I'm seeing this constantly. Hitting warriors, and they are disappearing. What's going on with this?

No it's always a solo warrior, hit them a couple times and then they disappear.

Are you sure that it was a Warrior? There is no skill to allow a Warrior to stealth. So there are some possibilities: you are joking, you should visit a doctor to check your eyes, your foe had several ctds at the right time, he was cheating, there was a hidden Thief or Mesmer nearby or he used Rune of Infiltration where you stealth at 10% health (90 sec cd).

I am absolutely sure it's a warrior. I only WvW. I don't pve.  I only WvW 24/7. I know my classes and I know a warrior should not be able to stealth, and I know it's not a graphics glitch because several of us will be fighting the warrior, even when alone. I've noticed that it's always a warrior that inexplicably disappears from combat.

Perhaps there was some bug you warriors were noticing.

The rune of infiltration might be the answer here, next time pay attention to the warrior's health, if the stealth appears when he goes low life then the mystery is solved.

I know that the Rune of Vampirism where you stealth on low health did not work for warriors a month or so ago. I tried it.

It was kinda of a joke, they have "access" to it because it's a thief move that grants stealth to allies

Thieves are abusing stealth and I have no Idea how by spamming heart seeker. Most likely a bug but it's annoying af.

If it's WvWvW there may be consumable items or racial abilities that allow them to stealth. I thought the stealth consumable was disabled in WvWvW, but I don't play it, so I could be wrong. Blast and Leap finishers in a smoke field cause stealth, so if there is a consumable or racial that can cause a smoke field, that is a possibility.

You cannot use ash kits (which let you stealth for 10 secs) in pvp. A warrior also has no access to any racials, or utilities that cause him to stealth, A norn warrior could stealth in Snowleopad form, but obviously you would see him transform into the beast first. Yes the stealth ruin set lets you stealth at 10% life, which 90% of the time you are hitting the dirt when it goes off. I have played nothing but a warrior since release and there is not a thing i do not know about this class. You are correct it saying you have ran into a few stealthing warriors though my friend. I have fought two now, solo i might add, that have vanished into thin air middle of our fight. Only two solutions here, 1 he is using some kind of a cheat, or the chump cant handle a loss and is pulling the plug on his comp. Either way i have seen it and i just shake my head.

Perhaps there was some bug you warriors were noticing.

Three possible explanations: there's a multi-rune bonus which grants stealth at some low % health (like 20% or so); there's a Norn racial ability which grants stealth; you're smacking a Mesmer clone that just happens to look alot like a warrior, especially with a greatsword.

There's another possibility, that the warrior is leaving the zone somehow (either by closing the program or by accepting a queue to another WvW zone).

I agree with this post. least the last option. A mesmer clone doesn't look anywhere close to what a warrior even a low lvl warrior looks like. So that option imo is not it.

If they "stealth" and come back a few seconds later to attack you then , it's either a mesmer using their stealth skills , a rune that is allowing them to pop into stealth for a breif time or like a thief poping their aoe sealth. But if they are alone like you said .

Best guess w/o seeing it , would be they , dont wanna die and thus alt f4 out of the game , log out to char select screen or if the other BL have a que , they accept that and poof to another BL.  I can really say 99% of the time its going to be them ninja loging to save themselfs from a death / repairs.

Ive done this a few times , when have like half a zerg from a keep take over chasing me down , just ninja log and re join the server haha , know its bad but oh well lol.

You know, I saw a guardian do this in SPvP yesterday while testing builds. He would reappear nearby after a longish delay. I'm about 90% sure there was no thief nearby. It was right after an opening hit too so he was still in the higher HP% too. I should also note the player was gloating and talking smack the whole match, perhaps there is some foul play? I keep hearing reports of hacks here and there, mostly in WvW though. I have yet to witness any myself unless what we are seeing here could be. Hard to say, I will keep my eyes open for any more funny business.

Culling issue?  I've seen non stealth capable people vanish just like that myself.  So you're not crazy I've seen it happen with different professions.  When it does they usually reappear like whatever "glitch" or effect it was just ended though.

But in WvW you never know 100% because if an allied thief (under the effect of Shadow Refuge) were to run by (from behind something where you can't see him activate it) and hit Blinding Powder on the person you're fighting, you'd never know it.

The norn racial explains what i've been experiencing!

Have had a couple of huge ass norn warriors vanish on me and i thought i was going crazy, i'd already killed off all their thief mates naturally! I gotta look this up:

There is apparently a glitch that allows you to use blocked consumables in WvW. The other day I ran into a human mesmer who  constantly stealthed and popped up trees that looked like the thief steal-skill or alternatively a particular blocked consumable. Several of these trees during a single fight, and there were no other players around.
This glitch wouldn't be very suprsing. Even I know a few tricks that can turn you into an overgod in wvw.

Pretty OP item in PVE, pretty much everyone can permant stealth to revive or cap objective. No need for thf in pve anymore.

You can't use that in WvW and when you got thief stealth you can move around.
