Working on getting Mjolnir. Completing Fractals. Build guild up.

[My Sweet Lily]

I got loads of goals:
*Get a quiver for my Ranger main.
*Do Fractals for gold/just for the fun of it.
*Complete Main Story on my Mesmer alt.
*Get full Exotics/Ascended for my main.
*Get full Exotics for my alt.
*Do WvW.
*Do PvP.
*Level a Guardian alt (then I have medium, light and heavy armor professions).
*Do all dungeon paths.
*100% World Completion.
*Experiment on builds.
*Get cool weapon skins.

Those are just to start with.

My goal is to have fun, get 100% world completion, and... I dunno, have more fun. ? I like progressing lowly, and my highest level character at the moment is 35-ish, so this game is going to keep giving for a long time for me, haha! One of my goals is also getting the human cultural tier 2 for a light armor character. Which is funny because as I speak, I don't have a light armor wearing human character, ha! I guess making one and sticking to her is going to be the first goal! And I guess the biggest goal for me is to complete the main storyline at least once. *shrug* At this point the end doesn't seem important! The journey does. <3

Eh, i'd say it's some kind of pseudo legendary. I've only seen one person with it so far and he also had Bolt, Kudzu and Twilight.

Its not giving up if you don't complete a legendary.  You don't have to.

I play to have fun, when I get bored I log.  That is all.  These days I log in to WVW for a few hours then log out on my warrior & mesmer.  I feel no desire to grind in crap dungeons, or fractals for equally crap rewards.

Andy Warhol coined a phrase "social disease"  in which he commented on people who went out even when they didn't really want to because they feared missing out on something.  Many MMORPG players fall into this category.

If it isn't the case don't log in for a week.  If you can't do that then you fit the bill.

Currently working on a Legendary and finding good skins for my PvE/WvW set. Really the main goal is to have fun w/ my friends helping each other get the things we want...if they aren't on..I'm usually not on either.

I play far more than that.  And 'right circumstances' means either it has to be fast and easy to get the group and certainly not require joining a large guild doing that particular activity, or it has to be like WvW, where I was willing to use Teamspeak to play just because it did require that much coordination to play optimally.  It was fun, too.  But forget about it if I have to grind dungeons to get competitive gear, just forget it.

I think you're right, though, it's hopeless.  During its first 3 months GW2 did mostly show it could cater to both groupers and people who mainly solo, but for some reason they've screwed us solo players over bigtime.  Hope that decision comes back and bites them hard, too.

-Play with friends
-Find more high places to jump to my death from
-Find even more creative ways to fall to my death in fights
-Fix my gear and stats on my thief..
-Get ascended items for my characters
-Play more WvW

250x Orichalcum Sword Blade (=1500 Orichalcum Ore)
250x Charged Lodestone (Yep, ouch)
100x Mystic Coin
1x Eldritch Scroll

Pop that in the mystic forge and you shall receive. Got to admit the lodestones are the biggest pain and will either cost you a load of money (500g-ish), or weeks/months of grinding.

Thank goodness theres no grind!

Are you required to do it? No. Not at all.
It has the same stats as exotics you can get for 2g each, and actually a bit worse because it has Magic Find on it.

You want it? You'll have to work for it.

Common fallacy of a lot of gear arguments in game forums is "it is not required".  You can have a level 80 wearing level 70 blue gear and still be possible to complete most of the endgame challenges.  But is it fun to play what you know to be an inferior character?  To many people the answer is no, that is not fun.

Thus the right question to ask is not "is it required?" but rather "is it fun to play a more inferior character that does not have said gear?"  If it is not fun, then playing the game has lost its purpose.

Personally, I've got 5 goals pulling me on, haha. Those would be, 100% map completion (I'm fairly casual about it), 100% dungeon completion, the weapon Soul Links (Oh god, over 200 ectoplasm to go x.X), exotic dungeon armor (most likely Honor of the Waves), and the affording the Khilbron armor set. Of course, my world versus world competitiveness also helps keep me in the game. Honestly, I hadn't realized how many goals I had until I just thought them out now. So how about the rest of you? What's keeping you playing, goal-wise?

Only goal: Have fun in game during the time I can play. Regardless of sPVP, WvW, Dungeons, levelling alts, etc.

I don't have many hours a day/week to play, so I don't need specific goals to keep me going.  It's nice for a change ^^;

1. World map completion (98/100 currently)
2. Making making alts to learn proffs specific skills/builds etc.
3. finishing leatherworking (383/400)_
4. Finally settling down in a specific guild.

The a major goal is to own tier 3 cultural armor on all my alts......but ultimately it's having fun.

Was i comparing level 70 blues to level 80 exotics? No. No i wasn't. Yet you put words it my mouth to make it look like i was.
I was comparing THIS with THIS.

Statistical difference? No not really, aside from it having just plain different stats.
Since when are you "Inferior" for having a normal pearl level 80 exotic that costs you 2-3 gold on the Trading Post?
