The following thread lists people you can self-join on to possibly get into the event - https://forum-en.gui...-UPDATe/page/22
If you find when you go to the zone it is full or you are not in the overflow, go to LA and then rezone into the Lost shore map.

Yeah, my brother is currently in and they just got the warning. He was in before and the entire game crashed halfway through, now this new build. Trying to shut it all down?

They have said on the forum they are looking into 'compensating' people who took part but could not finish because of crashing, so you might look into that.

Maybe they could start doing finale events every 6 hours if they stopped the "once in a lifetime event that will change the world forever" stuff. Not everybody has the luxury of being able to adjust their schedule around a video game.

Was this supposed to be a game for casual players? As in players that actually have a life? And by the way - though the finale started at 23:00 my time (and I have to wake up at 05:30 Monday morning, so not much sleep) I was there. It's just that lag made it unplayable. And not just that. So how is this working for you? Dedicated or undedicated players - even the events they come up with now are based on luck - not just lucky to get something nice, but also lucky to be able to login and actually do the event.

You are aware that not every player has to experience every piece of content, right?
The alternative to having these one time events is to either: 1) have none at all, or 2) artificially extend them/repeat them, both of which would defeat their entire purpose.
Please, stop complaining. If you can't attend you can't attend. That's life.

So Anet need to get their shet right because huge event = dc and lag and they know they cant handle it.
And i would be glad if they actually had a tester testing it, not just testing, but on a huge scale.

Or what they could've done is - make it repeatable event, but once per account. As soon as one round of event is over, take the players back to LA and keep the island inaccessible until the whole day is over, so that it remains one-day-only event. Keep all the WP's on the island contested for those players or just give them a message that it is inaccessible or just let them participate without any chest in the end so they can't exploit this. This way everyone gets to experience it for once in their lifetime as advertised. Everyone will be happy.

The fight did change the map quite a bit after all.

The Centaur events and dragon events spawn indefinitely everyday so structural changes are very much possible. I understand what you're saying and is quite a challenging task with such larger events. But once the first round of the event ends, they could reset the map to pre-event stage and repeat it after a while with new players as I mentioned above, but only over a 24-hour span, maybe like 5-6 times on that day and after the 24-hr period is over, have the map accessible for everyone so everyone sees the same changes in the map and experience the same thing. I'm sure they'd look at something like this so as to have entire playerbase satisfied. They wanted to have this event also as a way to get new players have a taste of the scale of events that happen in this game. The intention was good, when it went live, it didn't quite work out well, in terms of performance etc. Let's see how they'll plan for future events since their schedule shows they have more lined up, probably once per month.

I was there. I got my rewards. This isn't really about me.
Just because players don't NEED to experience every bit of content doesn't mean they don't WANT to. Why should certain people always be excluded from finale events? They really did miss out on some pretty neat rewards this time. Who knows what Wintersday and future events may offer... oh right, they might as well not even bother caring since they won't be able to attend the finale events! No big deal, right?
Shame on me for seeing things from another point of view besides my own?

Was much easier to do those events in GW1 since it's instanced. You could do those events when ever you wanted. Even the "Guild Wars beyond" stuff can be done when ever you want, and those quests actually do change spawns and npcs.
GW2 should've stayed instanced.
