1H Sword build

I really enjoy the sword in sPvP right now, but I'm not quite sure how to build.
There is only 1 trait directly affecting it (20% cooldown reduction) and I think thats kinda useless.
So here is my build for now, hope you guys can help me out ,-)

Any ideas?

We rangers don't have enought burst damage to go glass cannon. Is also true that we can't really go full glass cannon because we normally need 200 points of thoughness or vit on our trait lines for any build.
So I suggest you a more defensive, evade bunker with high power and high crit build. I'm actually testing it and I'm very happy with it. I can hold up to 3 players for 15-20 seconds and still deal some heavy damage to them. Kill backstab thieves and 1v1 without problem most of the classes.

Also, OP, I didn't look at your link because it forces the viewer to watch an add before being able to view the build. Sorry.

1h sword damage exceeds GS dmg by far! A lot faster attack speed, very easy to stick to enemies because of the root everybody is complaining about (it has it's good sides too!).
With QZ it's damn freaking awesome.
I just copy paste my explanation from the intothemists forum (best skill calc I've seen so far btw)
"Imho it offers nice survivability with good DPS and controll.
Freeze and immobilization lets your pet attack more frequently and your have protection and vigor up almost all the time!
You can swap RaO with Entangle (works a lot better against thiefs and others who tend to escape easily + 20% CDR on it)
I used this build for the past few days and won almost any 1v1 (except Defensive Elementalists, they take nearly no scratches
Even 1v2 is possible, at least you can survive a decent amount of time to defend points etc. pp.
Wolf + Raven not only offer great DPS but very nice (and needed) cc!
Switching them often results in constant quickness + Blind/Fear + Knockdown
Every been hit by a glascannon rifle warrior or something similar? Axe 5 makes them scream WTF?!
There is NO need to dodge the warriors F1 anymore for us
Same for LB Rangers, Double pistol Thiefs etc. pp.
It's a lot of fun to see them taste their own medicine!"

Raven can NOT hit anything that's moving. Just saying.

And yea, as much as I would like to use a raven, they're just all around inferior right now, at least for PvP. The only time I use my raven is when I'm running somewhere and that's just to get the swiftness from when it tries to attack something.
If you want a glass cannon pet, go with Jaguar. The damage from stealth is pretty insane.

Actually I tested raven F2 dmg vs. Jaguar stealth dmg (granted, only on dummies in the mist) and the Jaguar dmg was lower then the raven's. Also, since the F2 of the ravens have such a small casting time you can combine produce quite some burst with:
1st raven F2 -> swap to 2nd raven F2 again (quickness on swap helps)
One big plus for the raven imho is that many ppl do not recognize the attack pattern or when exactly to dodge.

I play GS , Sword/dagger and must say that the sword gives me a lot of survivability when fighting on a point. Combined with a dagger you have 3 evades at hand which are on very low CD. Not saying it is bunker-fit, but I can stay on a point with 2 - 3 ppl for quite some time and when I feel like leaving I switch to GS, clear target and eagle my way to freedom.
Everything stated above is totally depnding on the level of your enemy.. but every profession/build has to face this uncertainty.

I must admit that I haven't put a lot of "in field" testing effort into the jaguar yet. But since I use to cripple and/or stun my targets with dagger 5 and greatsword 5 before useing the F2 ability it rarely misses.
Will try out a few maps with a cat instead and see if I can notice any difference. (not saying that what you say is wrong btw - just want to see it for myself

I use both GS and sword/horn and swap between both quite often. Sword is amazing when used alongside RaO. Add in Horn #4 and you can get max stacks of might on your pet in seconds. Swap to GS #5 and pets f2, really pretty numbers will appear on your screen.
