Well I am not sure if this is the right thread to post this in, but I need your help either way. I am currently playing on Whiteside Ridge with my wife but to be honest it's a bit empty and not really shining in the WvW fights nor the PvE department. Here comes the problem, We do not want to go to the highest populated server or the best WvW server either. We want to find something in between, with decent, english speaking mature ppl (well thats maybe asking too much but you get the idea), where we can go to WvW or PvE and enjoy ourselves. Can you guys suggest us a good server that would/could fit our needs? Thank you in advance.

Aurora is also empty. With that in mind, I'd be looking for servers that are higher on the list.

I play on piken square and have yet to see an empy pve zone. No matter what time and what zone  I play I see a decent number of players playing all around.

WvW kinda depends against whom we're paired. Sometimes we do great, sometimes not so much!

Doesn't really matter, I play on JQ which is always "high" on the list and there are 0 players in every zone up to 75-80, except for the hordes of bots.

I saw that list but honeslty, you cannot really decide purely based on that. Some servers are mostly french, some are german and so on, we want an english speaking server which is not full nor empty, that list will not tell me a lot of things I "expect" from the server which I described in my original post.. That list is merely an indicator, or a starting point, to help you begin choosing, but not a solution but thats okay, I would like to hear other ppl's opinion anyway, We do not want to hop server again because the list was wrong if you know what I mean.

Thank you, I will consider piken surely. How are the ppl over there? Preferred language?

I cant speak for any of the EU servers. But, most, if not all, NA servers have seen a decline on the PvE side. Alot of players only main one toon. So they are finished with 90% of PvE explorable areas and may never return.  Another portion of players have stopped playing, because its not enough like WoW or they hit 80 and think thats it and uninstall the game. And, you still have alot of players jumping from one server to the next.

I mention all this because things are still in a state of flux. My guess is that server pops will not normalize until after transfer fees and guesting have been in place a few months. And a few months after that, Anet may even close the three least populated servers. Until then, look at the latest WvW server rankings and find a mid tier server and try it out.

can I ask you how you could possibly know all of this? its impossible to know for sure if your own server population is declining as opposed to spreading out, focusing on different things or simply players reducing / changing their playing schedule. Cant imagine how this would be possible to do for multiple servers as well!

I have very limited posting ability for today but I would like to ask you, please stay on topic, do not fight each other, thats is not the intention of this topic. I would really love to hear consrtuctive replies. And please read the replies before you post. Thank you!

Edit: Well currently I am thinking about Desolation and Far Shiverpeaks. Yeah these seems very highly populated but honestly these seem to be the ones that fits our needs. What do you guys think about these two? Pros Cons maybe?

I'd actually consider joining a US server.  Firstly, lag isn't an issue (at least for me, I have zero issues playing from the UK.)  Secondly, if you want good WvW fights then your options are basically either join a highly ranked EU server and have long queues, join a mid tier server and experience lots of 1 sided fights as you get bounced up and down brackets or join a strong US server and add to its daytime presence which will give you no queues but really good fights (at least in the top 3 tiers.)  PVE is also pretty active on most of them during those windows (playing at 2pm, for example, I find Tarnished Coast to be at least as busy as Piken Square was.)  By EU Evenings there are lots of people, although some low level zones just don't have that much demand.

Obviously I'm biased but if you want a mature community then I'd give either Tarnished Coast or Piken Square serious consideration - they are the unofficial RP servers which has fostered a great community with very little of the immaturity that I found on other servers when testing them.

i play on Tarnished Coast after recommendation of some friends from swtor.  after i rolled on there i found out it was the unofficial - official RP server?  idk thats what they were saying.  ive actually seen some RPing being done in wayfarer hills.  but anyway, its packed.  its weird, you'll see maybe 3-5 people running around here and there doing quests, then a DE pops and suddenly players start coming out fo the wood works, reviving you, killing the boss etc.  its really impressive and makes me feel like ive got a good home.

I wish i could get on Tarnished coast, I've been staying up tell the wee hours of the morning trying to transfer but it's always full, I'm so tired of my current server. After hearing nothing but good things about TC i was excited to transfer but its always full no matter how many times i refresh. Does anyone else have any suggestions on a US PvE Heavy server with a friendly community?

Contrary to what was stated in this thread earlier, Aurora glade is far from empty.  We had multiple overflow servers for the halloween event.  We also have a server wide WvW event coming during this week.  It is an english speaking community that is aiming at building a strong and lasting community.

Our new community website just went live and already has over 100 registered users:  www.auroraglade.com

We are currently also winning our current matchup in our tier.

I would recommend anyone looking for a well balanced community to look no further than Auroraglade server.

Same here.  I rolled on Aspenwood due to some former WoW guildies taking residence there, only later did I find out that TC was the unofficial RP server.  Its not that I'm a rabid RPer, I do it on a casual basis, but what I have learned from several different MMO titles that the RP servers (official or unofficial) always drew a type of player I got along with very well, and tended to have stronger communities.  Every night I try and see if I can transfer, every night its full.  

I'm just speculating here mind you, but my feeling is that A) the bots are part of the problem.  On Aspenwood, they roam in small packs (usually Rangers sadly enough) and despite reporting them, I've seen the same names of alskdfhasdrlf (i make a note of the player id) running as before a week later, still running the same loop often    Once a player declares a server as his home account, that takes up a permanent slot, if said player no longer plays, his "spot" is still reserved on that server, so even if you have half the server's population going idle and leaving the game for whatever reason, it still registers as full even though its active player roster has dropped.  Again, its just speculation, if someone would care to set me straight on the matter I'd be appreciative.  I can only guess as to why my current server that I'm stuck on is largely empty in all but one starter zone and then perhaps endgame zones.

Anyway, point being, wish I could move my toons to Tarnished Coast as well, but don't think that's going to be a option unless something significant changes in server architecture.

i think server mergers will happen soon.  not in a negative sense, but just to consolidate a little bit.  its wont be a major merger, but i think it needs to be done maybe in a few months.

Yea I play on JQ also, and see lots of players in the lower zones. Bots are still around but nothing like the hordes that used to roll around the first month of the game.

I'll also throw my pennies in with a recommendation for Tarnished Coast.  The overall chit chat in /map is a few steps above the norm, people I run into seem nice enough and most zones I'm working through or running across have players crawling out of everywhere to tackle DE content, with a few exceptions.

I will keep trying to get on TC, maybe theres a certain time when its not as populated? the last time i saw it was on High was at 3:39am during one of the weekdays.

Same situation in Gandara...every day I see less and less players in high PvE zone...I think Anet need to change that,decide which one is PvE or PvP...or change number of servers
