So just to clarify :  One sentence in that bullet point is not about World Champions.  Every sentence before it and after it is.  But not that one?  And that particular sentence is about every champ everywhere?  When there is another section specifically for dungeons and it mentions nothing about it?

I like the balance changes a lot.  Bunkers aren't as bad, rangers are getting some play.  The change to downed state health is really nice as well.  Teams aren't getting off almost instant revives every time someone dies, with people popping up and down constantly through a fight.  Getting a kill is more meaningful now, since downed players are more likely to stay down.

They really need to make it easier for people to get into paid tournaments though.  With the current system only the top 4 teams or so can actually keep playing paid tourneys without running out of tickets.  The game is basically pay to play for anyone who wants to play competitively.

I see what you are saying but I disagree.  I do not see how a F2P game has anything to do with price gouging.  I have put $40 bucks into the game since I started playing.  That is for myself and my wife so we could open more vault spaced and more bag spaces because I wanted them now instead of waiting until we earned the gold to just buy them with game money.  If you are spending money on the game it is because you choose to do it not that they are making you do it.  Sure you may want to drop some real life cash into the game at the beginning but I can't see us putting much more cash into the game unless it is for the frilly type of stuff like fancy town clothes or something because my wife loves the fashion side of the game.


As for F2P adding anything to the game I agree no it does not.  My comment would be was it supposed to?  No it wasn't gamers are tired of paying subscriptions and not having the companies hold up thier end of the deal by providing good updates and new content.  Anet is forced to do this because if they don't people will stop playing and then they won't make any money.  I think it is a fare trade.  I do think (have no proof) that if they were a pay to play game there would be more devs working on the changes so by having a game that is F2P I can see why things might take a little to get fixed.  I personally don't have many issues with the game it self.  it is buggy at times and the way quests stop working are frustrating but nothing that has been a deal breaker for me.


On balance.  That is and always has beent the issue with PvP/PvE games.  Most of the games I have seen that have an extensive PvE AND PvP system start off with balance issues.  The question is does the game manufacturer do anything about it.  It seems Anet is doing something about the issues I have seen and will continue to make changes.  It will never be fast enough for those of us playing the game but I applaud Anet for taking their time and making sure things are done right.  Nothing frustrates me more than when changes come out and they screw things up worse than they were before.



On a side note I keep hearing about people leaving the game in droves and all this stuff.  I am sure there are people leaving, but my server is far from empty.  In fact a lot of the people I play with do not even come on to the forums they would rather spend their time playing the game.  Like I said I am sure some people are leaving.  Those would be the hardcore gamers that blow through all the content they feel is fun and don't bother with the other stuff.  It is the instant gratification crowd.  There is nothing wrong with that, you paid the money to play the game play it how you like and how you enjoy it.  But please do not make blanket statements like that.  That is no different than the fanboi posts that this is the greatest game ever made.  I do enjoy it, quite a bit in fact but there are some issues with it that I want to see improved.  For anyone new to the game that are wondering how the game is going my suggestion would be to either find a friend that is playing and check out their account or just bite the bullet and buy the game and see for yourself.  Just because some people on the forums are bagging on the game does not mean that we all feel that way.  There is a middle of the road that I feel most of the players fall into.

Free to play games are usually a bit lacking whether they are balanced or not.And tbh i don't think any game of this type is ever really balanced.
I don't mean GW btw i mean f2p games like Sevencore and Aion.
This game has so much going for it over warcraft but warcraft is still better imo because its got a monthly sub.You get much more content pve and pvp wise because there is a much bigger team.
You wont get the moon on a stick for £35.

F2P games make more than P2P games nowadays.

Yep, only Blizzard rakes in enough sub money to employ the enormous teams that churn out enormous content.

It makes a difference whether you have a few hundred thousand or several million people paying your fee.

Awesome. I've been waiting for a patch like that, I've been on an indefinite Hiatus until PvP is addressed, since I was at a point where my options were either grind Fractals for T2 gear, Farm gold or go for 100% map completion - none of which I'm too keen on doing. A decent PvP update would be incredible.
