[Passive Aggressive]

I think about 4 people from my guild got a precurser from the chest and another bought one cheap right after the event.  How did you all fair?

The 20 slot bag and account bound exotic ring are nice plus I got about 6 gold worth of rare and exotic loot. A legendary precurser would have been nice but I was just happy to see yellow and orange loot out of a chest.

I expect there to be even more raging about this event considering there was decent loot to be had and some people couldn't participate or got lagged out.

I decided to do the event on my alt. Got exotics and rares which was between lvl 30-60. FML.

Not going to rage but I will say that I am pretty bummed out by this news. It seems this is the first time Arena Net actually considered giving worthwhile loot from an event, and it is also the first time I made the conscious choice not to bother participating because of just how poorly handled and at times unplayable the preceding events were.

Over the last several years in GW1, the GW2 BWEs, and the recent Halloween I’ve fought to make the time to attend and participate in every event, but these recent issues and Arena Net’s blatant refusal to even acknowledge what most consider an acceptable, simple, and even at times necessary fix to the problem have left me burned out and disinterested in the game in general. It’s a real shame too; this time last year if you had told me that Arena Net’s unfaltering dedication to bringing large scale, open world, dynamic, free content at a rapid pace would be the thing that virtually kills the game for me I’d have laughed at you. But then quality counts for more than quantity to me, and I’d much prefer Arena Net stop giving us an event a month in favor of one event every few months that actually works.

No. Immediately after the event the prices dropped drastically on the TP. Some were selling for like half the usual price.

Though there was one person in my guild who linked a precurser and was like "Damn I can't use this. Does anyone want this?"  We were all like OMG NO SELL IT!!!

I got Dawn. Glad I did otherwise I would have been irritated that I suffered through the boredom of that event. I'm hoping they learn from this and tweak future events to be more fun and interesting.

You bet. It seems WvW is a free-for-all, no night-capping affair on a global scale, but their PvE events completely neglect to cater for anyone outside the US. Sunday 12 p.m. PST is 9.00 a.m. on a Monday morning for me - thanks Anet.

Yea, the event was SO BORING. Should have been about an hr or so. My server was sooo slow. It took us over 3 hrs to complete. Anyways, I nabbed a Rodgort's Flame.

That's what I find really confusing about this whole "one time event" nonsense. Time zones differ around the world, so how in the hell can that be fair for all players? Really stumped on that one.

I was doing "Defeat the Ancient Karka" till the middle of the event. Then I went afk to eat something and when I came back I had dced and my progress didn't save,so I lost all the freaking 1h event...

I personally think including precursors for this event was a bad idea it splits the community. A lot of players made easy profit 180-200g by just opening a chest while others only made 2-4g because they didn't win the lottery. To top it off i've heard players on trial accounts also received precursors oh and then there are the players that got disconnected before looting the chest or who couldn't be on because of timezone issues/etc. I am not trying to make a legendary i've amassed over 300g since launch just that I don't like the direction anet is taking with this game

Considering half the players looted a precursor I doubt they'll be worth a lot.
More supply, lower prices.

I thought the way they structured this one-time event was incredibly inconsiderate and just not very well thought out. They schedule it for the middle of the day on Sunday? Some of us have things to do during non-prime time hours. It's incredibly disappointing to hear that I missed out on legendary precursors because I couldn't boot up the game in the middle of the day (East coast). Must be even worse for Oceanic players.

The problem is that they run it on all regions at the same time, so that is the best one. In Europe it's between 7 and 9 pm, mostly. Which is kinda meh for us too.

I wish they would design them to run the entire day and at normal times for each region. But maybe only a 1 time exotic loot.

Oceanic players are one group that generally get shafted when it comes to these things. It's getting old, but *shrugs*, what can we do? It'd be pretty extreme to yell out and say 'I quit' over something like that, but I appreciate this just means falling back in the curve everytime. Fortunately, there's other things to work on. I try to tell myself that at the end of the game life cycle, all these pixels will be worth nothing...the fun I got out of it however, is something I get to keep.

On the point of fun though, losing out on these events is losing a bit of fun too.

Due to repeated disconnects and lag preventing me from tagging enemies, I actually ended up losing money by participating in this event when repairs were factored in.

Somewhat disappointing, but I had fun anyway, so I just consider it a few silver blown on a few hours diversion, and it's not a terrible trade.

That's half of the folk that actually got to loot the chest though. Seems like quite a few people missed the event altogether. But yes I agree, more supply should equal lower prices.
