Nov. 15th Patch: Breaking Point?

Paid tournaments will still be only 4 teams that are reliably winning and the class compositions will still remain the same. Conquest mode is still the only option ergo the same bunkers/roamers comps will still exist. I'm not going to turn this into a super long rant, but this patch was the deal breaker. I'm not going to be wasting my time with this game any more if they can't take their own shit seriously. Arenanet has such a piss poor way of communicating with their players and enough is enough. The pvp community has been craving certain things and even in PvE there are plenty of things that need implementing. Guild Halls and more guild functions for one, but they keep giving these one off events that don't really bring anything new other than a mini gear tier to grind for in an already grindy game. There are very obvious quality of life improvements that need to be done and have been asked about ever since beta that have not made it into the game yet.
What a damn joke.

And nice updates to PvE/general stuff like UI etc...
Only the Plinx event chain was "nerfed" and I ofc lost about 3g, a handful of ectos and half my achievement points... :/

Its what I'm doing now. Honestly, I think I might start up WoW again just to PvE with some friends. I know what to expect there, and like it or not, Blizzard does a good job of communicating with their players. A very good job actually. I'm sad because I've loved this game but its just frustrating as hell to see something as great as this game is become worse and worse. Things that need addressing don't get addressed and the massive bitch you see on forums never gets addressed.
What do they think is going to happen when they have so many people mad over something, and then come to find out that their grievances are going unheard? Most of the faithful, I was one, held on because there was a patch that was going to address most of the issues plaguing the game. And when the patch came, we found out that no, it didn't fix much of anything. So imagine how those people feel now.
I know of 11 people personally that have just quit for this reason. To hell with them and this game. I dont know what to expect with this game and I have lost all faith and confidence in Anet to fix this game. Until I see patch notes that blow me away with QoL improvements and fixes to the PvP game, they're losing a player. And with a game that has no sub fee, losing a player that spent occassional money on TP is revenue this company sorely needs. They're *ing up at a rapid pace.

I see your point but the game is still new. Look at wow when it came out Or any MMO. I don't think they addressed all there issues either. They did have a lot of bug fixes in this patch and there is no way they can fix them all at once.
Just curious what is the thing that your quitting over? Also SWOTOR is F2P now but there F2P model makes you pay $ for everything.

Threads stating how much better anet handles customer concerns than blizzard.

Each his own, but I wish forums only provided data and facts rather than "here what I feel at the moment" posts. It's hard to identify vocal minority posts.

I suppose I could link tons of pages where Blizzard's Devs are in the forums addressing issues, or how they continually update patch notes as time goes on. Most of the reason a lot of people are miffed is because we had nothing but what little was said in the forums by the devs. Leaving messages like "lots of rangers utilities will be looked and made more attractive. Expect to see lots of ranger changes" and then as the fever gets built up for the patch, people are left hugely disappointed because their excitement and speculation was left unchecked. Could you imagine if Blizzard did their patches like Anet does? Millions of players logging in to find all kinds of stuff screwed up and moved around, this nerfed or that buffed. But I think ANet's mindset is that since we dont pay a sub fee, they can do as they please and to hell with us.

Off memory I bet the responsiveness of blue compared to red 2.5 months into wow and 2.5 month into gw2 is pretty comparable. The bar has been raised due to the tenure of wow. Give it time and come back if it changes. I don't think they're doing anything that I would consider negligent when it comes to fixing problems. Things take time.
I played wow for 7 years. I enjoyed it while I played it, but got tired of the mechanics. I'm playing gw2 now. Blizzard isn't the spawn if satan. Neither is anet. Both provide a product for me to purchase or not.

Yep.... also look at this to see how much credibility they deserve.
Poof! Someone called and I am here. We made some ranger changes this patch, but had to go back on them because of risk factor. There are some bugs being fixed and quality of life improvements coming in the next patch, as well as some other significant ranger improvements. I would Literally tell you but I think it would be considered a bit of a spoiler so you will have to be patient.
While we work hard to keep updates going on all professions, not very build us going to contain fixes for everyone due to the nature of software development. One problem with rangers is the lack of build diversity created by a number of sub par utility skills. Many signets, a shout or two, and spirits are all a bit lackluster. That is the first place to expect improvements. Second is trying to improve the feel/ pacing on some weapons.
Ok I can’t type more with tiny phone finger keypad. See you in game!
Jon
Love to see how almost none of that happened.

I haven't read through the entire thing but adding actual rewards to the crappy dungeons is more incentive to do them then just obtain armor skins.

There are >500 skills in this game, 480 traits, and 2 designers working on this. Even then often we are bottle necked by other issues. I’m not going to say we are not working on these things, nor can I say there are things we could have changed but just ran out of time on, but this was a patch that contained ranger improvements and it will not be the last one that does so. Maybe you want more than honesty but that is what I currently have to offer.

With just two people working on balancing and fixing skills and traits its going to take a long time before this game has proper balance.

The events I'm talking about are solely Champion events (Champion Risen Abomination for one). One unit I fought from start to finish. If that's not enough to get the guaranteed loot, the patch change is worthless.

you are free to leave and when the game gets better, you can come back at no charge. what other game gives you that kind of opportunity?
not WoW for sure. you are going to have to pay. pay. pay. pay. pay.
i think GW2 is the best bang for your buck on the market right now, and people playing the game are having a great time.

The amount of time you fight something has nothing to do with getting kill credit. And if you were solo (ie not grouped) and there were more than 10ish people there you didn't do enough damage for kill credit.
