Best dungeon experience ever!

Yes its easy once you get a good group who knows what to do, 1 person on the switches on the lava buckets running between all 4, this person needs perfect timing.

Other 4 team members all go ranged, ignore the adds there pointless just kite them, 4 members pull the boss while doing full damage on him always staying infront of him at long range pulling him from lava bucket to lava bucket.

You have to keep him flamed 24/7 so he can't heal and just keep pulling him in a large circle between buckets, focus damage and if everyone does it correctly in about 10 minutes or more he should be dead.


They need to add waypoints, add repair stations in between each mini dungeon, give more break options in between each mini dungeon and fix the dis connects issues for players to get back into the group.

They also need to add the ability for someone to leave and someone else to take that persons place on the team. Incase you lose someone.

If they put all that into it would make the dungeon alot more enjoyable.

Yes, we lost a few people and had to regroup again. But yeh we managed it in the end, first time we did it he literally regened all the time :e and never lost health even with superheated. Took us 25 mins but we did it xD The giant stone behemoth chained up thing...that map is the BEST LOOK AREA in the whole of gw2. Amazing

Well, depending on what fractals you get given it's certainly possible to get up to level 4 without even facing the two that benefit heavily from voice (Swamp & Dredge.) Anything that requires precise coordination is always hard on pugs but, like I said, I keep having to basically 3 man fractals - I'm sure if I got 4 other good players they'd be doable.

I just did both without voip with the dredge and swamp but we did wipe 3 times in dredge with PUGs. =P

If you are crying that you cant get in a PUG to get past level 2 then please quit this game now. Dungeons have been utter shit until now. Finnally we get a dungeon that requires each party member to think and play their part or the grp fails at its entire. That was its whole purpose and intent. It is pretty easy though and doesnt start to get hard untill level 4, so if you cant PUG atleast till then maybe you should try some AC runs or somthing. ANet did an awsome job on this dungeon. Stop bitching about the minor bugs also, it could have been way worse and honestly I expected it to be. Anet did an outstanding job there also giving us a working dungeon.

It is indeed a nice dungeon. Way better than the old ones.

The only thing that spoils the fun is that people can't rejoin if they get a DC. Hope this will be fixed asap.

Agree the combination of puzzles etc make this one of the best dungeons I've played in any game

this was an incredibly fun dungeon IMO. The only part I have hated so far was the marsh but where you had to run those wisps...that was obnoxious...

Hopped into Lion's Arch and, since most my guild was already offline, grabbed a PUG, knowing it might be a tough haul.

Lucked into an awesome group. On the second half of the last fractal, we lost someone and they couldn't reconnect, but we managed to finish with 4 people.

Had loads of fun, and am going back today.

i think too that the fractal dungeon is a success, i really like the moods, the random parts, the survival side and the design ( not all path but a good part ) it really changes of the usual monolith and non changing at all dungeon, they already tried to break this throw the different npc to choose , they took it farther, the only question i am asking is the level feature, i really dunno how it 'll evolve in the future...

After a bad start, I've been playing up to level 3 in a 4-man PUG. Twice we had a disconnect of a guy at the first dungeon, so we just continued with 4. It's not that the dungeons are hard, it's frustrating to have people disconnect and unable to return or replace them. It's frustrating to fall off a cliff and not be able to return to your party unless your whole party commits suicide to reset the party.
Overall, the experience has been a mixed bag for me. I do like some of the fights we get. The environments look awesome. Challenge-wise it seems a lot more consistent than the normal dungeons. On the other hand, it brings a lot of frustration with the lack of waypoints, or a way to res back up for that matter. Also unable to replace or reconnect party members that disconnected or quit.

I fricking LOVE the fractals. Excellent presentation and a death system that finally makes the teamwork feel like a Guild Wars game.

I have never DC'd or had anyone in our party do it, but obviously it sounds like an issue.

But really, I don't know who all these fussy people are constantly ranting about content (before it was even out wtf) I suspect they smell of cheetos and WoW and unemployment. Oh well.

I hope Anet knows that they're satisfying a lot of their diehard fans.

The dungeons are a blast. The encounters, mechanics, and puzzles are engaging for all players involved. The teamwork required really makes completing it rewarding. The biggest thing I noticed was the improved lighting, mood, and environments. I've noticed most Fractals have random paths and bosses which keeps things fresh.

The most important thing to note isn't how good it is but how much it had improved. If Anet has created content like this after 3 months, just think what things will look like a year from now.

Yeah, I love the dungeon. It's absolutely awesome and nicely balances out the absolute fail that are the events.

I think I'm just gonna ignore the tomorrow's event.

Euhm it's first time it happened to me.

Every dungeon party I've been in for the last month or 2 has been able to get back together after crashes or disconnects, except when the player the dungeon 'belongs' to goes missing.

Fractals? There's no getting back together at all.

I had experienced that problem 3-4 times in cof, cm, and ac where a member of my party got dc-ed and could not get in back again, also no one else could get in his place inside, also similar problem happened with mad king dungeon few times. It's not to often but instances can bug for parties, not only dungeons

I agree completely.

At first, I was a bit skeptical honestly.
But as I went through the dungeon my jaw kept dropping, I kept smiling and having fun.
This is by far my best dungeon experience ever.
Vertical dungeons, transformations, great encounters (loved the mining suit fight), interesting mechanics (dying of cold, moving to not burn your feet, etc), water/air/ground combat, skill-based and just lovely in general.

I only have one issue which is Swamp.
Walls that close make the first part very RNG; if they all close quick it's impossible, even for a Thief or Ele, to get the wisp to the place.
Impossible and RNG are bad words for dungeons.
I can understand cripples, knockdowns and whatnot, but if 3 players can overcome all the obstacles they should not be closed out at random.

I am enjoying them as well. Ran in a pug for the first time in GW2 and it was pretty cool. More typing to explain things to people than I am used to, but overall had a good time. Also the dungeon is keeping people busy so when I decide to farm Cursed Shore it is nice and quiet. =)

Fractals is a terrible experience if you go with PUGs. I had to wait a full hour for my party to reach the top of the collosus map cause they were all apparently using touchpads or something. Otherwise it's a pretty amazing dungeon.

Lol at touchpads :D . All the difficulties I played so far 1,2,3 and 4 were with super random PUGs, no problems at all. I am very happy with my server (PvE wise, at WvWvW we suck), all the PUGs for every dungeons were great, never had an issue so far.

BTW, this is the best Dungeon in Gw2 so far, it is so fun, so crazy, I love it.

It feels like I'm playing a table top RPG and ArenaNet is the DM.

It's phenomenal.


The best part about this dungeon: they can keep adding more fractals as they please.

I got a couple PUGs pretty quick since my guild didn't want to do the fractals. I had one group that was really good and then one group that was really bad. The first group was good because every member did the opposite of what the second team did; the second team put strategy before tactics, which is putting the cart before the horse. Remember, solid tactics and teamwork works better than trying to get everyone to get the choreography perfect, at least in my experience.


The fractals are very fun, when I run them with my guildmates I know it'll be a blast, PUGs can be hit or miss as this has more of a tendency to employ build wars.

Three minor fights so easy I could solo them, followed by a dolphin swimming challenge that takes far too long and has no pay-off other than armor breakage, followed by a jellyfish boss combat that I didn't even need to move around for more than once per minute. Mind, I still needed to move around a LOT, because it lasted many minutes because of its humongous health pool.

Drag the jelly to the electrified cages, they shred it. That's the mechanic of the fight.

Absolutely agree. They were awesome and we can't wait to do them again. Best dungeons yet. The only thing I would change is a repair area right outside the legendary so you go in fixed. I lost my shirt in front of a bunch of guys, lol.

I agree they are the best dungeons yet. I've pugged one level and run another with guildmates and find them to be a blast. Each mini-dungeon has it's self-contained little gimmick which is interesting and makes the experience of going through each of them for the first time feel good.

and while I have a few minor issues with it, I overall think the fractals are a success.
