*This thread is now old - Moderator please remove it if you can :) We'll use this one instead: http://www.guildwars...ou-naeuoceanic/

Right now we're in a hot seat dealing with tier1 coverage problem. We do have some fine EU guilds right now but we're lacking NA guilds and Oceanic guilds real bad. The queue time is close to no existance. We're really need you, NA/Oceanic people! [*21/12/12 Now we need EU guilds!]

Advantage of being part of Blackgate:
-No WvW queue time for NA/Oceanic/EU
-Strong EU presence so that u never have to worry about your keep when you sleep!
-Being in tier1 or close to every week, able to grab all fun WvW actions!
-Plenty of PvE, many people farming events/dragons/curse shore etc so easy to lv up/farm stuff
-Beastgate! We've been called beast for a reason! We fight like no tomorrow!

Being part of our awesome team fighting for blackgate! Our queue time is close to no existing for NA/Oceanic, outmanned every borderland and you wonder why we're still able to put up a show in tier 1!? Because all the guilds in Blackgate fight harder and more skilled than you think! Just join us, and have some fun together!

That was blown out of proportion by people from other servers who were scared of "Stackgate." Blackgate did not receive that many transfers in the first place, and some guilds have either retired or transferred out of the server so I guess this topic is necessary. Always itching for a better fight, and I have a feeling we'll be seeing you again after booting SoS out of tier 1.

The OP is one of those transfers. However, the guilds that transferred to BG, while very skilled and focused on WvW, were relatively small. BG had attrition, within those very guilds to an extent (TRF where are you!!!!!!!), but also within the core of the server, especially during NA primetime. It was almost like people said "well BG got all these awesome transfers, since I was already bored with the game I guess now is a good time to quit". It seriously feels that way.

We had a couple NA guilds officially retire, one transfer to SoS, and the rest? Eff if I know. They're just not there. We went from reasonably long queues on the weekends to none ... literally overnight. It's actually scarily like the last time BG was in T1, during the 24 hour format. Like overnight, everyone quit or transferred, and before we knew it the server was in T4 fighting GoM and Yak's Bend (no offense to those guys .. I still love Yak's).

Anyhoo .. yeah ... the core of BG WvWers want to compete at the top level of the game, and all of a sudden our numbers went ... POOF!

Blackgate is a fun server and overall a lot of good people run on it. We could use some more NA/Oceanic presence so that we can be more competitive in T1.

We never got as many transfers as these forums blew it up to be and some of our long time guilds either left or retired. So getting a few more friends to run around with during NA time would be awesome. Plus if you get on early NA time some you will get to see DEYS alliance in action.. :)

Nowaday Lion Arch doesnt have that much people during Oceanic timezone anyway unless it's halloween event or some sort. But in the event case i bet it's all the same Lion arch on any server. We're now trying our best to bring our people out to war but a new organized WvW NA guilds will be very much needed/appreciate!

While I don't like recruiting more guilds instead of mobilizing our own forces, I can agree that this is the situation as it is. At this age in the game, people are losing interest. Yes, there are content additions, but those are largely a PvE draw. There is less incentive for players to WvW every day, and it is even more demoralizing when you are outmanned constantly during your own prime time. If you are an organized WvW guild on NA or Oceanic time, we would be happy for you to call us home.

It takes a lot of humility to ask for help as we are not asking this for any reason other than to compete. Our server has a hell of a lot of fight. This is our third week in Tier 1, even with serious participation issues that are, in my opinion, worse than the other 2 current tier 1 servers. When we are evenly manned, Blackgate consistently performs as the frontrunner in Tier 1, but as the the week progresses, we have fewer and fewer players on the field and it makes it so that we cannot compete. There are a sparse few NA guilds, including my own, that contribute solid numbers every night of the week. We would love nothing more than to fill our deficiencies with players that are already on our own server, since there are thousands, but there is no denying that a dedicated WvW guild or two in each of these time zones would make a world of difference.

At the end of the day, we don't want to fill every map 24/7, but what we do want is to have the numbers on the field to have a competitive chance week after week. This is no ploy to be "stacked", it is simply a genuine request for help. All we want are good fights and close matches. Win or lose, if you think that Blackgate could be a good home for you, we would be happy to work with you.

BG definately has some skilled WvW players just lacks numbers.   LotD is always looking for new blood and BG can use NA/EU guilds.   All the stackgate hype was nothing but forum propaganda.  The game in general has lost some players, which added to our attrition of guilds to other servers.

The problem as I see it, is GW2 is such a casual game with no monthly fee that we lose players to other games or expansions for long periods of time, or until an event comes up.  The players we have now are very good, but we are losing the battle of attrition.  I think this will become worse and worse as time goes on.  Unless we have something new added to WvW in the content patches worth while (like custom gear only available in WvW) in the updates, this will be an issue for all servers and will only get worse.  People need more motivation than just being Tier 1.

Now all the server labelled high. It's time to decide to move to Blackgate!
Let start out fresh together! No queue in NA/Oceanic. And very strong EU guilds we have already so no need to worry much during your night! Plus awesome website we have here at www.blackgatewvw.com

No point to join top end server with long queue time and many PUGs, let build up blackgate together with us! We'll go tier1 together next next week!

People here speak of attrition.  Do you not think that happens to other servers as well?  Do you not think other servers are losing people at about the same rate as BG?  So why does BG need to stack more players and guilds when going against other servers who are suffering from attrition?

I am not sure what BG wants to accomplish.  At what point will you all be happy?  How much coverage and guilds do you need?  Do you need to have maxed out points all the time?

At some point you will just have to decide to be happy with what you have and conquer or lose with the community you have Frankensteined together.

Well if you arent looking to transfer, this post isnt for you. You can have TC recruitment thread elsewhere, and i wouldnt bother it myself. We all need to recruit. RIght now you're just assumed we have awesome coverage as many other people been assumed. Do you realise we actually have less than you think? It's been outmanned everywhere except EU timezone mate. Come see it for yourself before saying anything about our server coverage. So yea, dont just bash in our post without proof.

I will not respond to you more cause it's out of topic.

Because there's always a point where people say, "You know what... I don't want this server to be better." Right?

By this point, as far as I know queue is non-existent for all servers (except maybe for a few hours immediately at reset). One or two individual maps may have queue as players focus on those rather than spreading out evenly, but by and large if you want to WvW, you can. So I don't think it can be used as transfer reason anymore.

As for attrition, unless Anet manages to improve WvW significantly, I guess soon enough all WvW-ers need to consolidate to only 3-6 servers if what they want to experience is the mass pvp, not a few small groups in a map that is too big such that they could barely meet and fight each other.

I still seeing one of your fellow server mate said that your queue time is 30min-an hour so please double check lol. May be we all have none-less queue time. But what Blackgate trying to fix is that we definitely need NA/Oceanic guilds not only because of queue time but also because the outmanned buff. The most we can fit is one map without outmanned buff (but the rest is pretty blank) but still we're far less number than the opposition in our timezone.

Queues were still largely nonexistent this evening. Part of this may be due to the new content that was released, but another part of it is related to the fact that we don't have the numbers that we had even 3 weeks ago.

We still need strong NA and SEA/Oceanic guilds of any size to help fill these gaps. All servers are on "High" at the moment, so now would be a good time to come over. Additionally, DiE, an Oceanic guild, has left Blackgate for Sea of Sorrows. This creates an even larger hole in our coverage that we would really love to see filled. WvW participation is down across many servers. If you are a focused WvW guild or player, Blackgate would be an excellent place to call home to meet those ideals.

If you have questions, please feel free to visit our site at blackgatewvw.com or message myself or other Blackgate leadership on these forums. If you are an individual player looking for better WvW as well, every person makes a difference and you would be welcome (my guild, and many others in all time zones are actively recruiting).

[ELTE] is still on Blackgate. Not fielding a ton of players, but they are still here.

In other news, we are still looking for players. Get some of the best WvW across all servers at BG with the unique opportunity to make a huge impact immediately working with coordinated guilds.

Blackgate is thankful for the guilds that have answered the call so far; [Foo] and [Sky], among others. We would still greatly appreciate it if other guilds considered us if they are looking for a new home. We have an outstanding WvW community and are still in need of NA and Oceanic guilds. We have had a few guilds come over, but these are not a large amount of players. Our queues are still very much a thing of the past. Even on reset, Eternal Battlegrounds has a queue of 10 minutes at the most and queues are instant at most points during the rest of the week.

We just had a epic defense in SM for 3 hours continuous from both IoJ and SoR still with 0-5min cooldown on Eternal BG (border = 0 queue). So yea as Riven said, NA/Oceanic is still in pretty much needed. Thanks again for all who answered the call to help but we do still have many rooms for more!
