Just some friendly advice. Too bad we can't bet against the market in this game...

IMO, part of the problem is that even though player econ in this game sucks players still tend to accumulate wealth and people would rather buy stuff than gather stuff, including currency exchange to avoid gathering.
Therefore, as long as they keep the bots surpressed, I don't really see this changing and prices will likely continue to rise.
I would be surprised if mobs in the new area didn't drop a decent spread of T6 rare stuff but you never know, ANet doesn't always impress me with their design or balance and simple things like this often seem to elude them.
ANet could alter drop rates to benefit players now that bots are becoming less of an economy wrecking factor but I'd bet that they won't since keeping prices high and items rare steers more people towards gem purchases (or 3rd party gold purchases but fewer bots can hurt that market as well) since players are generally lazy and would too often rather buy their way thru games vs playing them.

It's very practical, if you value gold over skill points for philosophers's stones. As a rough estimate 250 t5 + 25 t6 dust = ~30 t6...when t6 blood / scales are 15-20x more expensive than the t5, it becomes significantly profitable. Just make sure you don't throw your t6 pile back in the forge!

The sharks in water probably drop scales, but I killed about 50 of them during the weekend and only saw fin trash components droppping and items.
