no doubt.  people get a bit too uppity about any 1 given week. Holiday and event clearly had a disruption on this week.  WvW isn't the playoffs, or championships, or anything. its ongoing.

I logged on yesterday during the event apparently.  Forgot about it entirely, and just went into EB. JQQ was wiped off the map entirely. And SBI was barely hanging on.  JQQ had outmanned.
Within an hour or so of the event ending, JQQ's numbers tripled at least.  And both SBI and JQQ were able to push back slowly and take their corners for the most part.
After JQQ was still in the pve mood and decided to kill the grub of course.

Don't let your politics override what the actual scoreboard says. We used to be such a great server. Aren't the JQQ folks being a little melodramatic?  You are 3k points behind during an event weekend, and you are running up the white flag?

I don't speak for SoS or even my guild, but the majority opinion going into this match is that we'd be lucky to be where you are right now by the end of the weekend.

Our lack of a dedicated Euro presence plus the event now coming to an end means that this week has just started.  We'd have to be up by at least 60k for me to feel even somewhat at ease.

I don't really want you to get your spirits up, but I can't stand to see you crying in your beers like this.

No, you and a queue is what drove TW off.

MMAC as a guild had no real list of accomplishments and most of the other servers we fought just laughed at them.  

AoS is way better then them without being a detriment to WvW like MMAC (specifically Menaace/Walker).

Also you are using the same arguments that you have been using since you got kicked from jadequarry.com  Menaace.  I thought you were trying to pretend to be someone else.  It's apparent you know nothing about what is going on over there, nor who is involved with the forum.  If anything Aleister is older than you.  And they have only one other Mod on there, the rest of the Mods are from other guilds.

That person doesn't even play on JQ.  As far as we know he doesn't even play Guild Wars anymore because his forum politicking got him in such deep water he couldn't back out.  So his team left him and created a new one.  So he is now back on here pretending to be from their guild and posting this garbage.

Well, Im going to say this honestly.  No disrespect to JQ intended.
JQ was never #1. and really only #2 post HoD.

The Glicko scoring system is flawed for WvW matchups, and especially with the transfers.
SBI was #2.  They got pushed down, and barely overtaken by ET.  JQ was then #2 according to Glicko. but lets be honest, SBI was targeted.
HoD broke up.  ET was "#3" but again, in reality 4 or 5.  JQ got +115 points vs a "#1" server that was in reality a #10-15. and ET which was more like 4 or 5. You didn't play vs SBI.  This put JQ into #1. but you didn't beat the real top server at this point, SBI.
Next week, HoD still in T1, but completely empty.  Even PRX gone now.  JQ 451, HoD 48, SBI 135. +93 for JQ, +46 for SBI.  Now, you did beat SBI, but still had HoD poisoning the well.  Perhaps you could argue this was a true week at #1. but frankly, I don't agree. It was just who would control HoD's space better.
Next week. JQ/SBI/IoJ.  SBI won.   Close match.
Next week JQ/SBI/BG. SBI won.  JQ down to #3.
Next week JQ/SBI/BG. SBI won.  JQ up to #2 again.
Next week JQ/SBI/BG. SBI won.  Same result.

SBI is and has been the #1 server since HoD broke up, consistently.


I don't know who exactly you have lost, to say where you will land.  SoR is pretty strong.  SoS had a real fight with them.  Its a bit odd to see BG beating them so hard atm. Maybe they had eventitis.  IoJ is fairly weak. they lost alot.  I was also suprised to see them do so poorly in T2, after that good showing in T1.

Actually you ([fang]) are the reason Crystal Desert fell apart like it did, Luvpie was the primary driving force of keeping WvW going there and when he gave up so did everyone else. Even the Reddit folks started giving up and has sense broken up due to WvW most of which have gone to Tarnished Coast. I however wanted to play WvW with more active and serious players so I moved around a little and ended up on SBI due to it's great community and (usually) always active WvW playerbase (this week being an anomaly). Also where the hell have you all been I been in WvW 12 hours a day all weekend and been on all 4 maps (jumping around due to zero coverage on any) and seen only a single [fang] tag I guess all you guys brought to SoS was more PvE heroes lol. fang isnt big at all. i jus see pugs of fang in sos zergs. prx is the only guild who can actually fight and its because they have numbers. sos cant fight that well all they have is more numbers , with this being their first week in tier 1, and we're farming fractals for ascended items in the long run.

This is why I'm glad there's a rating system in place for determining the winner. The #1 spot is not chosen by people on a forum cherry picking context in order to argue their prominence. It's determined by an unbiased score. Sure it's not perfect, but there's no argument with it. SBI is current #1, but JQ was #1 for a short time. Deal with it.

Yeah, I can understand that.  but we clearly broke Glicko. I admit, I don't know enough about it to know if its intended to work in a 1v1v1 situation.  But the output.. doesnt seem to be.
Glicko website itself says its intended for many matches in a rating period.  so, is wvw 1 match/week, or 1 match every 15min for a week.  again, Im not sure on that.

Is it supposed to create a proper rank, or create mobility in the rankings?  Two very different things.  A "true" ranking system, would encourage 1-3 getting there and staying there.  HoD with its "undefeated" streak would have likely had a huge point lead.  I would assume then, that Glicko was intended for mobility.  and such situations were SBI was pushed down to #4, despite in realty being the clear #2 in terms of presence, and wins.  Glicko did not take into account the amount of force used. only SBI's expected place in #2, and the actual points they got.  Failing to hold an expected ppt, vs a lower ranked JQ, caused SBI's glicko rating to drop.
Again, glicko favors mobility, not accurate ranking.
Then ET and HOD.  glicko was designed for a player.   Not a server. ET and HoD should have effectively been disqualified from the rankings. reset to base.   Hell every free transfer just screws it up. Glicko can not handle transfers.

If you want a real server ranking. count wins and losses vs whos who.  SBI has only lost to JQ, twice I think?

I don't think GW2 broke glicko or any rating system, people just have to accept there's some inherit delay between true power of a server and its rating, as well as no accounting for 2v1ing of a server.

The important thing is that there's an unbiased way for a server rating to be determined, and it's difficult to manipulate the ratings.

It would be a great start stopping that nonsense talk. I joined JQ as the server was in T2 and had a really hard time fighting. And I regulary joined the teamspeak on JQ borderlands as I was playing wuvwuv. Menaace was always there, never seemed to sleep really long and he was nice in /m and ts - as most of MMAC,
A day after I transferred to JQ I went to jadequarry.com because I thought joining a community is better then just joining a server. But that forum is awful, maybe it's because many of the flamers are fans of the moderation or mods are just kids.
I don't see why starting hate wars over community sites makes sense in any way and I don't get it why a forum team allows that. You want to keep a good community on JQ - you won't by flaming guilds on your server for whatever reason. Sure, argue by "we were there first, we are the community" but remember you are maybe 10% of the servers population and you need that other 90% or you end up like HoD.
