Sometimes I can't tell if ANet actually plays this game.

After this patch I can at least say that none of them ever played an elementalist.

So much for "we have to test these chances" therefore "only a few changes made it in".

Jon Peters said in the ranger forum "There are >500 skills in this game, 480 traits, and 2 designers working on this."

Not sure if he just said they have 2 people working on the whole balance..

That would explain so much. 1 Plays thief the other Mesmer.

Myeah, I'm happy I use mostly elemental surge and have found some good builds that manage with less points in arcane. Evasive arcane is now not really worth taking imo,

And this just when I was getting into using support builds for upcoming tournaments in my guild :P

I wonder if this aneurysm I'm having is also an intended feature of this patch.

On another note I managed to get Mist Form working with Cantrip Mastery, I think. You need to equip the Mist Form Utility and then turn the trait on an off and then on again. The cooldown should display 60 seconds. I didn't time it to see if it really was 60 seconds cause my mind was full of **** from this patch.

But "bunker" was not nerfed.Ele was nerfed
Actually support ele wasnt nerfed either..it got destroyed and probably completely erased from the meta.

There's a huge difference between nerfing a build and completely, utterly, gutting a whole profession.

Also, bunker guardians got even a buff, what the flying frak?

..and subsituted with another thing to make up for the humongous nerf on the bunker spec the fix would bring. Guess they always forget that 2nd part, like they did with rangers. I dont think "we'll make up for these nerfs" cuts it any more.

If a class is struggling, give it a break unless you have a complete and balanced overhaul in mind.

Actually there's only one viable spec as of today's patch: reroll.

in which game??Caue the one i play has bunker guardians that stay at the point impossible to die at 2 vs1 unless they face dps builds.
Stop seeing everything on your narrow prespective.Blasts were fine they just needed an internal cooldown.

You can't read can't you? They provided a big amount of bunker power and team support, but that's the problem itself. Removing it all without substituting it leaves the spec gimped.

Calling them completely op sounds pretty dumb though. Have you even played other classes?

If they had given the blast finishers an ICD of 10 seconds the spec would have been perfectly fine. Bunkers already got hit really hard from the healing and boon duration nerf.

Blast finisher only when the spell goes off was actually the nerf I was expecting. Not this.

Well for the few times I might actually still play this game (probably only to try out the new sPvP map), I'm going D/D due to my S/D build being ruined with might stacking (thanks for the dragon tooth nerf, only reason I even casted it before was for the might stacks since it takes as long to drop as the big weapon for the aliens in damn independence day) and the destruction of evasive.

Oh and for the record, it's becoming increasing apparent / borderline obvious that no one at Anet actively plays ele / main's them and make changes based on wild assumptions and by joining hot join 8v8 for 1-2 matches and making a brash decision.

What happened to "We will nerf some area's but buff others to compensate" statement? I would be fine with a bunker nerf hell even an evasive if they changed our god damn useless traits (and or WHOLE trait lines) and made other damage builds viable. Instead they decided conjure weapons would be the best area to buff. Wow, great idea!

Say bye bye to Champion Magus title...
Other then that Support eles are still viable in Pve and dungeons. I was surprised with the Evasive Arcana trait, but by fixing the aoe heals to 5 people only is a good/bad thing... No more zerg healing which is fine if the opposite team is using, but not fine for us xD

Basically pvp eles will need to hustle a lot now :(

Apparently, there are 2 people at ANet who are working on class balance, and I'm pretty sure they only play thief, mesmer and maybe guardian.

Just to confirm:  Evasive arcana does not provide any blasts anymore, I tested it. :/

A Tornado nerf.. that I did not expect. It's really hard to explain how did they end up making this decision.

Conjured weapons have seen some improvement - the added stats are not bad. Here's an example of the sword and hammer, reflecting on my own stat changes:

Sword - 2,819 attack > 3,079 attack
100 condition damage > 280 condition damage

Hammer - 10 critical damage > 15 critical damage
39% critical chance > 48% critical chance

To compare this with other games, GW1 was mainly balanced by Izzy with his team.  Morello is the main guy balancing League of Legends.  Dustin Browder and David Kim balance all of SCII.  You don't need that many people to lead balancing.  I would assume it would make it rather long in the tooth if more than five tried to get their ideas into place.
