I wonder if people who opened multiple chests got multiple bags?

Pretty tough long drawn out fight across the island with enough variation to keep me interested.
Problems came about because of my low spec graphics card as once the reinforcements arrived I had trouble using skills.
Spamming bow skills 1 was buggy though the other skills worked most of the time.
Final fight sequence was good and I got what I consider reasonable loot.
Zeds boots exotic
The Colossus Hammer exotic precurser to the Juggernaut
A Kaka Chest with more goodies 20 slot bag and an exotic piece of jewelery
plus a few yellow weapons and armour.

Actually responding to rage is not futile, it's what responsible professionals do. In fact, the proper communication could save a lot of rage, and speculation. There is nothing rational, about immediately writing off complaints as irrational, and hiding from them. There is nothing constructive, about ignoring criticism, and continuing to look apathetic. In fact, you're only going to drive more people away.
You call people irrational, but there is nothing rational about defending those who refuse to even try to defend themselves. There is nothing rational about ignoring your fanbase, your beta testers, and all feedback and continuing to make bad decisions.
There nothing rational about holding an event in the exact same place, that caused unbearable lag less than a month ago, and then doing the same thing only worse, and compounding that with added server stress from trial accounts.
You only get to judge others for irrationality when you, yourself, are completely rational.
A weak excuse, as you've also condemned your "rational" clientele to the same judgement. So everyone suffers. and why? Because you were too cowardly to deal with customers you willfully angered.

I had to get my son to bed so he couldn't take part. I am sure there must be hundreds of thousands of people who couldn't take part at this specific time. My friends I play with couldn't do anything because of crippling lag, so I chose not to abandon them, thinking maybe there would be a chance to repeat it when it wasn't absolutely mental.
They need to limit it to once per account for the chest and run it again at a couple of different times, so that those who couldn't take part actually have a chance to do it. Even back in the days of GW1 they had the sense to run special events every 3 hours, this is the stupidest move I have ever seen them make. A cut scene or a big lagfest in LA is 1 thing, but something of this magnitude should not be so player exclusive.

I love posts like this for the hypocrisy.
If you there are bigger issues going on in the world, and crying about a game pales in comparison (and it does), then why are you here, complaining about people complaining about a game? YOU are complaining about something frivilous! Why don't you, instead of complaining about people posting complaints, go picket Wall Street, or volunteer for aid in Darfur, or a soup kitchen, etc.
You don't get to log in, and tell others to stop complaining, WHILE complaining.
Do you really think a person can not complain about anything, as long as someone in the world suffers more? That's a game which has no winner.

What a great event. Wonder how they'll top it in the next one?

So with the bag and earring you get about 3g in loot. This justifies the 3hr long event, but missing it isn't the end of the world.

o The lag was horrendous and I was on overflow. Players dying constantly due to invisible mobs that render right on top of you. My most vivid memories from this event will be laying there dead with dozens of other dead players all waiting to rez (because the run back was incredibly annoying and the zone horribly designed to prevent people from getting back to what they wanted to do but more on that later)
Regarding the lag, the number of people allowed into each shard could have been reduced and the difficulty of the event scaled.
o The waves of mobs simply became tedious. By the end it was no longer remotely fun and I'm not sure this would have been any different without the lag. The trash mobs could have been in half, making the event an hour or hour and a half, which would have been far more tolerable. Not fun perhaps, but tolerable.
o Running back and forth over that zone. First we have to run to the south end of the island, then back up, then back, then forth, etc. This was fine when you were in the event zerg but when you were solo trying to run through mobs who use Cripple and various other effects meant to inhibit your travel. If you waypointed after dying you wasted more time traveling rather than doing anything fun (or you simply died again trying to get back to the event).
I am thankful this is one-time only event. I never want to see anything like this ever again. After the Halloween event which was so well done and so much fun, this was a glaring contrast, a bug-filled and thorroghly un-enjoyable experience.
On the positive side, I did enjoy the build-up to the event. The whales and the story were intriguing. And ArenaNet fixed the bugged scavenger hunt mission quickly enough. It's too bad that the final event left such a bad taste in my mouth.
I am glad that I'm not one of the unfortunate people who had to suffer through this event without even getting any reward. I hope ArenaNet will take steps to do something about that.
Overall, this was a disappointment. If ArenaNet meant for this to be a way to attract new players with the Invite a Friend, I worry that it did not leave a very good impression.

On top of that, they have proven once more that their engine isn't capable of supporting the hordes of people they force into the same map. I wonder if they will ever realize that they have to bring some serious updates or forget about zerg concept. First halloween, now this.
Fotm is amazing, though. Hopefully we will get more instanced levels in the future and no more lagfests.
Edit:

Wasn't this the best chance of actually finding a precursor we ever had? Not counting exploits and bugs, of course.

In a way I suppose FotM made the jarring, un-fun of today's event stand out all the more. FotM is such an challenging and enjoyable experience, it made the Lost Shore event seem that much more unpleasant.

Even without the precursor that's better than any loot I've ever gotten in this game.

Bad impression to the players that used free trial, unless they didn't join any of these events and just played normally.

Wait what? It costs 10 gold just to buy the rune to make a 20 slot bag. This is a huge kick in the teeth for those who couldn't do it and dream of having extra bag space or even 10 gold.

Fight uber lag for upwards of 2 hours for a slim chance of receiving a precursor?
Yeah I'll pass.

This. They make a global game, they should cater for a global audience. They must have for their calcs and put us on the minority in terms if their revenue earnings. Or they assume we are so addicted we will get over it and play non the less.
