I know theirs a couple different shades of black dye such as midnight and abyssal, etc. I was wondering which one was the most darkest looking one on heavy armor?

Abyss is the "purest" Black in Game.

I heard that the midnight fire tend to be darker than Abyss,
btw what should be the dark but cheap way to have a dark dye for my second char?
there's only midnight violet which cost less than a silver, but still there's noticeable difference to the dark colour.

Thanks

Ouch, 12 gold.

Also will it balance the colors between two different sets of armor?

There's no real way to answer some of the more complex dye questions because the slight changes in darkness, hue, saturation, etc are all going to be affected by what area of the armor you're dying as well as the armor type, set, etc.

For example, as said, on some specific pieces Midnight Fire will show up extremely dark. However, on some of my Thieve's leather material armor, it is simply a maroon-esque colour with a slightly orange hue to it.

Midnight Ice also shows up very dark on some pieces. On most of my cloth sets midnight ice was significantly darker than abyss while on a lot of plate it seems to be very blue.

I did try the midnight fire, it does have a slight orange tint, but it's still pretty dark. Also it ended up making all my armor match so it did it's job. Once I get more gold I'll try the other ones.

what happened to abyss dye's price? Before lost shores i bought it for 5g. After lost shores it hit to 12g?
As for darkest black dye, go for abyss no doubt if you want the purest, darkest, most elegant black.

Before lost shores there was a bug with the drop rate of unidentified dyes, they were a LOT more common and thus prices fell. Also, many people got precursors from the ancient karka event and you need 250unid dyes for certain legendaries.

On leather, midnight ice has the best shiny black look imo.
