How exactly am I raging? The thing with the lottery is the chances of winning are abysmal what they should have done was give out unique skins instead of making players instantly rich for opening a chest you would think the highest valued weapons would come from doing something difficult such as completing level 10 fractals? If you actually read my entire post apart from the first line you would see I don't care much for legendaries but let me guess your reply is going to be "all i read was qq"

Here is anet contradicting an earlier statement which they seem to be good at
"We feel that everyone should have the ability to contribute no matter what time of the day it is. How we’ve came to this conclusion is that no player’s time is more valuable than another. Everyone has different off peak hours for whatever reason. Players should not be punished or unable to experience and view the same content as everyone else because they play at a different time. They too are paying customers."

Anet isnt smart. Have the event repeat. Only 1 chance for chest. Change your damn tooltip. If the event is no longer active turn the damn thing off. this is madness.

I think using the RNG for the final reward was a pretty glaring mistake. Ignore for a second that many people were DC'd/unable to attend... But everyone who did participate spent the same amount of time slogging through the lag and reinforcements... And yet some were gifted with massive fortune, while others received garbage. If the reward had just been the accessory and the bag, and say a token for a unique weapon skin... Well, I think everyone would've been happy!

Instead, we have a situation where a small group of people are very happy... and a lot more are left bitter.

Re: the price of precursors being a win-win... It's not like every day hundreds of new ones will be put on the market. The small influx of new precursors will be depleted quite quickly, and the price will go back up again.

To be fair I feel like MF doesn't affect much. With 0% I still manage to find exotics in dungeons now, (thanks new loot rules lol)

MF does not effect chest drops at all. Only drops directly from mobs.

One guildy got 2 precursors from his chest. Another got the one I desperately wanted (Dawn) and promptly traded it for a Twilight. I, as a mesmer, received four pieces of yellow medium armor, and I popped a MF booster just as we hit the last stage of Ancient Karka.

I got "Rage" the precursor harpoon gun. The event was a complete bore and I stopped playing and went AFK during the second "kill the recruitment" event. Even though I think the event sucked, the event was worth doing simply for the rewards from the chest (2 exotics, 2 rares, a 20 slot backpack and an exotic earring)

Can we still do this quest? If yes, where/when does it start? Do I need to do phrase 1 and 2 to be able to finish this Ancient Karka event?

Sorry for the questions, I was busy on the weekend so I missed a lot of things, but seems like this chest gives good loot so I wonder if I still have the chance to try my luck.

When the second wave of karkas came to defend the ancient I was soooo tired of it I decided to 'rest' on my desk. I fell asleep and mins later the event ended and I got nothing, fml

I don't like where these "one time events" going, at least they should give no reward at all or make it doable for everyone. I don't understand why they do this with people who are busy at the given time, they paid the same money for the game, they should be equal with the others. -.-

It is do able for everyone, but have to choose between Real Life or the game.

Unless you live in Europe or America your going to miss most of these events as there catered for the majority not the minority and at the end of the day it's only a game.

Anet has made a choice, would they rather have 5%* of the community crying that they couldn't do the event or 95%*. I know which I would pick.

Before the event, the pre-cursor TP prices were ridiculous, far beyond the reach of casual gamers. Furthermore, the casual gamer will not find the time to grind out the remaining items for a Legendary weapon. In effect, they will be sold to the more hard core gamers who have 150 gold to spare.

The resulting price crash will ensure avid gamers will have their pre-cursers and those lucky casuals will now have enough gold to get well booted and suited in some nice exotics. I bet half the casuals who got a pre-cursor can not even afford to list the damn thing on the TP yet.

However, I agree that this redistribution of wealth was unfair in that the disparity of loot drops was too large i.e. 1g versus 300g from one chest, eek. 300g is a LOT of loot for a casual player.

There are some positives (cheaper pre-cursors) but the gulf between the unlucky casuals and everyone else just got bigger.

I have sympathy for those who did not get a chance to open the chest through no fault of their own i.e. a dc, they tried, but the game server failed them. I have no sympathy for people who opened the chest and got cr@ppy gear, at least you got your chance.

Really unhappy with the way they organized this.

Event started at 21.00 at my server, I got home at 21.45 and spend 2 hours TRYING TO LOG ON.
I got trough 5-6 times only to crash when loading into my charracter. I tried on 2 different pc's, just impossible to logon.

And then I read that in my guild alone 7 people got precursors, some even got 2...

I mean come on. At least repeat the event and make the chest only lootable one time? Anet failed hard on this one.

I was so happy.  I got a level 80 exotic short bow for my ranger and got a rare mini from the chest that I sold for 7 gold.  We also had an awesome time doing the dungeon and the event.  So much fun.  It was way better than the Halloween event except for the massive lag.

I' am sorry but the "they should have" has little to no meaning really. Yours "should have" will be different then other peoples' 150000 different "should haves".

Lesser evil. Some things cannot be avoided. It's basics of life that apply to every field.

In the end, all they got was different skin. You still got exotics. Difference is the vaue of skin but power is same

Trials. Because of trials a lot of people who bought the game could not log into the game. Rather ironic.

ArenaNet should reward all players with an Ancient Karka Token that can be traded for a random Named Exotic.
