Patch Notes Impact on Builds?

Based on the patch notes, has anyone changed up their builds e.g. Phantasmal Haste?  I am thinking about it as the GS appeal has waned post-patch.

Well, I'm not using Greatsword now in WvW since patch. Not to mention it got a damage reduction that was not mention. I would like to try Phantasmal Haste.. not sure what to drop on my build though. It would have been good w/ GS IMO. I heard it' a noticeable speed increase to iWarden... Curious to see how effective it is for the pistol phantasm.

Did iBerserker get hit with the nerf bat in PvE too?

Yes. So far, every patch that the mesmer was hit with affected all formats.

Also, Phantasmal Haste still doesn't work on most illusions, and iDisenchanter no longer summons at the appropriate range, if at all, yet the cooldown starts as if it had been activated.

Just hit 80 and started to get experiments with builds, unfotunately i liked gs/staff combo but now its not what it was...any idea what build to replace? Mainly play pve and some dungs and like to be ranged so i guess my only choice left would be scepter which as I read not a really good weapon...or just go the staff/s+f or s+p way?
I someone could help me out here it would be great. Thanks!

I hope that the devs not only fix the iBerserker issue, but also our phantasm issues in general. With the LoS thing, it's more annoying to try to cast phantasms. Also, our phantasm-related traits (both minor and major) need to be fixed.

IBerzerker damage reduction is an accident. Admitted by Anet and its being worked on. The gear still works fine but until its fixed, try going sword+focus/ staff. Not as much damage but its still quite good dps and more utility. Unfortionatly that's the good news. Bad news is the rest of our nerf. For anyone wondering why you are missing phantasms and clones when you so mined them, read the requirement changes. They lumped our 2 part action (illusion summons then damage from illusion) into one action. Then they coded the new action for being an attack. As all of you know, any attack can be countered with a multitude of boons/skills. Ageis, block, retaliation, dodge etc... Thus we arrive at our new nerfed issue. We have a much more difficult time getting our damage out. No phantasms and clones on the field=a dead Mesmer.
I'm pretty much done with the class for the time being. I'll prob hop on it just to try a new idea out but until this is changed to something usefull for our unique class. Later all.

Portal was nerfed for the new jumppuzzle in Lost Shore, I'm sure of it! :P Takes forever to reload now...

thanks for the info, however i got other details, which could mean to me that won't be fixed anytime soon. It was originaly posted to the rangers forum ( https://forum-en.gui...n-merged/page/3) but still affects us i guess (not in a good way). The most important part is the undelined bold sentence.

We made the improvements we had time to test. There are still more ranger improvements but when our time is limited we have to focus on things we know we can fix. Signets and shouts are still on the docket, and I suspect some of each of these will get some love in the next time around. As you can see a lot changed in this build for every profession and we have to test these changes as well.
I do still believe ranger is the profession in most need of improvement after this patch and we will continue to make those improvements. If we could fix everything at one time we would, but the reality is there are a limited # of hours to make changes.
I see a lot of talk about ranger weapons, but I don’t think that is the real problem. I think sword and longbow are both good weapons, which is why the changes take longer. The problems are deeper, in pets ability to hit moving targets, trait lines with not enough viable choices and skills that are often too specialized to really compliment the weapon builds. These aren’t things we can change overnight. The change to Greatsword block was in fact a very difficult change, but we made it because we knew it was the right thing to do.
There are >500 skills in this game, 480 traits, and 2 designers working on this. Even then often we are bottle necked by other issues. I’m not going to say we are not working on these things, nor can I say there are things we could have changed but just ran out of time on, but this was a patch that contained ranger improvements and it will not be the last one that does so. Maybe you want more than honesty but that is what I currently have to offer.

I'm wondering what build to go now... I did some experiments but not really know which way to go. Any ideas? Mostly PVE and dungeons, lately some WvW. Also wondering is scepter viable? Since i like to stay ranged and sword was not my style at 1st try (however if i have to go with it if will do :-) )

Oh.. my.. GOD! Two devs to balance 500 skills and 480 traits!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

No kitten wonder the bugs continue, the traits don't work and things don't get fixed patch after patch! LOOOOOL!!

Two devs!!! Where did all the cash go? Is this how GW2 will be known? Good start, but then it turned into some sort of free game. I mean, seriously. The event today? Crap. Generic cliche invasion event. I've first done it in City of Heroes. Then in WoW, then in who knows how many other games. A kitten ton of mobs that keep on spawning, lag, barely any loot. At least we had the chest at the end with the exotics.

But I would have traded the whole thing, the whole of Lost Shores, just so you guys could pay for a third dev (LOL!!) to, y'know, fix your bugs. All the beta testing, all the lists of bugs compiled by players, and the game goes free with a kitten ton of bugs just so we discover we have two devs (LOL!!!) trying to balance 500 skills and 480 traits.

Guys, I understand we already bought the game so you can now flip us the bird as the cash was spent. But do you *REALLY* want to be another Diablo 3 flop? They too went by the route of 'you've already bought the game so whatever'.
