Fractal of the Mists; Swampland Fractal

We need help with figuring out how to do this one, me and my group spent about 1-2 hours in here dying, being knocked over and bleeding to death.

All the ones in the green circle we figured out how to get back, the other ones in the red circle however are seemingly impossible, all the doors close as you approach them and you have to run in an inverted S pattern accross the map to reach the southern parts, which you don't have enough time for. Even with constant speed boosts and teleports as well as avoiding all the traps and not being crippled we couldn't make it back in time.

So, please someone help a fellow out and explain what we did wrong. And don't tell me you have to have a Mesmer with portal.

For this one the best thing to do is first have someone stand on the tripwire that in the path of where you drop off the wisps. That way the wisp carries don't have to worry about that. Then get 1 person to each wisp but do not pick it up until there is one person at every wisp. Then at the same time pick up the wisps and run to where you deposit them, but do not deposit them until everyone is there. Then at the same time deposit the wisp and viola.

We did all of this except the final part, why do we need to wait with depositing the whisps? Does that somehow affect the timer?

Bit late response, but you can run over certain trees near the ones that popup, kinda like a jumping puzzle

Thanks, we noticed that towards the end but at that point we were already so frustrated we didn't have the energy to try that tactic. Definitely something we'll look into next time though.

Some of the branches blocking the path are actually can be climbed on. Or you can try to set a mesmer portal in the northern area to bypass all the higher-path trees.

Also, putting in the wisps does not change the timer, however if one of you need to run over a part where all the wisps are put in, then he needs to run further and has higher chance to either simply fail the timer, or get rooted a very short distance away from the tree. ( the latter happened to us once)

we tried mesmer portals, they did not work. Perhaps our version was bugged, but i doubt it :)

We were able to successfully complete this (with only 4 at that) with the use of Portal.

I have no idea how one might succeed without a Mesmer, but since my main is a Mesmer, it's not so much a problem for me...

If someone figures out how to run this w/o Portal, please fill me in! A video would be good, too. :)

if you go for middle (most of the time the orb with the longest way) you need stunbreaker for the traps and a warrior on your side.
shake it off plus warhorn buff works really fine. utilize your class, change skills to run faster, remove conditions, stunbreaker and so on.
it takes some time to figure it out, but its doable. without mesmer.

You can pick up a wisp and immediately drop it (weapon swap) to change where they spawn.  You can therefore dictate which wisps you run.  There are some that are much easier than others.  Personally, I love getting Drake + Spiders + Spike Traps.

You just pick it up and run, you can see all the traps and make sure you have speedboost up at all times then its insanely easy and fast. This is the best path you can get timewise.
