Do you stress test for events?

Because the lag is unbearable and dc'ing every 30sec is making it unplayable!

They clearly don't. This is the worst time I've ever had in a game. The game is completely unresponsive.

What do you people expect when there are multiple hundreds of people on screen..?

Oh, ArenaNet, what a wonderful way to showcase your new update and competence for the  content locusts.
It's okay to enjoy crap if you're willing to admit it's crap.
Every patch is like ArenaNet walking out onto the stage of the International Don't Kitten Up Championship, and then proceeding to shiv itself in the stomach 30 times while screaming "IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!"

I expect a massive multiplayer game to provide a right environment for massive multiplaying...

And the FPS is expected, because this game is poorly optimised. However I am talking about latency issues, which is lag.

( Bad FPS isn't lag - don't mix it up people!)

i expect a way to stop the render of said people and start the render of the monsters. i also expect way less lag and more game response. if they can't keep up with the amount of server requests acuse tehre's so many players in the same place at the same time.... well, why not create 10 new serves on LA only active only during the events. they reduce the population cap of the city distribute it with the new temporary serves and the lag decreses and the fun increses.

At this point I really start thinking that Anet are not so good at managing online games,planning trial week end durin this event is a huge fail.
Regular player are not enjoyng the event and so the trial players,Anet il failing on all the line.

CPU running at 20%, yet having only 10 fps and insane lags, what a joke.

They should know by now that their game doesn't really support huge amounts of players in its current state. And still they keep introducing stuff like this event.
I really miss GW1's instanced world -.-

I might be a spiteful little *, but ... suck it A.Net, karma's a bitch!

It amuses me greatly that a company that sold out on it's basic design ideas to make more money is having a "show the game to a friend" event and the game is completely unplayable.

30 sec delay 10 drops in 10 minutes maybe 3 mobs killed, and 2 fps on low details, arena net you have out done your self once again with this once in a life time 3 day broken event that wasn't properly handled. I just wander will it get better over the curse of the weekend or every single event will be same kind of fail

I'll need ascended gear so it doesn't take 10-30+ seconds to cast a spell?  Ahh ha!  Good thing I have 2000+ attachments points!  Time to get my farm on!  ;)

That's exactly what ArenaNet should be asking themselves and working on a solution. Excuses shouldn't have to be made for a company that's been doing this for nearly a decade. They had it working in GW1 and events were smooth.

Can't really defend that one, it's rather pathetic. Sure, it's a bit like cussing out the Minister of Transport for traffic jams on the first day of holiday - but it's still rather bad.

I am glad I chose NOT to make use of the friend-feature, because I'd be rather embarrassed right now, if I exposed any new player to this experience.

Badly done. :(

Hallowen, now this.. Until they stop starting events during peak hours or update their hardware properly to scale up depending on the traffic, next event will be the same pathetic display..

yea, except we weren't able to use skills in towns.. And there were no real enemies..

Boy Anet cant win.  First the bugs fiasco, stuck events problems, new tier of gear, now this.  Can only imagine what is next.

Also Illein, I am with you, gald I didnt invite anyone to this mess.  Anet you are not winning any new customers this way.

For a one time event that players should have been awed by, that was a complete joke.
I mean come on, people have been telling them stuff like this for weeks now, yet they still do jack crap about it.

If they can't get events right, they should hold off doing them until they actually CAN.
Once again, really disappointed with arenanet and am even more doubting if GW2 is a game that they can even handle.
