We paid for all content at the release of the game, there is no sub and they are not required to release any content for free at all.
And so what if people get bored and leave, they will come back when new things are released.
I think it's nice we get new things outside of expansions

The sole fact that me and the pug I was playing with had to re-think our strategies and combine all of our efforts in order to progress to the next difficulty is great. This is exactly what I was looking for, some challenges. I can't imagine how terrible it would feel to have to complete a level with a very bad group, but that is just another part of life.

Fractals isnt going to be one of those 20min dungeons like AC, it's going to require effort from everyone to get any good progress in it. So why are you whining about pugging it on the first night and being kicked from a group? get a good pve guild and do it with them, its as simple as that.
people kicking classes they don't like or don't think your geared enough, their loss, i ran with 4 80s and a level 20 from my guild and managed to do it very easily.
We're 3-4 months into the game and your bitching about having heroes too? you guys really need to suck it up.

But the event itself? Absolute garbage. It's something I'd have expected in 1998. GM appears and spawns a million mobs in a city. EPIC EVENT OF THE CENTURY.
They really need to stop doing this, because they obviously lack the basic knowledge to support this kind of stuff.
Massive lag, invisible mobs and players, zero skill involved, boring mechanics. I had people in my guild dropping the event half-way because it was so absolutely awful.
And the bugged investigation quest. I'm *ing tired of playing a beta every single time they update something.
We are three months after release and they still can't properly test anything before a major update.
At least we didn't get the massive login/broker/guild chat crash of doom this time. Good job Anet, it only took three months for a fix.

Only problem i encountered was in the one dungeon where you need to use the hammer to break some seals...... twice the hammer randomly disappeared after being dropped on the ground, and the only way to get it back (didn't respawn at the alters) was for everyone to die to reset from last check point. Very annoying.
The swamp dungeon is plain stupid too.

I spent 5+ hours in Fractals of the Mist with PUGs and my experience was overall positive. Sounds like some just got unlucky with their groups.

This has already been mentioned but I want to draw more attention to it. Unless you have completed a full round of fractals and returned to the safe zone, leaving the party (even at the end of a fractal) will force the entire group to quit. It's worse than quitting in the middle of a regular dungeon.
I really enjoyed Fractals of the Mist. If A-Net finds some way to allow groups to replace members, this dungeon will be even better.

1. I got kicked because i am a mesmer and the 'leader' says he doesnt want mesmers in it. Wish i could report that guy. Class-ism ingame. First world problems. Note, this kicking happened when the chest appeared and i didnt get it yet. I did blocked that guy though, is it possible to report?
2. I wanted to leave because i have lunch etc etc and urgently need to go. Result? Flaming by other WoWkids for 'Why do u join this dungeon then? Gtfo'. Lifeless people. Note, this happened AFTER we finished a fractal. Not in the middle, not at the beginning.
3. Oh, so apparently you need full exotics in order to join a party? No exotics? OK! Kick
4. Kicking people because it is their first time in the dungeon. "Excuse me XXXslayerXXX, how do i do this jump puzzle, i am new here --' Kicked.
5. Party leader got bored, so he and his friend kick everyone out. Griefing.
6. Player A L>dungeon. Player B invite. Player B ask: what difficulty. Player A says 'i am new, or i am difficulty 1'. Kicked. (NOTE, neither party mentioned what difficulty they are on)
7. There is racism in the game. One guy kicked a sylvari because he doesnt like trees. Thank god i am a human.

Cant imagine why you would want to do dungeon with randoms and without VOIP in first place...
Guilds exhibit the same behavior, not level 80, not full exotics, not difficulty +3 yet, and you are not welcome.
Free content, the was totally bugged. You get what you pay for.

-Made a party pretty fast.
-Get through the first dungeon fairly well. Except that our level 80 Elementalist keeps dying every encounter, and keeps saying that Elementalists aren't made to be hit.
-Second dungeon, no one knows what to do. Everyone but me wipes, and we decide to reset the dungeon.
-Someone leaves, so we get a new guy.
-We get through the first 2 dungeons fairly well. Once again we have the Elementalist dying as soon as an enemy even looks at him.
-At the start of dungeon 3 (the Dredge dungeon) the Elementalist has to leave, so we're with 4 people now. After a party wipe we figure out how to progress.
-Get to the final boss. Takes a while to find out what to do.
-After finally knowing what to do we have 1 person go to the bathroom for 10 minutes in the middle of the boss fight, so we are left with 3 people.
-Person finally comes back, have another one disconnect from the game.
-Figure out we could do it with 3 people anyway.
-Another person dies. The rest dies. Boss reset.
Well, that was a waste of time. At least I got... 15 tokens this morning.

GJ anet once again instead of fixing the game more buggy / plain bad content was released. And some of the atrocious bugs that have been here since beta are still here.
Yes, but there is a bright side to this. The PvE community is getting a taste of what the WvW players have been complaining about since BWE2 in combating lag, invisible enemies and rendering/culling. Wonder if the PvE side will adopt survival stack/turtle tactics to be able to play in this environment???? Since the best you can do in that situation is keep spamming auto attack trying to get a target.
Maybe now that a larger percentage of the population has experienced it Anet will finally do something about it????

In the world of gear grinding, damage does mean everything. Sooner or later GW2 is just going to have another competitive "cooperative" PvE experience.

Yep it will end up just like in WoW when they started up the weekly raid boss. You had people wanting full tier 10 raid gear, for a tier 7 raid.
I missed all of yesterday, and I might miss all of today and will miss all of Sunday, maybe I will get hit with a hurricane and get the event extended. So I will be so far behind doubt there will be much chance I will see any of this. To the people saying get a good guild to run it, send me an invite. The one good guild I had all the officers and regular players went back to panda's, and guilds I have tried since then have all been to afraid to talk in guild chat.

Honestly, ArenaNet should just release the hunger royale game again. All my friends loved it, the gw2 community loved it, ArenaNet doesn't think so apparently.

If you are in a guild that exhibits that sort of behaviour, its time you started looking for a new one. In our guild the main goal is to have fun together, rewards are irrelevant.

I thought the new update meant point 1 wasn't possible any more? From what I read, if a leader kicks someone, it also kicks them...

1. Agreed it's a annoying that it's stuck, at least they extended the time for it though.
2. New dungeon seems cool. You have to remember though, the whole point of it is for pve groups to do dungeon progression, not really for random pick up groups to troll around in.
3. Look fine to me, really a matter of personal taste.
and I'll add a point of my own
4. They really need to find a way to help players keep track in these events. Maybe do a something like the green star for personal story, but with a separate -insert color here- star instead, that's there just for the event.
Overall the events themselves are fun and interesting. Thumbs up from me.

Those people are absolutely out of their minds. I find that Mesmers have some of the best sustained (iwarlock) and burst damage (illusionary persona) of any profession I played. They just don't begin showing their ultra-sharp teeth until after 60, and not everyone has the patience to take one that far.

If GW2 was a crappy game, I honestly wouldn't mind, because it would be easy to move on and take it for what it was worth. But the fact that it's truly the best game I've ever played makes the fact that it is so rife with major bugs all the more heartbreaking.
Here's hoping the good people of ArenaNet get their act together soon and bring the quality of the game mechanics up to match the superb quality of the content.
As it is, they are failing to live up to the high standards they have set for themselves, and both we and they know they can do better.
