I was just wondering if there are any plans to impliment new weapons into Guild Wars 2.

New weapon types? Like as in claws or something stupid? Or just more skins? They're always releasing new skins, even for this most recent event. They've also officially stated there'd be more legendaries.

I hope they won't do the WoW kind of expansions though.
Cost a crap load of cash and more grind.

I am talking about actual new weapons, not skins.
New weapons would mean more skills, which would lead to more diversity.
I am not speaking of ninja throwing stars or claws or anything else ridicilous.

Well truthfully speaking, claws arent that stupid. Ninja stars are though. I suppose a whip would be easy to throw in as well

In a game where a greatsword can be a slab of metal half a meter wide, it's hard to talk about silly weapons...

New releases are possible, but given the amount of work needed (whole sets of new gear, skins, animations for several professions....), I'd say unlikely.

Hey, they did it for GW1 expansions. New skills, professions, weapons, along with all the stuff you would expect from an expansion.

There is already new weapons skins that drop in the FotM dungeon so you think a full fledged expansion that we have to pay fore won't add any new skins?

They were adding new skins to GW1 left right and center.

Great axes have been confirmed as an upcoming weapon type, I can only assume more are on the way as well

I would love to see great axes.

Also on my list are

Spears/polearms
Cross bows
Minigun & or rocket launcher (for engineer of course)
Kama (a japanese one handed scythe) or scythe
as well as a few others.



Also I would love to see a few more of the existing weapon types made available to more of the existing classes. (warhorn & axe for guardians, offhand sword for rogues etc...)

great axes, hallelujah!

not that my profession would even be able to use it. . . .  but it would be nice to see some of these big Norns swinging one around.

i'd like to see a katana.  and no its not so out of place/ stupid - Cantha is like, Asia.  no stop, it is, dont argue.

but yeah greats axes is a good direction, Halberds/Pikes/One Handed Hammers/Lances next for Guardians!!!!!
