Hello, my name is Profitsports and I am from Stormbluff Isle. Currently, we are the number one ranked server in North America. However, due to the influx of many players on Jade Quarry (the server created by the Reddit.com zerg) and the constant threat to destroy the number one server, coupled with people's loss of interest and boredom of the same matchup week after week, our server will need help from the AWESOME SAUCES of Europe and ASEAN to stay in the top spot.

Our commanders always say the European ASEAN timezones are very good at fighting and we should not take them lightly. We should join forces and build a strong network.

We may end up in second place this week, but with your help we may finish first. If you like to farm badges, have a server who will defend or follow you to help, and have EPIC fights defending the NUMBER ONE SPOT, please come to SBI. We need you guys!

Our server is awesome to the bone and we love to have fun more than anything. Please join SBI and help ward off all enemies.

I'm a SBI residence since the first day. I want to thank to you and WM for your countless effort to win the rank in wvw battlefields. However I have a concern of your recruiting post. It's great to see more Euro/Asia timezone players join in, but to provoke or arise the confict between nationality is NOT a good idea. I'm currently living in Taiwan and people would not join SBI to fight JQ because you are trying rally ppls to against them. I would rather emphasize the unity and stability of the SBI server rather than being aggressive to the JQ server. In fact, I'm a Taiwan guild leader and I would be happy to see more players from Asia timezone fighting together under the flag of SBI. I do hope you can alter your post and make it more positive and less aggressive. Again, thanks to you and WM fighting on wvw. Keep going.

If War Machine want to make official post you will see Bahaness / Jang Gun / Amaranth of War post.

profitsports has no ill intent in the post, he just phrase it poorly. He is enthusiastic about SBi.

Every night in oceanic/SEA primetime SBI sits on at least +450. Why would SBI need more "ASEAN" players? If anything for better competition, guilds from the regions he mentioned should split amongst other top tier servers to have better fights. Some EU might enjoy it here but any asians, oceanics or whatever will only be hitting doors and fighting against their zergs for tags on the undermanned opposing servers.

Why would Euro players come to a NA server? So they can fight the un-godly long que's? How about the huge latency issue's? From my experience (and im American) being on a EU server is far more competative. I challange any alliance/ guild in the top 3 tiers on NA to transfer to EU and try to take down Blacktide. If you are up for the challange and you think your alliance is deep enuff feel free to contact me.

P.S WM is nothing against guilds like Green Fire (EU)

agree, SBI could use competiton in the SEA timezone. EU timezone could still use coverage.

What queues? Has anyone on a major NA server sat in a long Q at anytime other than Friday nights in the past 2 weeks? The EU/NA servers are in the same place, so latency is not a real arguement.

P.S.: How bout Green Fire comes over here and says that to SBI's face.

I use to play on JQ, when my patients grew tired of sitting in que's for hours at a time I transfered to an International EU server. The game play/ compatition is far better and best of all no que's. Why do ppl keep saying servers are located in the same place becouse there not. If you know for a fact they are then link will be much appreciated, but I got a hunch your just posting what you've read from someone else that in- turn was posting what someone else wrote. Its a crazy circle of un-factual b.s.

1. Your primary purpose here is to derail a SBI recruitment post into an EU recruitment post, and thats damn noble.
2. Your counter to my unfounded claim is that you have never read anything saying otherwise, which is a logical fallacy.

so it seems like your points are invalid too... how long have you been in JQ to be able to say that gameplay over there is much better? during your JQ stay, were u able to play on different timezones (TZ)? were u able to play all maps especially EB? or you were just stuck on queue for most of the time since you are on NA tz? FYI, all NA server has no queue during Euro times and you said it yourself your non-euro so you dont fall on that category, so this is more likely personal opinion? I can almost guarantee that not even your #1 server in Euro can beat our top 4-5 NA servers just because of them lacking coverage 24/7 and to say people have better gameplay there than here is DENIED... we have organized Euro guilds that transferred here and brought the turtle tactic and it was countered in a swift... you're not part of the Green Fire guild and you havent really seen WM in action as much or part of their guild to be making comparisons, yes? picture this (sample below is just SAMPLE):
Server A = TZ 1 + TZ 2 + empty TZ 3
Server B = empty TZ 1 + empty TZ 2 + TZ 3

... let me know, when u get the more logical answer if A should join B or B should join A instead... if not keep it to urself

whoa whoa since when did Reddit have a presence on Jade Quarry? Reddit has TEST Guild Please ignore on Isle of Janthir and Karma+Veterans of the Mists on Crystal Desert with finally Dissidents on Tarnished Coast. And those are the big ones with the most players.

A quick look at http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/ sidebar of Reddit based guilds shows nothing on Jade Quarry.

On topic: Actually I think SBI has the more non Americas time people of the 3 servers, so I don't get this. I'm playing in JQ at the moment, but played SBI a lot; and we are having problems with SBI at that times, being outnumbered.

no he's being serious. and there's nothing wrong with his post: there are TWO type of people who play wvw.

to WIN or to have GOOD FIGHTS.
you can have derive fun from either of the two above. WIN = highest score = longer epeen = fun (i'm not being sarcastic, having a longer epeen do make you feel good.); GOOD FIGHTS = tough battles regardless of victory or defeat = 2 hours of fighting seem like 10 minutes = satisfaction = fun.

his definition of "fun" wvw is to WIN; this post provide excellent evidence for that. statements such as "help us keep our #1 spot from xxx server" are dead giveaways. There's nothing wrong about his interpretation of fun. It's just that having everyone stacking on 1 server tend to lead to a lot of PvD which puts off the players who enjoy GOOD FIGHTS. This lead to dissatisfaction which may result in leaving the server or quitting gw2 altogether.

sidenote: most of the "best" guilds play wvw for GOOD FIGHTS, not to WIN. if they leave, it'll be hard to fill that void.

And therein lies the rub ... something that the people who only play to WIN don't understand. Stack a server to the point where you never lose and players/guilds get bored or fed up with queues. Boredom and queues leads to either quitting or transferring to another server. Thus the whole drive to always WIN, has a decent chance at causing you to eventually LOSE.

ASEAN stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations which includes places such as Phuket or islands in the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Brunei, and Bali

Theres no such thing as an ASEAN time zone, as ASEAN is an organization.

Jade Quarry was made by the reddit.com zerg? Really? I was never aware of that as somoene who has played on JQ since day 1. My understanding is that it was the server of choice for DAoC / Warhammer vets. That does not seem to be the case either. JQ seems filled with noob zerg guilds lately.

I notice that a lot of the smaller/mid sized guilds have stacked Stormchump Isle to comingle with likeminded folk.

This development alone makes the Stormchumps a formidable foe.

A storm is brewing within one of the guilds on JQ.

Most of Reddit did not start on JQ, and who knows where they are today. JQ was the place for WAR and DAoC vets. However most of them jumped ship when we got the zerglets and bandwagonders from the HoD and TA breakup. Our community went to hell in days. The old timers hated it and left JQ, that simple. Some of us are still there but honestly, we keep to ourselves now.

So yeah the OP got that wrong.

Not sure why SBI is advertising for oceanic coverage when that is the time they are strongest already. /shrug

My advise to you kind sir is to lay back on the recruitment. As soon as you have enough powers to have around the clock coverage you will be guaranteed the #1 spot, and along with that, comes the next HoD. For the future of your server and the game, you should strive for balance, and having more players in the 'ASEAN' timezone is contrary to that goal imho. It would be sad to see SBI fall like HoD, so please be careful on what you wish for, because you just might get it.

It's not really going to matter.  SoS will be T1 next week and so you'll have two or maybe three weeks of pain before SoS puts you down to T2.

  Just for clarity....

  There are no queue's and zero latency for EU folks on NA servers.

   Not one of my EU people has had an issue.

   As for the queue's, the only queue we have on SBI, which is top ranked at the moment, is Friday night after the resets.

   If SBI has no queue issues, I doubt very much any other NA server would, either.

With the drop overall in WvW it might be a good idea for EU guilds to return to their EU home servers, less tears there, less forum warriors as well. Easier to recruit good people on that side of the pond as well in comparison to some that think they are "awesome", bit heavy on the stereotypes i know but still.


As for SBI recruitment, let them if they really feel they need more to maintain their top position. Although don't think they will attract competitive players in comparison to band wagoners at this current point. As an easy victory due to numbers each round will create the opposite effect as PvP people dislike a predictable environment as it removes the excitement that comes from PvP.

SBI do has a vacuum period in a day,  mostly after the Korean players sleep. During that, the  ppt suffers a free falling.  Seems everything  got flipped at least once then, no matter how fortified it had been upgraded to be in our hands.
