Looks like Lead Designer Isaiah Cartwright did a fairly lengthy QandA on Kotaku last night.  Just thought I would post the link in case any hasn't seen it or.  

Some of my personal Highlights include a magic find explanation, tweaks to Vet and Champ drops, an an answer to the Eternity question and tweaks to the burrow arrowcart hit mechanics.

Q_  Plz, could you explain how exactly magic find atribute works? (ammout of % that increases if that's the case and how much does it really influence in the item drop rarity) Thank you.

A_  "Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones."

"...loot from veterans and champions as well as chests around the world have been improved I would suggest trying them out!"

Q_  There were plans before to be able to merge both Sunrise and Twilight into one weapon that would change aesthetics depending on the day.
Will it ever see light of day :P?

i think, i think he means it'll take an eternity to get a precursor! after all, ANet just improve the RNG with MORE RNG!

To anyone confused by the lack of context regarding the third quotation, the question asked was if you could merge Twilight and Sunrise to get Eternity. The answer was yes.

Never even realize its existence was in question.

I tried out Grenth Twice, broodmother, champ abom, and arah champ wizard.

That amounts to a total of 3 chests, 3 boss mobs, and 6 champion mobs. I use 220% MF and the best drop I got was a couple of greens from them.

I think they greatly exadurated how much they increased the loot chance.

Sorry guys. I should have put a bit more detail into it. I'm at work so was it was just a quick cheeky post lol. I'll edit it a bit.  I meant the quotes as more a 'bits I liked' rather than a TL;DR and as a teaser to the main article .   That he answered yes to whether we can combine sunrise and twilight to get Eternity and further down, mentioned that they are hoping to do some something like the black moa chick scavenger hunt as an alternative method for getting as precursor is pretty exciting.  I also like he finally cleared up the question of how magic find is supposed to work; no more speculating of one base figure.

I don't even think it's working correctly. That other article said Champs should never drop nothing, IIRC, and yet I've killed two that have dropped nothing.

Pfft @ MF...all I ever get from Champions are worthless greys & whites. Yet the 1st mob I kill after a Champ always drops me a green or yellow.  -.-

Eternity is a legendary weapon... You can get it by combining Twilight & Sunrise

Ye, i had a guy reporting on map an arah run, back with 2 exo. They probably improved the loot table. Of a spit. Instead of 0.00000000000000002% now is 0.0002%. Great programmers huh? :zzz:

MF is still by far the most horrible game mechanic in GW2.

Eternity has already been made a while ago and has been known about for some time, it looks like twilight at nightime and sunrise at daytime. But it misses some of the individual cool effects when you combine them from the original two legendary's.

So not worth it really.

Yea, I went through 4 different chests and I got fine stuff, not even a single masterwork.

Loot is so much better for sure.
