I don't see many people here, because it's late at night on a weekday, but I'm assuming it gets pretty desolate during peak hours too. Coupled with the Plinx nerf and the introduction of Fractals, is Orr a dead farming spot?

If so, what's the big money maker now? Fractals? Southsun Cove?

Fractals drop a nice amount of loot yes.
But still if you wanna farm, then Orr is the place to be.
Fractals drop some nice loot, but it's not guaranteed + you need to form a team first,...
Southsun cove is so dead it's amazing. So far I have only seen 4 different DE's.

Because they stealth nerfed rare drops from normal mobs, farming for rares is dead.  Doesn't matter where you are.  You can farm for drops running Pen/Shelt + Grenth + Plinx and farm the mats, but it's no where close to what it was before.

Yea I've tried to run it a few times since. Had a group, tagged way more mobs then normal since the place is so barren, and noticed a horribly lower drop % for rares. I used to get 3-4 average from a single shelter camp or pent camp. I went about 2 hours each session with a total for 3-4 rares...

The part of Orr I farmed for karma seemed to have been changed. Maybe it was bugged however it had an event chain of three events that repeated every 30 minutes. Because it spread things out, you never got DR on Karma. Loot would dwindle but not silver from the events.

I popped over last night, and none of the events were running. Before, one of the three were always going. Drats.

Fractals gives a ton of goodies if you can get a decent group that stays together.

What I saw of SouthSun Cove during the events, with the level 84s... no thanks.  I will look again this weekend but getting ganged up on by level 84s isn't fun.

Which events do you mean ? Plinx , def events ?

That's because Karka hit like a truck and any Karka event will own a zerg but they are a great source of powerful blood if you can kill the Karka fast.

I honestly have no idea, where to farm now, that plinx got nerfed and I'd really like to know, what to do now. Not that I want anyone to tell me their secret farming spots (I know, this won't happen) but some advice on what to do.

At the moment I just collect ori and ancient wood on Southsun Cove, other than that I just do dungeons. Dungeons are fun and give some awards as well, though there might be better ways to make money. Is it worth framing for T6 mats? I got a powerful blood from a karka once, so it might be a good idea to farm those, like already mentioned. I just don't know, if farming "normal" mobs type is wort it.

Sadly no, Orr still remains a good source for good loot and especially for the events.
I moved to Karka island for gathering though, and to fractals for fun and drop.

I have that zombie zones, I hope we kill the undeads for good in an expansion, now that Zhaitan is gone.

Yesterday i made 3 times(all failed) attempts to cap Arah, we were too low in numbers... but got a great farming!
If u keep "failing" it it restarts every 10-15 mins and you can make some nice loot (even if rare drops are somewhat near to ZERO... and thanks god they buffed them lol!!)

Orr is still the best place to farm if you're farming solo. The stealth nerf to the rare drop rate has roughly halved the gold you get from farming there but it's still better than other places. I used to get 30g a day from Orr farming but since the Nov 15 patch it's more like 15-20g.

Sure, if you play 10 hours a day doing nothing else you might get that lol.

From everyone I talked to the average hourly gain seems to be around 2 gold or so, unless I'm missing something.

Yeah, got to say that entire island is just a huge "Rich Orichalcum Ore" holder for me. They should do something with the place.
