"New Content and reward progression" for WvW, what's in Store?

How to fix WvW (what I think).

1. Rendering issues. So tired of dying and then seeing 40 people on top of me.

2. Invis holding of the circle. Partially related to the above issue, invisible thiefs just don't render and are too hard to find. If you are invisible you can't hold the circle.

3. The catapult behind the door tactic. Who has ever heard of a cata firing through a door to defend a keep?This is just silly.

4. Commander pins. Too many pins on the map, mostly owned by people who play PvE and then just buy one. I don't think that's a problem. Here's what should happen: there is the join squad function, right? Well, the more people join that commander's squad the more prominent that pin should be on the map. This will make it easy to follow the most respected commander on the map. If a squad has fewer than 5 people in it, the pin should not show up on the map unless you are close to that commander. This will also make it attractive to be in a squad. You could even add some bonuses for people in the squad based on its size.

5. It would be good to have the pieces of ascended armor drop in WvW, or weapons, take your pick. The Ascended stuff is not much better than the orange gear is anyway, I'm not sure why this is an issue.

6. Do something with guilds. I have no idea what, but it needs to be worthwhile for a guild to focus on WvW. Show per server rankings?

Seeing as there are always zergs on all sides when I join WvW (more or less daily) I find it highly unlikely that it would be empty by then.

And why assume they won't add anything before that?

I've made a bit over 100k karma in the last two days in WvW and close to 10g, and that is with plenty of hanging out doing nothing for long periods of time and no boosts.  No idea how many skill points.  It's not the worst situation.

Also, I wasn't discounting anything.  This wheel has already been invented, and kill trading has been very common in past MMO's.

They need to fix performance first:

* culling
* stealth not showing characters on less powerful GPUs
* the fact that all CPUs less than quad Sandy Bridge i5s suck in WvW (1st gen Core i5 is a dual core hyperthreaded except i5-750 , benchmarks put i5-2500k on par with i7-920)
* draw distance optimizations : for showing characters not in a certain range (do we really care if it's a charr that's male or female when they are at treb distance? Do we really care which face that engineer has over at the tower that's not even in 3600 range?)
* WvW having a separate graphics option so you can play max everything in PvE/sPVP but low/medium in WvW

Dropping ascended and exotics to rare level stats would even the playing field. At the very least, make ascended items act as exotics. You can't get Ascended items through WvW at the moment.

Commanders not being a PVE title (you can get it faster in PVE than WvW due to repair costs and the craptastic loot in WvW).

I like to see performance improved in WvW. I know it can be done. Also reduce the insane grind required for the WvW titles. Why can I get cool titles in PvE or spvp in an hour yet it takes me 2 years to grind 250k kills for the wvw title? Also how about some truly bad ass looking INVADER armor? Reduce the cost of the invader armor by 20% across the board as a first step.

Outmanned buff. W T F were they thinking, "oh your team is outmanned, here have some inc mf % and karma boost and go pve. But be careful out there!"

Lots of requirements, a lot has been covered by some very good posts here. But IMO:

1) The rendering and culling issues
2) Related to above but stealth. The most bs op stuff in wvw. combined with 1) and with no stealth breakers and the fact that ccs are useless against stealth (because a lot of ccs are single target directed, with stealth you lose your targeting and it wll be easy for a thief to dodge it, and thieves usually pop stability.
3) Rewards and incentives for defending, playing wvw etc. I like the chest idea someone mentioned. Perhaps something similar for defending. Too many times i have been the first one on scene to defend, prevent reinforcements, cc, etc and get absolutely squat for doing so. Silborn from IOJ mentoned having duels in towers, keeps etc that gave an incentive for ppl to stay and defend towers as they could duel each other and be at site waiting to defend.
4) A map rotation would be fantastic but other issues need to be fixed first
5) New seige
6) Maybe doing something with the wvw bonusses. I hardly notice the bonusses you get from wvw at the moment and most people would surely be the same
7) Incentives to wvw, how come pve and spvp get all the love Anet?

Make badgers useful for more stuff....

Exchange for cash or gems
Buy WvW specific Legend precursors
Buy Raid skill that is guild specific, with a regular Raid UI.
Buy buffs, skills or gear that has specific traits that are only good for WvW (Imagine a whole set of WvW only utility skills bought with Badges).
Ranger Pets that can be purchased with Badges
Specific Weapons that can only be bought with badges (Scythe, Polearm, crossbow, Bo stick, Whip, buckler) and each weapon has unique set of skills.

  I could come up with so many ideas I would need an army of code monkeys.

I would like to see some form of renown ranks to spend skill points on after 80.
Renown ranks that are specifically related to WvW tactics and strategy.
Utility skills that benefit siege or defence.

More badges period. Why should I have to be the one to put the fork in the guy? If I'm helping kill I should be rewarded as well. Also we need away to have bigger groups.

you dont need to stake them lol. All i ever do is spam an aoe in a large group and i usually get at least 5 bags each encounter. even if they are already downed you can hit them for a few thousand and you get credit. Im suprised people dont know this already
