Quick question I had for a while now. Does the greatsword 'Volcanus' fire effects works on guardian's skills. I was wondering because guardians already got blue effects when using GS skills, especially the second and fifth ones in which you spin around shooting blue projectiles. I know 'Sunrise' and 'Twilight' change them, but what about Volcanus?

I was about to go for Volanus but if the particle effects are messing up with the skill ones, then I might reconsider it.

If any of you guys saw it before on a guardian, please answer since there is no information nor footage about this. Thanks.

The flame remains as is.
I would reconsider your craft, vulcanus is an obsolete weapon, soon we will have ascended weapons, you could regret your waste of mats, vulcanus is not cheap.

Like most of the other mystic forge items, you would use them only for the skins. You can easily transmute them into higher stats while keeping the skin.

Ah well true. For who is owning one yet. We should see a lot of new cool weapons, maybe he could regret it because a cooler one is out. Just wait when new weapons will pop then craft. My suggestion.

The difference Ascended represents from Exotic is so minimal it's hardly worth considering. Unless the new Ascended weapons make the aesthetics of the current rare Exotics look mediocre, I don't think anyone will stop working towards them.

ascended is ok but i think the jewels are overated i reckon the stats will be minorly altered to show the next tier but its going to be mainly asthetic i reckon and the new upgrades will be available on these items

Really? Wasn't they with better stats? Guess you forgot that part
They said new weapons are coming, guess they will be uber cool, after all they are purple , should be shiny sparkly etc.
Ye, who is so fond of an old skin and didn't found any better, can craft old ones and reskin. Why not.

I doubt its just gonna be asthetic, remember Ascended is gonna be an actual type of rarity, so its gonna be rare/exotic/ascended/legendary. They are doing this to fill the huge gap between exotic and legendary. Better stats is better stats, regardless of how minor it is.

I meant it doesn't remove/change the original animation and color. But the result ye is a bit messy.

Why is everyone talking about ascended Weapons/armour when it has been stated by ANet that these could still be over a year away before we see them in game?

I dont know about you guys but sitting on hope for 12 months wishing a better skin comes available is just down right stupid, you'll earn the money they cost to create in under a month, so why start planning now?

Patience is a virtue you boys dont possess i guess?

PS - Only rings and back slots for the time being, the rest is coming in 'future updates', the next of which will be wintersday and contain no new ascended gear but purely wintersday themed

Guys please listen the the OP's request. There are plenty of topics to chat about this but not here.

And concerning your question. The animations will be the one belonging with the skin of the weapon. So if you transmute into Volcanus you will have the effects of Volcanus.

I'm sorry to bump an old thread but I thought it would save making an entirely new one. I've been thinking of going for a Volcanus for my Guardian, but (as with the OP) I'm concerned with how it might look when using skills (waving blue trails around, shooting blue bolts of fire etc etc). Does anyone have any screenshots or footage or any idea of what it looks like?

it doesn't change any of the particles of guardian skills (the blue theme), the only exception might be the auto attack (since it has a fire trail)

Should the video go down, rest assured it doesn't look at all bad with the combination of the sword's orange fire and the Guardian's blue skills. So don't let that put you off getting the sword.

I completely regard how minor it is.
If I find that I do not need agony resist, ascended gear will not be worth my effort to acquire regardless of better stats because the difference is negligible.

These people are holding off on getting stuff now in hopes of getting something different up to 12 months from now and you think they don't have patience?
