Upgrade to what? More stats? More infusion? I really hope that it won't upgrade the stats, as it would mean even more Fractals grind. The infusion bonus would be fine, as it is a defensive stat for just 1 attack.

So if there are more such recipes and due to their uniqueness you can only get one ring, amulet and back (I wonder), it would take me over 600 gold just to get the highest agony resistance with Berserker attributes. What?!

i love anet logic, hey lets make anything worth having in the game require 250 of some of the most idiotically expensive items in the game.  

anyone who doesnt buy gold, farm 6 hours a day, or didnt take advantage of early TP low prices is pretty much screwed when it comes to anything more than basic exotics

Can you have x2 ascended rings and earrings? Or are you only able to have one of each? What about amulet?

No one posted proof, but since Bloods are used in crafting as the fine material for the Berserker's gear, one can assume.

But I am not sure if spending 75g for a backpiece is really worth it.

Well yeah, Exotic's are way too easy to get. Adding a new tier of gear only slightly priceyer than the current top end gear(well ex-current), would make no sense. To be honest, it's not really that pricey either. I have around 80ish gold, which is not that much, but I wasted quite a lot on dyes and random pre-cursor attempts. Never did any hardcore grinding, but have played a few hours per day. Still ain't gonna waste it on the backpiece.

Ascended gear seems to be aimed at the people, who, not only way want more than exotics, but are also willing to invest the time needed to get the new gear.

Guys you only need that ridiculous amount of ridiculous items (ecto) if you only wanna continue to progress in fractals and stack agony resistance. You only need 1 Vial in order to craft ascended backpack, it drops from lvl 1-9 fractals.

Everyone wants one, So obviously they're doing something right.

I hope there is a Power/precision/condition one, that isn't a *ingn quiver.

There's 2 different Ascended crafted backpieces, the book and the quiver. The difference being, besides obviously the skin, is a offensive or defensive slot. The quiver is nice, but would have loved a good looking long cloak though, guardian with a quiver who can't wield a bow is also... myeah

Don't worry ANet has fixed the problem.

The market for ascended back items just expanded from gold buyers to gold buyers + people who got a 100+ gold item drop from the karka event.

That's like 100 more people out of 2 million.

As far as I know you don't, its just that you'll have a bit harder time because of the agony. But its something you can dodge out of and if you have a well balanced team you shouldn't really worry about getting ascended gear THAT fast..but it will be needed along the line of 10+++

Do not use powerful venom sacs, these do not combine with the vial...

for the ancient bone one, it combines with both philo stones and crystals. Does it make a difference which one I pick?..

I think philo stones give you a quiver (offensive infusion slot), crystals give you a  book (defensive infusion slot). The other stats should be the same. That's just, what I observed from the currently discovered recipes. They all seem to follow this pattern.

does anyone have an Infused slot used, what extactly is the stats on it,  is it used +5 resistance,  also does anyone know what the Prototype fractal capacitor is used for. looks like its for another type of ring or back piece.

Looks like ascend item are a 25% increase in stat points.

The infused slot is used by the infusion upgrade bought from fractals dungeons inside entrance (the lab). When you apply the upgrade to your ascended item, the infused slot is replaced by +5 infusion (+5 resistance to Agony).

The prototype is an ascended back slot just like the quiver, it's just bought with tokens(lots of them). If you read the description of it, you can see that it's a back slot item.

Made the +5 agony res +5 precision infusion today to upgrade our quivers with that I posted in the thread earlier. And yes, as posted above me, these are backpieces.
