Just a quick question here. Will the map be opening up more at the end of this event, or is this all that we get? Seems very small for a brand new zone. Thanks for any answers.

I sure hope they dress up the map a bit in the near future. There isn't much to do at all right now.

They indicated it's not meant to be a full zone. I hope they do something with it though. That looks like a lot of work for a one-weekend throwaway.

An elephant in the corner isn't really desirable at the moment, specially with so much that still needs work and so early in the game's life, but I can see this island becoming one.
Hopefully alot of the textures and such are from Domain of Winds so can be recycled instead of being thrown away. I'm sure some people that go round looking at walls will complain about recycling textures but I think the island is beautiful, but poorly designed so would hate to see the graphic design go in the bin on the back of the game play design

I imagine there will be a few changes that will be made, assuming the karka are eradicated for good, since their hive won't be needed anymore. Or perhaps they'll leave that area as the one place karka still spawn.
On the other hand, we were CITIZENS promised a CITIZENS fancy new resort by a certain CITIZENS Asura, so perhaps after the event phases out, the karka hive will have been demolished and replaced with this resort destination.

They stated the new zone would be small so i don't expect it to expand but perhaps they will use the zone as a staging grounds for further expeditions into the sea of sorrows- who knows perhaps the consortium will continue to expand.

I doubt they expected people to gather 1000 karka shells by the end of the event, which is what you need to get the karka trinket, not to mention the new recipies for crafting. It's safe to assume we will be able to fight karka for a long time to come.
There are already tourists that have been phased in so development will probably go slowly and definitely won't be done by tomorrow.
I do know they will most likely open up a path to Sparkfly Fen since there are opponents that spawn in a currently inaccessible area on the way to Sparkfly Fen, including a champion wave rider. A convienient wall of rocks is all that is blocking the path.

Would have been cool to see a new city built in the cave where the finale was. I was hoping to see something like in Nightfall where you cleared out the cave for Sanctuary. I waited...and waited....
