Since I've messaged + emailed the appropriate people on the official forums without a response, I figured I could try to ask here...

About two days ago, I made the mistake of making very angry (although w/ minimal swearing, etc.) posts on the official forums regarding the recent rash of unjustified ingame bans - if you don't know about this recent issue you should check this thread: https://forum-en.gui...layer-Comments/

The more I look into it, the more it seems like the October (?) incident all over again.

Anyways, back to the point of this post: as a result of my posts (I can only assume), which have all been removed now, I'm temporarily suspended from the forums since 11/12.  Since there was no further information given to me & I have received no information despite contacting the appropriate people, I wanted to see if anyone who has had their forum access temporarily suspended in the past could give me an idea of how long that suspension is... or is it case dependent?

This is the first time I've ever been blocked on a forum before.  Worst week ever, first get wrongfully accused of & banned for botting, now this just for speaking my mind... add to that the fact that all other MMOs seem pretty bland after playing GW2.  sigh.

They last a week I'm pretty sure.

The mods there are too trigger happy if you ask me.  I spend more time suspended than not.

How hard is it to not break the most timid of the Forum rules Ive seen yet on an Official Forum of an MMO. Also... being "uprightly" suspended is when you have not posted anything at all and suddenly find yourself banned from forums all-together. If you admit to swearing among other things you were not blameless.

Actually, "minimal swearing" was precautionary; as far as I remember, my final posts did not contain swearing, and if I did at any point, I edit it out almost immediately (despite there being a filter, which I in no way attempted to circumvent) - unless I missed something.  

Either way, the point of this thread wasn't to dispute my suspension, it was to ask how long suspensions tend to last.  I can argue that I was innocent all day, but it won't change the fact that a mod decided to single me out for suspension among the dozens, if not more, of outraged customers posting similar, if not worse, things on those forums.  But in the end, none of that matters.  So please don't point fingers, especially when the topic has nothing to do with whether or not I deserved the treatment I was dealt.


Anyways, someone has answered the original question with a tentative estimation.  Thank you, Shroomhead Fred xD  I guess I won't be posting on the 3 days or older thread for tickets until 4 days after my ticket hits the 3 day mark... boy was that a mouthful x.x

Nobody kittening swears on the forum, so that can't be a reason for suspensions

Those forums are complete garpage. The illogical choice of forum layout alone is enough to turn me away. For some reason most offcial game forums tend to be like this. One good exception is the forum of Eagle Dynamics, but probably only because it's relatively small.

And I was probably suspended for calling them out for banning legitimate players for botting >.> But meh.  Tbh I would not be sticking around if I wasn't so hooked on the stupid game.. I have never seen innocent people being treated like criminals (this is regarding the ingame bans) in any type of community or game before.  

I really need an antidote to my addiction, it's my weakness in this battle for my account back D= It's like trying to haggle with someone who is selling something you really, really want at a ridiculous price.. the price in this scenario being your rights (i.e. due process and all that jazz, which I guess only really applies to countries that list that as a right), although based on the game's ToS, that right does not exist.  Fun times!

Back to sitting on "death row" awaiting my "re-trial" to prove my innocence, even if it's supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty" in the real world =[

Well, if you consider how pathetic their forum works, if your post is moved for a mod decision to merge threads, you receive infraction points, leading you to a ban. Funny huh? So, if you made 1 troll post and just later 3 post are merged, you're banned. Happened to me plently times. Such a cesspool of forum huh? Let's not mention the quote button disappearing, other bugs  etc. But back to the question: i was wondering the same, because from when i posted how to do a class action against Anet, mods closed my mouth asap. To keep me silent, daily i receive old posts moved and merged. As i explained, this keep adding infraction points prolonging your ban duration. Can be infinite and even lead to a forum's account terminated no more able to log and post at all. Depends.
Just remember the rule n.1 of their forum: you're allowed just to post everything lick them
"You're the best" "Anet best company on the world" I love your update" (as much is trash, you have to lie and keep your fake smile or you're banned).

You can make posts about decisions you don't like, you can't however, call someone out for being stupid beyond measure. They really should ease up on the moderation.

The OP has asked a question and the question has been answered. These forums are not a place for you to complain about how other forums are run. If you have a problem with those forums, take it up with the admins of those forums.
