Straits was actually terrible for farming of items, usually the yellows you got were lvl 78 and while pulling ectos out of them sort of made the money, trying to make exotics from them was a pain, cause usually you put 4 78s together and get a rare 80, then you need 4 of those to have a chance at an exotic 80. Cursed shore cut out alot of the steps towards forging exotics and overall had better drops and drop rates.

Well as I said theres two purposes, the zerg was actually useful for gold and getting drops as well, and personally I found the gathering of karma from doing that much faster. So question still stands if anyone knows of a new zerg that replaced the plinx one.

Penetant is still worth a few, and has nice waves, if you can get your tags in before the elementalists. This has been pretty easy lately with all the people in the mists dungeon, but I'm guessing it gets bad again soonish (after the weekend).

do your daily bonus (can be done in less than 30 minutes in a few different zones, I like wayfarer foothills and dredgehaunt cliffs), 4500 karma.
fully run AC explorable. with a good group, it should take you around an hour. each path gives you 26 silver and 1 vial of liquid karma worth 1880 karma, plus usually you'll get 2 extra drops of karma (400 karma each) from the spider queen and final boss, possibility of 2 more from kholer and the troll if it spawns. I'll just use the 2 drops for calculations as many groups skip kholer for speed and the troll doesn't always spawn. anyways, without merching the crap you get, that's 8040 karma and 78 silver. find another dungeon that is run a lot on your server (CoF always seems to have some), and that's another 8040 karma and 78 silver + drops.
so, running 2 dungeons fully and assuming you get 2 drops of karma on each run, that's 16080 karma and 1g 56s w/out merching junk. add in your daily jug of karma and that's 20580 karma, again with no boosters, which you can use to increase the amount of karma you get from the drops, vials, and jugs.
for money amounts, on a usual full run of AC I end up making over 2g for about an hours worth of play time (assuming a decent group). you can make more by playing CoF/HotW/CoE and using the tokens you get to buy rares from the dungeon vendor and salvage them for ectos, plus your merched junk will sell for more. I personally don't care about karma that much but I'm getting a ton of it.
