Do you agree?
1. The chain event bug out most of the time. May be is my luck but none of my alts able to complete the chain at all. NPC always bug out.
2. The new dungeon is not bad but you must have a regular grind group to increase your "level". Even in day one people don't want to group with other "under level" players. Disconnect is also an issue.
3. Frankly the new skin looks ugly......

1. I haven't tried that but earlier I asked a friend and he mentioned a bug. He was also stuck at some part in the quest.
2. Totally have to disagree here. A friend and I made a party inviting people we didn't know. It was - of course since it's new - not only very easy to find players for our group but all were very patient exploring the different parts and finding out the mechanics to beat boss or to advance in general. Maybe I got lucky today with the groups since PuGs can be everything from really bad to great teams. But I really disagree with you when you talk about "regular grind". No grinding here at all in my oppinion.
3. Well I haven't seen any of those but I guess it's always a question of what taste a person has.

The dungeon.
1. I got kicked because i am a mesmer and the 'leader' says he doesnt want mesmers in it. Wish i could report that guy. Class-ism ingame. First world problems. Note, this kicking happened when the chest appeared and i didnt get it yet. I did blocked that guy though, is it possible to report?
2. I wanted to leave because i have lunch etc etc and urgently need to go. Result? Flaming by other WoWkids for 'Why do u join this dungeon then? Gtfo'. Lifeless people. Note, this happened AFTER we finished a fractal. Not in the middle, not at the beginning.
3. Oh, so apparently you need full exotics in order to join a party? No exotics? OK! Kick
4. Kicking people because it is their first time in the dungeon. "Excuse me XXXslayerXXX, how do i do this jump puzzle, i am new here --' Kicked.
5. Party leader got bored, so he and his friend kick everyone out. Griefing.
6. Player A L>dungeon. Player B invite. Player B ask: what difficulty. Player A says 'i am new, or i am difficulty 1'. Kicked. (NOTE, neither party mentioned what difficulty they are on)
7. There is racism in the game. One guy kicked a sylvari because he doesnt like trees. Thank god i am a human.

What no mesmers?! but you got that amazing quickness elite and stuff!
And how can he see if you have if you have exotic or not? You should lie about it. About being new too. Lying gets you far with close minded people.

5. wow thats unlucky :/
7. Im sure he thought he was pretty funny there.

he says link items. I linked only several exotics as i have partial. He asked, wheres others? I said i have rares but there isnt any much difference in it. So i got kicked. As for mesmers, the 'leader', who is in the SAME guild as the exotic guy(not gonna name it, but it is a popular wvw JQ guild) kicked me because he whinned about how my clones aggro stuff. Well, we have to kill those veteran ascalon soldiers at the courtyard ANYWAY. Wow, people these days.

That's the problem when they start introducing gear grind into this game.  Welcome to the new and improved GW2!

By the way, I don't feel like playing the dungeon because I am a casual player and has only masterworks gear.  This game is getting too gear-dependent for my taste.

I only had a short time to play and it started ok, I was a little unhappy that the portal was a 5 person dungeon.
Had I known that in advance I could have planned to do it with a few friends, it meant my Ranger could get in but none of my lower level alts.

That's a little silly for a one off event.
Big battle search for debris another battle I didn't manage to get to due to lack of time I had available then a dungeon I couldn't get into.
I think  lower level players would have appreciated getting to the new island in some form of assault like the claw island mission then you could throw in a dungeon.

Events are for all and to stall pretty much at the start must be a little discouraging for some.
Sadly in this game Dungeons are for the elite amongst the player base if your face doesn't fit your out, that's not 100% true but it happens enough to make trying to do dungeons often an unpleasant experience.

I give the new monsters a big plus they were great looking and tough to beat.
Looking forward to exploring the new island hopefully not just via a dungeon.
6 out of 10 based the first 2 hours of play

That's a shame.  I don't think you'd have much of a good time playing with him anyway.  I can't stand that kind of crap behavior. I'd play with ya if we were on the same server.

If you think this is bad, wait till later.  I am pretty sure many pugs will demand infused ascended items, regardless of whether they really need them or not.  It is the same pattern all over again.

Yeah it sucks, the instance is actually kind of fun. However, the gw2 community is horrible and the game... well has no end game.

True it does seem tha same pattern but in gw1 it took quite a while for the rot to set in.
Initially it was standing in a town players had numbers over their heads so you could see the parties that were forming and who to talk to ie the leader.
They would usually be spamming what they were looking for.
All pretty easy and parties even pugs were fun.

After a while and the builds listed on guildwiki came out parties started getting a little picky, you had to prove in their terms how good you were any doubt and you were kicked.

Well this is just whats happening in GW2 only its in right at the beginning, anet cannot force players to accept anybody into their parties but its a shame the dungeons are not as much fun as the rest of pve.

Luckily there is still plenty for me to do outside of dungeons.

And guess why I have been trying to push for a flatter gear stat where people can get max weapon/max armor upon completing the game and further grind only gets them nicer looking skins.  But there are many people in this forum who want to be rewarded with higher stats for their grind.

This means that either the casual players buy gems for gold to buy expensive gear or they give up pugging with others because pugging with others can lead to horrible experiences.  And for what it is worth, unlike GW1, you don't have heroes that you can use, to avoid the horrible pugs.  Casual players usually do not stay in hardcore guilds for long, they get kicked for their inactivity, so that means they can't rely on their almost empty casual guild.  This is why I have been saying this game is not casual friendly.

My guild has only 2 person (including me) online at this time 10:11pm PST on a friday night.:(

It's turning our beautiful game to the worst possible trash kind of mmo around, uberbugged grind based and with racism. There are way better and balanced, improved gearbased games around, if i have to waste time with kids kicking "noobs" just because lucky to be carried on an upper tier by his group.

p.s. I guess i met few hours ago the mesmer puzzled of why was kicked, talking on whisp about it.
Just block that kid, bro.

Word.  Things like this was why I left WoW.  Checked the GW2 server population today, and not a single server was full.  Pretty much a good indication on how popular this is.  I myself logged out in 5 minutes after checking with the mystic forge NPC and seeing packages for sale there.  Yeah the game is like a casino.  Worse than EQ's rng.  In EQ at least people got to chat while waiting for rng to happen.  Here we're to gather all sorts of stuff then do the rng in one big gamble.  I don't know what ANet is thinking.  Mytstic forge is the ticket to revenue?  Uh, I hope ANet tries more interesting items.

I am not even sure I want to do housing, but I believe ANet will earn more revenue from housing, and will not be driving people away with it, based on the interest from lots of other players in housing on this forum.

Sure there are players not interested in housing, but to earn more revenue, ANet really should ensure more play styles are supported.  Just my 2 cents.  I don't mind dungeons to support the players who love it.  So why should we ignore the players who like housing?  Listen to them and their $ may help this game more than we imagine.

I plead guilty to that, I want anything that takes such a huge commitment to be other than a pretty skin, but I see how this doesnt help when it comes to dungeons.

Mind you gw1 players wouldnt go into the underworld unless you proved you had done it so many times before.
Don't remember the tokens they asked for as my brain doesnt work well before 7 am but they were your passport to getting accepted.
Sadly you could buy them so they were no proof at all.

Heroes will come into this game too because so many players take it all so seriously they don't just need to do a dungeon they need to do it in record time.
This means the concept of playing for fun isnt that common.

I wish the dungeons were open like the rest of the game and you just meet up with players casually, that part of the game is imo a huge sucess.

Wandering through the bandithaunt caverns in the start area was fun, that would be great as a multi level dungeon.
Casual friendly and fun but getting much harder further down you go.
Oh well I can dream.

I have to agree.

The sole redeeming thing about the update is the dungeon, and it's plagued with so many issues, some intentional and some not.

You get free event chain and whine about it? Noone forces you to do the event. And if you want to do fractals just go with your guild, and actually go there for fun not to grind it like you do everything else, we had 3 guild parties running yesterday and all had great time.
Cant imagine why you would want to do dungeon with randoms and without VOIP in first place...

1. Odd
2. Actually its kind of rude to do that, cause if you leave during a fractal before youve finished the 3 to complete the dungeon, they basically have to start over again, so yah douchey move.
3. Guy kicking you was a dork unless you were trying to do above lvl 1, since lvl 5s can go into the dungeon without any real problems.
4. Kind of odd since the jumping puzzles are all pretty straight forward, not sure why you really need to ask for help.
5. Dumb
6. Ohkay....
7. uh What?

I'm not sure if your serious for most of these or just making up stuff cause have never heard this kind of thing, even on WoW LFD which is full of the biggest trolls you can imagine. Only time ive really heard complaints about the new dungeon that dont actually involve the difficulty.

Yeah I hate those guys, kicking people from their party because they are not 1337 enough instead of helping out the newbies.  Which was why I set it up so that I could clear UW with my heroes, without their help.  ;)

GW1 could have been much worse if not for the fact that max weapon/armor are easy to obtain.  So far the pug for the daily zmissions have been pretty accepting.  I can just imagine them demanding for "exotic"/"ascended"/"legendary" gear before allowing anyone into their party, if these gear tiers ever apply to GW1.

In GW2, before doing a tough area, pugs usually put their faith on maxed stat equipment.  Therefore, they demanded for "exotic" now and would probably demand "ascended"/"legendaries" in the future.

well, i know the event kinda sucked but it probably wouldve been a lot better if it wasnt uber lagfest and i could use my skills. The fractals are pretty fun imo, nice addition id say, but exclusion because your not at difficulty lvl... a lot, could definately be a big problem in the future. The only fractal i didnt like was the swamp one, sooo frustrating. Havent played on the new pvp map but i plan too. I just really hope that the new zone is fun cause im not a fan of the risen.

Being excluded from parties in GW1 meant you had to suck it up and try to do it with heroes. Being excluded from parties in GW2 means you can't do that content.

True and Heroes will come because in spite of anets trying to get away from the tank monk setup they couldnt prevent the prejudice of some players.

gw1 I spent ages tring to get in a party for the final mission then just took my henchmen and did it myself.
They were not hard just had to go slower.
Never did the final underworld quest chain everyone was into speed runs by then and I was still a plodder.

You'd think they'd WANT mesmers in.... Portal and quickness help so much on so many parts of the instance lol, make things a LOT faster (especially the swamp one). Some people just don't know what's good for them I guess =/ (Only part we had trouble due to clones was the dredge boss, but our mes quickly learned that he shouldn't use them).Unfortunately there's going to be elitist pricks like that in every game, wait awhile and they might get bored and leave or just find a good group of friends or likeminded people and stick with them :P

Cant imagine why you would want to do dungeon with randoms and without VOIP in first place...

You call it a free chain event, I call it content players paid for. They must release new content to keep us entertained or else players will leave. People paid for all content of the game. Do you enjoy settling for mediocrity?

Wut? Why is this even allowed in the first place?

There are some small minded people who think Mesmers do the lowest amount of damage of all classes.

... and as we all know, damage means everything.

Just move on to a different group if you get kicked before the start, only the griefing part is really the douchey move. You seem much too hung up on this. That guy's the leader, so he's entitled to whatever he wants with the group. I don't know why you feel slighted to be excluded. If you're good, then it's really their loss.

Personally, I've had a lot of fun with the dungeons. They're pretty fun to figure out and play, and the pugs I've played with went on my friend's list.

So the event was a lagfest the investigation is bugged, drops are bind on acquire in hte dungeon....

GJ anet once again instead of fixing the game more buggy / plain bad content was released. And some of the atrocious bugs that have been here since beta are still here.
