Im sick of playing other MMOs where you have something rediculous like a 12 ability rotation along with 30 other keybinds to be aware of to use during certain situations.  I just want a class where I wont be stressed out and can just mash a few buttons and collect loot. Having a fast kill speed is also nice especially at max level when I will be farming level 80 areas.

If you haven't already, you might want to give Warrior a try.  Weapons like the mainhand Axe and the Rifle have very nice sustained damage delivered in a very simple method, while weapons like the Greatsword have high burst damage output that can clean up enemies quickly.  Additionally, Warriors are in both the highest health and armor tiers in the game, giving you more inherent survivability than any other class, so you'll have to spam fewer skills to survive.  Your profession mechanic is basically a big attack that comes up once every so often, so nothing too fancy.  Not to knock Warrior players or anything, but it's one of the easier classes in the game to learn, mostly because its offensive mechanics are very straightforward.

what about ranger?  If bears can tank isnt a ranger basically a WoW hunter which means faceroll everything with minimal effort?

yep ranger by far.
if you want to play ranged, you can press 1 and let things happen with your pet tanking for you.
the good thing with ranger is that if you want to play actively on the other hand, you have soooo many things you can do.

I started a ranger yesterday as an alt and I think I already agree with this. E.g. axe #2 functions a bit like the Diablo 2 Necro's Teeth, you can hang back and fire it at multiple enemies for smaller bleeds, go up close and unload it on one enemy for 5 bleeds, or anything inbetween. Longbow has a range/damage function. I believe shortbow uses flanking tactics. And I'm sure there are lots of other nuances that can make it quite interesting and deep if played to its full potential, even though you can just sit back and bash your face on the keyboard if you like   Just make sure you don't act like a bot when playing, they tend to favor that particular class unfortunately...

Yep I would say ranger, on pve ur pet( bears) tank all the trash mobs so easily. U just stand using shortbow with auto-attack .

Yes I agree its a new player friendly profession, pretty straightforward to run.

30 trait points in beastmastery and your pet will tank really well.

Signets boost you and the pet which is how I run my Ranger.

or maybe drop traps around your bear while he tanks which is also effective.

Underwater skills are pretty effective too.

+1 for ranger. Stand back and fire arrows with the shortbow while your pet tanks.

yea i thought about ranger but there seems to be more skimpy looking plate(heavy) than leather(medium).  And if theres two classes Im considering looks is the deciding factor.  Unless someone has some sexy leather pics they can direct me to.

just roll necro spawn 4-5 pets and you can go afk after you get elite pet its soo easy.

If you enter the mists you are supposed to be able to open up a pvp locker and check out all the armour.
Not tried it myself perhaps someone could confirm this is so.

So far I am wearing armour that dropped and its a pirate outfit knee boots long coat and hat with feather.

I'm not sure that swearing and cursing your pet over its stupidity is very relaxing...

Personally I would say tank built Warrior or Guardian. Let the others be the dpsers jumping all over the place - you focus on eating damage and supporting. It works great in dungeons and PvE with a very relaxed style of gameplay. WvW is a bit different, but as long as you play with a group and they know you can be the punching bag rather than the burster, its not really an issue.

Its true that you wont kill everything fast but then again you wont loose half your HP doing so either. And as either class you're probably still going to kill stuff faster than the Ranger...

Definitely not the thief, high adrenaline, high speed, high reaction combat. I would have to put my vote in for the Guardian over the ranger, just because it has amazing survivability, good damage and a lot of support skills so you don't have to rely on the AI to make the content easy for you.

shorbow ranger with a bear, all it requires is some positioning so that you can stack bleeds by flanking the mob and hitting 1 a few times then moving on.

Elementalist ..put scepter/dagger and then just  use
air-> 5 -> fire->2->3->5->earth->arcane wave->4->2 >kite around->air->2
see easy peasy..and if things are not dead yet just kite and repeat (just remember to go to water to heal )

I havn't tried ranger but heard good things about bears being tanks (alot of bots use rangers with pet bears as tanks), Warrior you can sit there with an enemy attacking you endlessly and not die with a signet build + adrenaline health, I have this one guy in my guild who is the worst player I have ever met, and he runs around as a necro with a bunch of minions, so that must be pretty easy as well, but I would worry about them aggroing other monsters.

I would say Ranger.. All bots play human because they get a bear and just now i saw 4 bots around the same place all lvl 34 in a 40 area.

people who say the ranger is relaxing have obviously not listend to the sound of the shortbow...maybe if gw was on mute i'd say a shortbow ranger is relaxing.

a axe/torch ranger with flame trap and the toughness and regen signets with a carrion dev pet is prob the most relaxing/easy spec (after playing all specs/weapons/classes).
Have a friend run you to the area where you can tame the carrion dev pet.

Ranger, nothing much to add but i can easily fall asleep playing my ranger alt.
War or Guard infact not a particular good choice. it won't be easy when you are at your 80s doing all the dungeon grinding.
an advice, never touch the profession like mesmer and elements, you will find yourselves smashing all the keys in every dungeon

I would say Ranger or Warrior. You can kill things really quick with the Warrior and it never stops to amaze me how fun it is to play. Rangers are easy to use too but kinda boring in the long run and to far.

Rangers : Stand back and kill people with your bow/shortbow, kill things slower, Pets can help you kill things faster but still not as fast as the Warrior

Warrior : super fun to play, kills things quick, use Rifles for ranged
