I've been trying to defend this game's pvp for some time now and after today, there's not much else I can do anymore. I know there are people, like me, who were expecting this patch to address lots of issues plaguing pvp. They have done very little to the pvp aspect of this game and frankly its the most important since they've publicly went out on a limb and stated that they want GW2 to be a competitive esport.

What about the PvP/WvWvW themed updates coming in Jan or Feb? You are giving up on ArenaNet way to early, take a break until the big updates and come back to see what has been added, fixed and whether or not they disappoint or satisfy.

[Jonathan]: "Yeah. I won't say too much so I won't get in trouble with Chris Lye or Martin, but I can say a little bit. Moving forward what we're going to be doing in January, Feburary, March, we're going to be having different themes for our patches.
One of the patch themes will be entirely focused on PvP and WvW. So that's going to be really exciting. I can't give any details about that, but it's going to have a lot of the features that we just talked about. We're going to have some of the things on the list as well as some other things that I haven't mentioned yet. We just want you guys to know that stuff is going to be themed and
one of the themes for one of our early patches next year will be PvP and WvW."

"We had a huge Halloween update in October, we just had a big one in November,
we have a giant Christmas update coming in Decembe
r, and all of those have gone over really well, and I think in December people are going to be really excited. But
January and February are actually are biggest updates to date. They’re even bigger than all the stuff we did in October, November and December. And I think that when people see how much stuff they’re gonna get for no monthly fee in January and February, they’re probably going to be blown away.
These two months combined are basically an expansion’s worth of content for free."
