Sorry if is this is a stupid question, but I didn't feel like reading through a billion threads of hot discussions and complaints about the Ascended gear.
I wonder if there is an alternative way to get this gear other than to do the dungeons?
Would be awesome if you could craft it - or somehow buy it with a lot of gold or gems.

Currently unknown. Possibly with crafting, as there are new materials.

Eventually, all current methods for getting exotics (world champions, chests, existing explorable dungeons and presumably crafting) will also get ascended gear added.
(see dev post on official forums)

as a bonus the drop rates for fine and exotic gear have gone up also.
