Got a Colossus for 93g, I can already sell it to a buy order for instant profit. But I think I'll hold on it for a while.

I bought Zap for myself and got 2 Energizer's which I can also sell at a profit already. Though I had to sell all my ancient bones to afford it. Hopefully they don't rise anymore or it will make me sad.

I got Rodgort's Flame from the Karka chests. I think it's like the cheapest one. lol I sold it for about 10g. Guess a decent amount of people got precursors so prices may fall.

Bit lame. Time zone meant I was asleep and missed the event.. which instantly made many people rich! SWEET.

Bought precursor torch and focus from tp for 9g each. Torch is up to 25g already and I got the shortbow precursor from the karka event.

I bought dusk when it dropped to 185g

Went up about 40g an hour later

Sold and bought The Legend at 145G. Went up 20G 2 hours later.

Appx 50-60G in profit.

considering the event keep going for over 12 hours you must have been really sleepy!

Start-to-finish the final part of the event was typically between 2 and 3 hours, according to some people on different overflow servers that I spoke to and my own experience.  Not sure where "12 hours" came from.

Also, this thread is a great example of how already being rich can make you richer.

I can't wait for the precursor scavenger hunts to go live so I can drink all the delicious tears of the market monopolizers trying to cheat legitimate players out of fair prices.

I really hope everyone who bought precursors now are going to lose alot of money and they'll only keep going down in price due to huge supply. Enough of making crazy gold on 1 item already. Ppl here want to actually build legendary one day without having to spend half a year or more farming.

Making crazy gold on 1 item isn't right indeed, but i still want to put alot of effort into my legendary

Anet is working on a scavenger hunt to obtain a precursor as an alternative to buying them (or at a much lower cost). That's literally all we know.

We don't know when this will be implemented, how it will work, if we get to choose a precursor or if it's random, etc.

But it is coming, there was a Red post yesterday or today confirming that it is on the way, sometime in the future (not next patch, but here's hoping before Christmas).

Rest of the legendary costs over 400g. So if you won't go over 60g for dusk why would you even bother getting one? If you actually had the gold for a legendary then ~200g for a precursor isn't so bad. And if you already have all the other stuff why can't you save up a fraction of the gold you already invested in it?

EDIT: Good luck on the scavenger hunt, by the way. Anet seems to be fine with charging 120g for just the vendor purchased parts of the legendary, I really doubt they'd drop the cost of a precursor below 150g. They probably just want to cap it in the 200g range so Dusk and other high demand precursors aren't far more expensive than the others.

But people with legendaries already talk about how they got them for ~60-90g.  I think ~60g for a precursor isn't too bad, especially in that light.  ~150g still seems high, but then again, maybe that's the price the market will bare.  I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a precursor didn't actually -cost- anything through a scavenger hunt:  but the hunt itself could be something that requires runs of every dungeon, or is on the length of the personal story, or something to that effect.  Maybe it takes killing each dragon.  I would expect it to be cheap, actually:  but extremely time-consuming.

500+g and grind time you need for the other items is "alot of effort" enough, without precursor costing 300g+. It should be in no way more than 100g.
