On a seperate topic, I would like Agg to consider coming back to BG, here are the reasons:

1.  The reasons for Agg to leave BG at first place do not apply anymore and actually apply to SOS. SOS is much more stacked compare to BG and the ex-TA guilds Agg has trouble with are on SOS now

2.  The reputation of Agg on SOS is overshadowed by the more prominent guilds there like PRX and ex-DB guilds, the contribution by Agg for SOS is marginall and under-appreciated

3.  BG actually really needs Agg at its current time zone.  Agg will make a much bigger contribution and be appreciated by the whole server a lot more

4. Major guilds on BG understand why Agg chose to leave in the first place and do not harbor ill feeling.  If Agg choose t come back now it would boost Agg's reputation as a guild come to help its old friends when they are in desperate needs.

SoS loves AGG.  Welcome Agg!!  Hope you enjoy your stay because we enjoy having you :).

One of the reasons why they chose to leave BG was because they thought it was going to wind up like HoD.
You mean like HoD before TA or after TA?

And as predicted so has it come to pass. The Sea of Sorrows has washed in to the tier of tears. Titans walk the shores. You have been tested and found wanting. Your assumptions have proven incorrect. We are here again and nothing will be as it was.

Who falls first to the 2nd tier?

Who will suffer the ridicule of those spurned so vilely in past weeks?

So much pride, so far to fall...

So late, yet so prideful. What did you think was going to happen, that you would fall in rank? Even the first commander of a certain guild in SoS quit the game a while ago.

Welcome to tier one, again, as I am one hundred percent certain your server will remain atop the leaderboards for ever~

"they're gone".

SoS has no queues, no EU guilds, and not enough NA guilds to fill all of the maps.

JQ and SBI calls them stacked.

Yeah, they haven't changed much since their QQ days when they couldn't beat HoD.  Expect them to beg the devs to break up SoS next week if they win!

Commander Jedahs is still active on SoS, his guild is donating $1000 to charity.

Sorry, when you were talking about the first commander on SoS, I thought you were referring to the first commander of SoS?

I think I know the commander that you meant to say, are you talking about the one that transferred off SoS while we were losing to IOJ?

I have to say -- some of the most fun fights I've had in about a month were all this week. Though the overall score may not be perfect in the minds of SBI'ers... being a part of a great team going against other great teams is what the game is about. I really don't mind losing overall as long as the groups I'm running with still have a competitive chance to have a fun, dominating night in whichever map we're playing. Those of us who logged on... we couldn't be 'everything' but we still brought the pain train we always bring in within our own scopes of influence.

And though there will always be QQing as far as WvW points are concerned... by those who feel their gaming experience is defined by said numbers...

SoS has brought a far more civil crowd to this board than some of the trolls/wagon-jumpers that plagued this thread during the 3 week fight with BG involved.

You've definitely earned your spot in T1 in terms of being both competitive and respectful in general. And those of us who stopped even reading these forums as much because of the crazy trolls weeks ago... well.. we see it and we appreciate it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We're all playing a great game, and as far as this current 3-way pairing goes... I have a feeling the war's only just begun ;).

LOL ,thread 23 page long and you say no QQ.  difference this week is that we and JQ do QQ ,new server SOS no QQ and earn respect.

,you even feel need to talk about Blackgate in your post which to me is more QQ.  If you less forum warrior and more WvW warrior maybe we win?  just thought i have.

Yep.  There are actually far shorter queues on SoS than there were on DB.  That was one of the main reasons we left DB and came to SoS.  On DB there were 2+ hour queues during NA primetime, but the NA population on SoS was very small, so even with us here we almost never have queues.  Even now, though, during NA primetime we'll have PRX on one map, the AoI guilds on another, and then 2 maps that are not covered as well.  And like was mentioned, we have almost no EU presence.

You're so correct on this...  That's what I don't understand either.  Whenever I tried to logon to EB, the queues are usually a few minutes.  I would hop on with fellow guildies to one of the borderlands instantly.  Most of them were quite empty and easy to get in.  So where did the stacking came from when no queues exists?  And yes, this is during N.A. primetime.  I'm on the west coast...

Thats cause its a numbers game/population.  Teamwork, communication, community, and skills don't matter.  Anyhow this is about the time SOS, slows down on WvW.  When its in the bag.  Not wait and try to win in the end.  So goodluck SBI and JQ on fighting for 2nd.  Been a fun week, i assume you guys will blitz at the start of this next reset.  Secretly hoping JQ gets 2nd (think some Warhammer comrades are there) :)  Stay hungry SOS, this was only round 1 of the heavyweight match.  Put PS2 down friday night :P

Yeah it's been an excellent week and I've had a ton of fun. While I have nothing but respect for the competition, it is nice to stick it to all the guys (on other servers and on ours) who said every week that SoS had peaked and wouldn't go any further :) We proved them wrong, and personally I'm looking forward to a lot of great fights in T1 over the next few weeks.

/Agree with most of the good natured posts in here.  We came, we saw, we had a blast!  We know you had event attrition, so did we, but I think it may have hit you harder than us.  That being said, SoS is going to have to bring its A game to continue to compete in lieu of the Holiday attrition upon all 3 servers now.  SBI and JQ both have not only earned their stripes in T1, they are part of the landscape here.  Its been a pleasure competing with you guys, and looking forward to seeing all servers at 100%!

Shout out to all forum posters who obviously read all the negative posts, the QQ posts, the excuses, and trash talking, and the poor winners baying away in here like a bunch of moronic donkeys, and still posted GGs and GJs.  Its easy to reduce these posts to mud slinging and trash talking, takes a better kind of person to stay above the mud and win or lose, keep positive and respectful.  Cheers!

SoS is the new King of the Hill.

Come at us, bros!

Seriously though, the epic fights that are coming will be memorable. Once we're finally past the holiday season we'll see who reigns supreme. SoS might not be the final victor in that fight but we'll be a major obstacle to anyone who tries to get in the way. Kudos to this match-up on all sides.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Our perceptions are based on what is happening at the given time.

When the match started, SBI did not feel threatened by SoS cause the point trend at the time was insufficient to derail SBI. By comparison, Blackgate in first matchup was far more devastating out of the gate. However, once the new content was out & people started to realise there was a new gear threadmill, SBi presence plummeted. Our player's who WvW regularly never viewed SoS as stacked. SoS came in motivated & determined to win, so props for that. Weekly matches require turning up & putting in the effort which you guys have done superbly. Another server fighting competitively for T1 can only be hugely positive for WvW. I'm hopefull SBI will show its capability at some point in the future.

Congratz on the win.

The tears are delicious.
Trying to devalue the win, by making claims of being stacked is just lol.

But I labeled JQQ as never being #1, due to bad rating system, and not beating the real #1 server.
Same applies.  1 week does not make you #1. this is not a championship game.  A bad rating system that propels a #3 to #1 after a single win, vs weeks of SBI being #1 solidly.
SBI is still #1 whether the score board says so or not.

I'm more concerned with the trend of WvW participation going downhill across the board due to various reasons, with more and more guilds leaving the game, than who's winning or losing in tier 1 =/

We have finally done it!!! :D

First off, credit to all of the opponents that we have faced over the months and for the good sportsmanship and support from many of you. Many of the battles and match ups that we have had against each other have been fierce and tense and in my view some of the most epic of all time, well done!

Thanks so much to everyone on Sea of Sorrows for their effort! Not just for this week, but all the weeks leading up to it and to everyone that contributed to make this happen. We’ve all worked really hard and had a great team ethic and we couldn’t have done it without each other, a big thank you to ALL of you guys from all over the world!

We’ve also  joined a very exclusive club now. Henge of Denravi, Jade Quarry and Stormbluff Isle. These are the only servers to have won in North America, and as of 11/23 Sea of Sorrows joins them!

We are the champions!!!! And nothing can ever take that away from us! :D

Its a concern.
Hopefully Anet will improve their patching.  And word of mouth will bring back a stable population.
The game is "ftp" remember.  We don't have to worry about a normal mmo, sub based attrition, and die off.
Ideally, we should be looking at a casual population like a LoL, not a typical mmo.  But Anet needs to work on getting tourneyments and spvp working well. as well as promoting WvW.  Leaderboards, etc..

Thanks mate :)

I agree with some of your points, I think though that the new content has effected all WvW servers, SoS has been suffering from the same issues this week as you guys and trust me we're not stacked :P

Overall the fighting was very evenly spread over 24 hour periods, to me there were 3 major turning points that decided the difference in this match up.

- First off was the good start on the weekend set by our guilds that prepared for it
- Second was planning a full blown assault during the one off PvE event while we are hoping that you guys are caught unaware and we can break the morale of your militia
-Third was the Oceanian population on SoS being able to stand up against the War Machine and defeat them in their own prime time on the key day of the week. These events together would have cost 30-40k points alone.

The rest of the gains and losses was very fierce and gradual. Very tense match up and I never felt like it was over until I woke up on the final day, you guys are bloody dangerous.

I'm not sure this is a problem, did anyone actually expect the game to retain it's immediate post-release player numbers? Of course participation is going to drop off as people get tired and take breaks and guilds fall apart and new games come out and so forth, I personally don't see it as an issue as long as there's a solid playerbase remaining at the end of it, which I'm fairly confident there will be. The sky isn't falling :)

Thanks everyone for a fun match this week, let's all get ready to kick eachother in the teeth in just a handfull of hours.  A big shout out to SoR, my guild still talks about facing you guys being one of the most fun matches we had when the lead was constantly shifting hands all week.  I'm hoping we'll see a lot of lateral movement and servers shifting in and out of tiers to keep competition going strong.

Ritsuko you're one of the finest players/commanders I've played with. It sucked playing against you this week, especially when I saw you (hey how many relentless, Asuran commanders does [SYN] have who tactics I recognised ;) )  - I hope to play with you again some time in the future.  I share your concerns about general  population (particularly non prime).

Few things:

1.  This victory belongs primarily to the hardcore Oceanic WvWers of Sea of Sorrows, most notably Jedahs and [MERC] and [OCX] but to many others as well, that have stayed with SoS since the early days and battled each week.  The Oceanics of SoS had the most to prove as they were constantly doubted:
  • They couldn't stand up to SoR's Nine Dragons and CRS, but they did stand up, and stand tall.
  • They would get crushed by IoJ's Oceanics, but instead beat them three consecutive times to prove who has the best Oceanic WvWers.
  • War Machine would roll over SoS's Oceanics, but they didn't.

2.  Secondarily, many NA and other guilds, hearing the call of from the SoS Oceanics, joined the server, when it was ranked 10th or lower, for a challenge.  Instantly we all worked together and communicated and shared the load.  Even though most nights we always had a map with nearly zero coverage during our NA timeslot (and to this day virtually no Euro coverage), we typically had the best ppt while pulling double duty and constant all-calls.  Much respect to guilds and alliances such as FoE, AoI, WORK, HuG, FANG, TSym, RMA and DiE (forgive me if I forgot any).  We have many talented folks that, when they're on the map, put in great work.  The militia and commanders do a great job as well.  I have witnessed extremely little infighting on maps during matches.

3.  To JQ and SB, thanks for a great match and I salute your hard work and skill.  You folks deserve to be mentioned among the best servers of all time in GW2 for your consistency.  I can only hope that SoS shows such consistency at the top.
