I'm at that stage in the game when money is still a concern, but I have enough to at least splurge on things that will be worthwhile in the long run. I've also been so miserly that I've gotten through the game with four characters to lvl80 on 8-slot bags alone.

I;m debating whether four 15-slot bags for 2g was a better deal than four 18-slot bags for 10g. It's 12 extra slots for 8g. A friend pointed out that it's not a terrible risk considering bags aren't soulbound and available for swapping between characters or even sold on the TP for minimal loss in the case of severe buyer's remorse.

That being said, what size bags does everyone use on their main character?

Additionally, has anyone found Oiled, Craftsman, and Equipment Bags/Boxes to be of any use?

I'd add a poll if I knew how.
I assume the appropriate place is Trader's Outpost considering it concerns the TP, crafting, and the economics of the game somewhat. Plus, General is full of Acendent-rage.

At the moment, I'm using the 10 slot wool bags. I know i can get better but i salavage what i get most of the time.

My lvl 80 main uses 12 slots and gets along fine with that size.  She farms a lot, and rarely runs out of room.  She sells junk and sends crafting mats to the bank a lot.  I like the variety of bags as well, but its not really mandatory.  And no, she has not bought any extra bag slots,

i have only 10 slot, though 2 of my toons have a couple 12 slot bags. i wanted bags for all my alts, and havent been bothered with crafting much anyway, and i have no idea what good bags on the tp cost but i dont care. i dont really find myself needing much more than what i have, probably because i salvage almost everything and so my bags stay relatively empty.

as for the special bags, i find most of them to be useless. the craft bags are no use because i can just deposit materials. the oiled is no use to me because i just let junk collect in the main bag, so that i dont have to worry about management at all. i do however use an equipment box on a couple of my toons, its very useful for weapon swapping between a 2-hander and dual wielding, as without it my offhand weapon would fall into the main bag all the time. i can see the value of invisible but personally dont need them myself.

I have 96 bag slots currently,
I want to add five more and up my total number of invisible slots to 20. But that damn 10g rune of holding is the barrier.

Its been super hard to fill them up, even with around 40 slots being filled with my gathering tools, salvage kits, edibles, armors, weapons,and boosters.

For those 8g, you can get about 800 gems right now which is 2 additional bag tabs if i remember correctly.

So its far cheaper right now to simply buy bag slots with low-slot bag, instead of upgrading the bag itself.


Also, its quite easy to manage space trough salvage kits thanks to the 'deposit collectibles' function.

It isn't that hard to find a place to sell. Shelling out for 15 slot bags which I do is kind of a waste, anything over that is just being an idiot.

I use 15 slots on every slots on all my character and it's more than enough to hold all the shit i collect while farming CS for hours.
Only exception, I have an 20 slots invisible bag on my main warrior to hold all her weapons / armor / trinkets sets.

I use 10 slot bags (that's what I can craft at the moment) and one of them is an invisible bag which I use for gear and spare tools.

I got 18 bags for cca 2.15 g each (mats used price), which was an awesome price for me

Before that I had 10 slot bags for a long time and couldn't really work with those especially with Plinx farming. 18 slot bags are fantastic for now.

I'm using 4x 15-bags and imo it's quite enough. With very high MF I can do complete runs though plinx/tar/bm/arena/rakkan to get it full. It depends on how much space your equipment takes space. I have 3 armor sets to I had to go 15-slots, before I did ok with 8=slots.
I wouldn't go 18 or 20... to much money that can be spent on more needed stuff.

I think you got prices wrong. unless i bought mine differently.

and Xanarot is right. its far cheaper to buy bag slot expansion on your MAIN rather than buying a larger bag.

I think budget is the issue here. how much would you be willing to spurge on your bag spaces.

current exchange rate is 94silver~ for 100gems
roughly 4g for an extra back pack slot.
roughly 10silver for a 10slot back pack
roughly 20 silver for a 12slot back pack
roughly 60silver for a 15slot back pack
roughly 2gold for a 18slot back pack
roughly 10gold for a 20slot back pack

The 15-slot bags seem to hit the sweet spot for me, partly because of the steep price curve for the runes needed to make bigger ones. I do find specialty bags useful, so I carry one plain, one craftsman's, one invisible, and one junk (oiled) bag. The junk bag can be only 10 or 12 slots if you "Sell Junk" every now and then as you go. A 15-slot craftsman's is just big enough to hold one tier's worth of common and fine mats (wood, ore, cloth, leather, blood, etc.), so you can just let those accumulate for the primary tier of whatever zone you're in while sending everything else (cooking mats and off-tier items) to the bank whenever you need to make some room in the other packs. A 15-slot invisible bag is more than big enough to hold everything I need to protect, but I can use the extra slots for my salvage kits and spare gathering tools, leaving the regular bags for loot I'm going to salvage or sell.

backpack + 3 regular 8 slots + 1 invisible 8 slot on all my characters.  keep stuff I need/want to save for special things for bank in the 8 slot and the rest gets salvaged and deposited to bank or merched.  I've never had a problem with this as I've found that most of the time there is either a merchant close enough that I can sell anything I don't want or can salvage most of what I get as drops.  Rares and exotics I usually check the TP as soon as I have enough time after the fight to see if its worth selling there vs. salvaging for ecto or holding it for the genie's toilet.

I think the only time I got close to filling it up was when I completed frostgorge the other day and didn't make a stop at a merchant.

15 slot bags on my mains which is the sweet spot imho for inventory vs gold on active characters.

12 slot bags on my alts that hold all my crap since that is the sweet spot with current gem prices and buying character slots + bags for inventory per gold cost.

The 15 slot bags is the best right now. you have more than enough space and you can save some money.
1 invisible bags to keep your gears, weapons so its doesnt show up when you merchant junks.
the rest are regular 15 slot bags which you can hold everything and it show up on merchant so you can sell them fast.

18 to 20 slot bag are wasted Atm. with that gold you can have way more slot with gems. 1 additional bag slot is 400 gems, just like 3g.
a simple calculation will be: 20 slot bag = 20g, just for rune. with 20g you can get 2000 gems (you get more than that if not event), 2000 gems can get you 5 additional bag slot. 5 additional slot can give you 50 slot with the 10 slot bag which is 1s ea.
so instead of getting 50 slot, you get 20 slot . people might say "but i can sell it later" but what is that later? and what will you use when you sell that 20 slot bags.

I have 6 15 slot bags and 2 invisible ones on my main character, but half of it is filled with stuff like Halloween tonics and different outfits for RPing. For farming, I find having about 40 empty slots or so to be more than sufficient.

im going to say 12 slot average as i leveled up my crafters i made the biggers bag for some of them but the ten slot bags got made for all characters so none have smaller then 10 slot bags. if i get a bit of money aside i might more 20 slot bags for more of my chars
