It sucks but there is nothing that can be done about it.
At least CoF is fast and easy to farm.

This is just a logical deduction.

Might be you lose out on the stats, but it's still better than salvaging imo.

Got karma armor?/weapons? Sell it back and get a refund of your karma when you out-level it... Got that 64k Karma armor? Don't like it? Refund!

there can be a million things happening outside of the game that can induce unintentional carelessness. when i play GW2 i leave the the cares of the owrld behind, its a game, its meant to be care free. to an extent of course.
besides, a lot of people might not have all day to farm a dungeon 2-3 times. give em a break.

This.
Don't people think to actually double check before they just click buttons?

Can you do that? I mean, the gear is soulbound to that one character...

There is one annoying thing that I think is a major cause for people that buy the wrong armour class: sometimes light is on top, sometimes medium is on top and sometimes heavy is on top... If the order of the armour shown was always the same, across all merchants, I think you'd see less mistakes.

It's dumb to be against such an implementation. I never bought something by mistake, because I double check, but I did sell a few things I realized I still wanted and was happy that the buy back option was there (and that it didn't cost more to buy it back).

It doesn't need to be like that, it could be on a timer, say you buy the wrong armour, you have an hour to sell it back or then it's too late. If you equip the armour you can't sell back.

Yea you can. Safest way is to transmutate the armor to a fine quality armor you bought of the TP. It will still say soulbound but that piece you can put into the bank and picked out by another character. Then that character can again transmutate that piece of armor onto his own armor and wear it.
It takes a few stones, but it's worth it imo. It's the only way to make an armor consisting out of several order pieces too btw.

I've made the mistake of buying the wrong karma item before. It wasn't expensive and thus no big deal.
If it had been an expensive karma item, I surely wouldn't have gone "Ooh clickety click" on it. I triplecheck these things.
Honestly if you make a mistake, that's really bad luck, but there should not be a system that taxes the game in favour of careless mistakes.
These things happen to you once and then you learn to pay attention. If circumstances make it so you can't focus, then I suggest you don't try to buy expensive stuff at that particular moment.
I'm of course not against consistency in placement of armors. I do agree that light should always be on top and heavy at the bottom.

Nope, not buying it, people put in time and effort into farming same dungeon for 3 times/ day for 1-2 days per piece of armor but don't care where they click their tokens away are not punished... just like some one who deleted their expensive exotic not Punished - just are careless... and you can not engineer away the carelessness of people...
... what people are asking here is a bit silly because they are asking for is to make all high end Karma/Token items into a deposit with 100% refund when you do not want your armor/weapon anymore...

well that's not necessarily the case.. if you've been watering at the mouth and playing for hours on end.. I can see clicking the wrong set on accident- a buyback wouldn't hurt anything- they are just getting what they wanted in the first place =]

I understand, but where do you draw the line? What is rare or expensive enough to warrant a confirmation? what if that which is a safety net for some turns out to be a huge annoyance to many.

Personally I have a twitch and in many a game in the past I've accidentally clicked on things one too many times leading to some rather negative results. Heck even just making fine adjustments for jumping puzzles and dodge rolling off cliffs as a result lead me to disable the double-tap feature. If such a safety net feature would be annoyance to some Anet could do the logical thing; make it an option. Options are rarely a bad thing when it comes to customization.
