, defense, cc, buff's, greatsword skills..what else is left? lol.

Spike thieves are a problem in hot-join. Bunkers dominate tournaments. You can have no thieves on your tournament team and still win, but you need at least two bunkers to even be competitive.

I do find it strange that they've nerfed the guardian's offensive capabilities so much though. Anet has said time and time again that they don't want people to play bunker specs, but then they went ahead and nerfed guardian damage.

I still wonder why people say that rangers are boring. I'm playing ranger since day 1 and still playing it with passion. I've tried axe/horn, greatsword, short and long bow. All those are pretty balanced and fun. We have no problem to survive/kill mobs. If you use Entangle combine with an axe, you will be able to crowd control 6-7 mobs while your pet will tank most of the damage.

Meh, compared to ele it's just boring. Sit in one place auto attacking and pressing 3 and 5 every so often. Traps for AoE. Maybe it's different for PvP but I can't enjoy it xD

If they're doing anything with Portal, I hope the result makes it impossible for mesmers to facilitate total dominance of one team in the Obsidian Sanctum.

I don't see how it's "important to the game".
