FotM gone?

If anything there's going to be more than ever...

I don't know who's balancing over at ANet, but they've got no idea how to balance a class.  Maining a thief myself, I was hoping the BS build would get toned down and other builds buffed slightly.  Instead ANet decided they want everyone to run D/D...

I've shelved my thief and honestly I've lost a lot of interest in PvP after this patch.  Another patch like the last one and I'll probably just uninstall.

Usually play mesmer (all builds) bunker engi and condition necro and honestly a nerf to the thief damage output sounds like "free loot" class to me.

Edit: they should fix the stealth issus because theirs no reason to balance the class if thats still messed up.

FOTM = the best balancers period. How else are the developers going to develop balancing metrics without a large source pool of information?

They had the large source pool of information down their throat. And look at the results.

If you were good, then the changes meant nothing to you, or slight adjustments at the most.

If you're bad, then I can't hear you over the sound of your sobbing.

I'm sorry SoulStitch, I can't take you seriously ever again after you said FoTM players were the best balancers...

Balance comes from metrics. Not just forum QQ. Change doesn't come until there is enough data to warrant that change.

Metrics are metrics and do not inherently bring balance.

"Hey, the elementalist is doing too much burst damage in a specific build according our metrics. Lets nerf damage accross the board a 40%." Ilogical.

the uprising FOTM aren't backstab thieves, but thieves that spam evade attacks, lay down caltrops and maximize their stealth duration when running out of initiatives. also known as the UNICORN build. they play hotjoins and trashtalk but they are easily on the bottom of the lowest tier skill players.

they can be easily countered by traps and aoe damage and wait till they finish their evade attack animation before you apply a overdose of dots on him.

well, honestly that's a very poor metric...serious ones involve cross-build/class balance ;)

Eh I'm still destroying people and coming first in hotjoins. I know they're often bad players but it's still a good sign.
But then again I rarely used to use backstab build. Now I'm forced into it.

People have been playing condition unicorn builds since forever, what's different now? Don't really see your point...

I play with this build sometimes and I think it's unfair to call it "the bottom of the lowest tier skill players" (whatever grammar that is)...People call BS builds no-skill and now condition + stealth is no skill as well? I guess it's safe to say then s/d is no skill as well since all it does is daze. Would the only "skilled" build be p/p? (/sarcasm)

either i haven't seen much of them before or they just got more annoying, i.e. they have perfected the unicorn build.
